Hello, I am annoyed by the fact that on the blue angel memory and in the storage card, files wont open when doubleclicked like a normal folder. Instead I get properties when 2clicking.
Is there a software which allows me to open files on the BA just like if it was a pen drive or whatever?
thank you
PB
Lol...windows mobile, the blue angel and stuff that never worked! And an 'app' was actually called 'software'!
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I have an hermes and i find it's the best pdaphone i've ever seen but I like so much the touch interface in the HTC Touch, is there a way to have it on the tytn, maybe packed in a rom? I use to open the keyboard only when I write messages... thanks!
i have a htc touch for half a year now.
i have the mobile shell 2.1 customized in the diamond style. it works a lot better. but i have a question:
my brother did get his new diamond this week.
can i go to my computer then to my phone and copy all the files from his diamond (including the windows on his phone) and replace all these files on my touch?
so i get his windows and diamond settings directly and original (stock) on my touch?
is there anyone who has an answare for my question?
thanks a lot
nope
the diamond's files are cooked into the rom, assume a vga screen and different hardware, and 3d acceleration
so i suppose you could, but nothing would happen
are you GSM or CDMA. if you are CDMA then go to ppcgeeks there are people there working on porting all that we can from the diamond.
whats the diffirence between gsm and cdma? sometimes i get lost in all these names for those phones: touch, elf, pda, pocket windows etc....
but now that i thought myself about my question:
the phone needs to be activated befor you can connect to the pc. when you try to overwrite it says cant copy because "......" is already in use.
its damn. because i like the elf very much and also the diamond windows
thanx a lot

you are quite genius for this idea!!!
there is no other like you
since getting my TP2 I haven't really changed any settings - mainly because I'm totally clueless about installing new applications and stuff.
I was just wondering what suggestions people would have for a new TP2 user who wishes to get the most out of his new toy?!
I would like to watch films on it, play games on it and listen to music on it. I have heard that coreplayer is good for watching movies but dunno how to go about installing it?! (thats how useless I am!).
Is there a central resource that i should be going to to find applications that are compatible with the TP2, and does anyone have any suggestions for decent applications that I should install, that are recommended and people feel improve the phone?
Also, from what I can tell, I cant just download and install a theme and pick it from a list on the phone? is this correct?
I'd eventually like to get a decent navigation program and some games installed.
I know this sounds like a pretty random post, but i've been reading some posts on here and am confused by how things are installed, and what a CAB is?!
(I also notice that I cannot get this site to load properly on my phone - it just displays a load of random characters? I am using opera, would IE solve this?)
I have an ipod touch and installing stuff on it via itunes is obviously a breeze, so is it as easy on this phone?
thanks for your time

It's all on the wiki or other posts around here ...
CAB: Install from the phone. Either mail it to yourself and download it from your mobile mail, use your USB-cable or bluetooth it or whatever.
EXE: Install it from the PC with the phone attached in ActiveSync mode.
For all the programs. Sorry, just read. I don't think anyone is going to make a list for you, Then again, everyone has different opinions ...
I can read the xda-site perfectly on my TP2. Same on my TP btw.
CAB is just an extension. Like a word document is: paper.doc
A program for you mobile can be: game.cab
A cab file is always an installation file. running this file, installs something on your pocket pc. So you have to run the file on your pocketpc.
As explained above, .exe extensions are programs ran in windows.
If you have a USB cradle the easiest way is to connect it with your pc and make a connection between those 2. Opening devicecentre (or something similar in some other language) en the connecting your TP2 to you pc will result in a popup asking if you want to set the synchornisation settings. Doing so is creating a link between your phone and your pc that will be remembered. So next time you connect, your pc recognises you mobile phone. When you have done this you have several options in the device center.
To move CAB files to your pocket pc you click on the explorer icon (bar) and it opens up your TP2's storage. After copying the file you execute it from your phone.
For installing .exe files, you also start windows mobile devicecentre and make sure they are connected. Then you run the installer from your pc. at some point the installation on the pc says it's done. Look at your phone and it asks permission to install this particular piece of software.

Google coreplayer, download the cab file, copy it to your phone using activesync, run the cab file from your phone using windows explorer, installing it to your storage card

No there isn't a App store like the Ipod , which means we don't have to suffer itunes \o/
Look around on here in the Rhodium Themes & apps section, also look in the Blackstone, Topaz and Sony Ericsson X1 sections. Most programs that run on those devices will work on the TP2

It depends which version of the phone you have. The branded versions may take a bit of work but the unbranded ones should be able to use any themes designed for this device/screen resolution

A CAB file is an executable file that installs a program/theme/registry hack onto your phone. It has to be run on your phone

Are the characters random when you zoom in?
A windows phone is not as easy as an iphone to install stuff, but it is not too difficult, if I can figure it out anyone can! But your TP2 will do more than an iphone and is a better device so its worth persevering with
Sorry if this is the wrong area...
I have both an HTC Topaz and a new iphone 3GS I am setting up for my wife. I realized that I can't access the file system to move files to/from my PC (Windows 7) to the iphone. that is a silly apple thing!
I unlocked my phone using blackra1n (blackra1n.com) and still need a tool that opens the files system.
Anyone know if an XDA forum for iphone and what tools I can use?
thanks
one can't access the iphone's filesystem unless one jailbrake it apple don't allow it
