I just saw HTC released explorer which has same specs as wildfire s so is there any possiblity for wildfire s getting the updated htc sense 3.5.

Might do. The Desire S stock rom got the 3.5 update so don't see why WFS wouldn't get it; in good time.

Now entering new world of Rooting and Porting Rom

It looks like HTC is preventing us to update our phones the official way. I was so exited about Desire getting the 2.3 version...
They sad that the phone doesn't have enough memory to run the latest version of the OS smoothly. In other words, Gingerbread can work on Desire, but just not smooth enough. Personally, I don't mind that. They could just add a small notice before the update which says that it is not recommended to run the update due lack of phone memory or something similar...
it can run but they dropped us , look at wildfire s
i know not same phone but same rom
cn runs on 2.3 and no slow downs
i hate my desire now ehhehe

1) To get your phone rooted, go to unrevoked and download the flash utility. Also install their USB drivers as well. A lot of people miss that out.
2) Go read all of that tutorial you linked. It will help you, and anyone for that matter, understand what is rooting and flashing and all that good stuff.
3) Here is a complete list of all the roms available for the Desire.

Depends if you are branded or unbranded
if you are unbranded then you can root with unrevoked and flash away
if you are branded with an o2/vodafone/orange etc. handset then you'll need a gold card

cool sense can fit in the NAND without a partition on the EXT but you will struggle to run with any number of apps on a phone without an EXT partition...

Cool sense probably (most others have parts of 3.0 thrown in too)

You'll need to s-off for that with alpharev.nl - its in the video tutorial you linked at the start
you'll probably want unrevoked 3.21 - i found the latest version when I rooted didn't work

oh and check out the index for the roms with is posted by Meaple which will help figure out what is sense 1.9/2.1/2.1+3.0

not that I have seen - but you can use cool sense visionS which is the Desire Z (which is Desire S + rotation of home screen), or the AceS which is DHD

HTC might again not keep their words.
Better to learn how to use custom ROMs!
I think it about HTC Marketing strategy First they created hype of giving
2.3.3 to HTC Desire so that their remaining HTC Desire handsets will sell
now all the handsets are sealed now they reveal the Truth.
HTC think customers are fools that they are giving reason of NOT ENOUGH MEMORY
i ask them why dont you shed some extra features of Sense 2.1 or 3 and then port
2.3.3 at least we get the Base of 2.3.3
now the truth is all those handset with front facing camera will get 2.4 or 2.3.4 whatever it is coz
only that rom will allow you to make video calling offically on Android.
Now for compensation from HTC we want WP7 rom on our HTC Desire hehe

no dont worry about it - its cause its a DHD port
Hey guys i was heared that htc desire x will be given an update to jb with sense 4.1
I was very angry with htc since one v is much costly than desire x.
So i have an idea,since desire x and one v are having same resolution,the porting of sense rom was little easy.
so any one can give an idea about this porting?

I've got HTC Wildfire Buzz for a long while, so I want to update sense to a newer one but it doesn't let me replace the apk in /system/app.
Specs are the regular ones on Wildfire Buzz

You will need to follow these instructions
firstly you will need to root your buzz and set it as s-off

but skip the rom step since you still want sense ui
then use this

If you want to update sense you need either an official update or a custom ROM for your device. You can't upgrade it by one app, and if your device is s-on then you cannot write any apps to the system/app folder. Read through the guides here in the general section to get an idea of what upgrading entails
