I just made the jump from EVO 3D and yes I am very satisfied about the trade too. When I used the EVO OG I liked aman RA recovery the best not a fan of CWM at all, then EVO 3D got TWRP and love that recovery even more, so I am hoping if anyone knows if TWRP or TeamWin are bringing their recovery here. Especially when TWRP 2.0 comes?
Rootwiki gave a epic touch to cyanogen developers . I would guess it will come to et4g
Cm7 should not be far off either

It's about demand and if the TWRP devs are able to get a E4GT, or at least a GSII to build and test with.
Personally I hope we do get a build. I'm also looking forward to official CWM/ROM Manager support. The more choice the better.

Are we ever going to see a new viper rom come out anymore??
sent from SPH-D700 acs 1.2 shaking and baking.
I sent the Viper Team a DM on Twitter 2 weeks back...so far no response. From what I know, Tphilips (head of Team Viper) and his wife were expecting a child. Development disappeared around the release of EB13-EC05, so I suspect he's had all this time off from Development to spent time with his wife n kid. Would be nice to see em again soon tho, but great things dnt last forever D:

That sucks, I always liked the viper teams work, trinity 3.0.3 was what made me want to learn how to root, install roms, etc. I saw a you tube video for it and it was then I had to learn becasuse I was bound and determined to have it lol.

Its funny how many people wanted to root their phone from that Trinity 3.0.3 video by randyshear. I talked to tphillips on Google+ recently and he does have a child now...and a Nexus S but did say that he was going to put together another ROM for the Epic. There was no ETA of course

Lol that was the video, randyshear helped me out a lot with his videos. Thx for the good news about another viper rom even if there is no eta.

LOL; the RandyShear videos were what started me on the rooting path as well! I never tried Viper ROM, heard great things. Isn't Team Viper waiting for the official GB release before they do another ROM for the Epic?
Just to clear up a couple of things.
1. Yes its true I do not have an Epic any more I have a Nexus S 4G and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
2. I had a beautiful baby girl so I took some time off from here
3. There will be another Rom released whether it's with the "Viper" name is TBD but rest assure that it will be made by same people that made.VIPERrom in the past give or take a few.
4. Don't ask an ETA
5. Yes it will be my last ROM for the "Epic"
6. Enjoy life
Thanks

Congrats and from what I'm seeing, be safe in the D.
So does anyone here know if we will be getting MIUI for the epic touch? And if so do you know when we will be getting it? It was my favorite rom for my evo 4g and i would love to see it on this phone. Thanks
It will be ported eventually yes. We need aosp kernels.

If you flash miui from the gs2 with our kernel it works great except for the phone... Camera works, wifi is easy to get working ect..

I believe lithid-cm already started to work on it indirectly. By indirectly I mean they need a working AOSP kernel/build first. So that's what he is working on right now. I believe the kernel is giving them issues.

Not sure why either but I asked lithid-cm the he said they NEED the AOSP kernel/source to work properly, before porting MIUI.

It will usually boot with touchwiz kernel but most of the time 3g 4g touch screen and calls wont work that is why u need aosp kernel . I rocked Miui on my OG EVO 4G almost exclusivly.
Having finally jumped ship to a stock phone (I rooted ;-)) there are some concerns with going back to miui:
1) NO 4G!!!
2) On Evo, there was no 720p recording with Video... I'd hope we can take advantage of our 1080p cameras!
3) DATA WAS SLOW
That's it... If those 3 things were fixed I'd be happier than a stuffed pig!!
MIUI PROS:
1) customizable like no other!
2) smooth
3) Clean UI
4) overall fun to use
Wondering when ACS custom rom will be out. I know its already in testing and @darren said it was looking pretty good which should be obvious since ACS developers do a crazy good job but just hoping to get a little more info on the release i know no eta's are given. MY ET4g is still completely stock waiting for that rom to come out and im rooting it.

OK well maybe I should have said in my opinion, but i say that because twrp 2.0 is all touch screen and theme able. So themers should be able to make twrp how they want it look. it should be really cool when it comes out. Just google it and you will see

Welcome to the E4GT family! Just a couple things to know 1) Stay away from ROM Manager 2) Stay away from CWM Touch or any temp recoveries 3) Be very careful when using an ICS recovery (for now atleast til all the kinks are fixed) such as Rogue Repacks. Have fun!

Rom manager great for flash if used to boot into cwm recovery when using a steady repacked kernel. Never wipe data or reset in recovery when using an ics recovery. Use calks zip to wipe. Partitions changed in ICS and you will brick your phone
