Lately it seems like apps would just randomly freeze up and fc. And its happening on every rom i flash.. It mostly happens when im backing out of an app. It would just hang there for like 10 sec and then fc.. Anyone else having this issue? Its getting a little annoying. Right now im running starburst 1.3. It happens the most with tapatalk and launcher 7

On my G2, I've noticed that previously perfectly working apps will suddenly stop working, giving me a force close error whenever I try to launch them after being installed for a period of time. The only way I've been able to fix it is by uninstalling and then reinstalling the application.
Has this occurred to anyone else? And what should I do to fix this problem?
yes, i had this problem a few days ago...i did a factory reset and everything works fine as of now.
are there any solutions that don't require a wipe?
i had to wipe, and i lost all my mileage records i had entered into the mileage app, and my text messages before i backed them up...
its not too bad when its 2 weeks worth of information... but if this is going to occur often, its not going to be pretty
The two times that happened to me a simple power off/power on worked and they stopped Force Closing. I'm taking it that it didn't work in your situation and the uninstall/reinstall was the only fix?
yea i tried rebooting it several times, but after my latest wipe, nothing bad has happened...
still an issue that should be raised if its been replicated more than once
Ive had this problem with the stock browser and twitter, rebooting seemed to fix it.
Ah, one of those times where fix_permissions would be nice.
I've had to uninstall and re-install several of my apps because they've been force closing.

I've had this happen and it was acting really weird before it did it. It did like a vicious reboot and just about any app other than stock got a force close upon opening. It's gotta be software issues, god I hate stock roms. Damn TMobile and trying to restricting our joy of root.

This is starting to happen to me on my G2 as well now. I have uninstalled the Apps I could (except the preinstalled ones) and still they are force closing on me. I also have Factory Reset the phone several times and it still is happening. I have already exchanged my G2 once at Walmart for a flickering screen but im pretty sure the 14 days are up now with them. At this point I'm sure I have to call Tmobile.
Anyone have any ideas before I call T-Mobile?
I'm not rooted at all just plain stock.
Thanks
My girlfriend's stock G2 was often acting weird where it would slow down to a crawl and become unresponsive until she rebooted. I decided to root it and put the latest stable CM7 on it for her. She loves it, but she still has this weird behavior once every day or two where it gets very slow and unresponsive. Swype acts weird for example, or she tries to launch an app and the icon magnifies in slow motion and gets frozen, or swiping between homescreens the display gets stuck half way between homescreens. Rebooting always gets it working normal again for a while. Any idea what's going on? This seems to have happened when she was running stock Gingerbread and now running CM7.
thx!
Hey guys, title pretty much says it all. I have had problems with Beautiful Widgets. It keeps randomly force closing. It usually happens after I wake the phone up. It will say beautiful widget has stopped worked then force close. The widget keeps working and everything. Anyone have any ideas? I have tried uninstalling and installing it. Any other tricks you guys have. I know it says that it is supported. I am running Revolution HD. Stock Kernel.

Have you tried a different rom? Im on aokp and haven't had any force close issues
No, I haven't tried a different rom. I will eventually be making my way to CM9, but wanted to wait another week or so. Nobody else on Rev HD is having issues with beautiful widgets. Which makes me think that it might be something with the application itself?
I haven't had any problems on gummy or CNA with multiple kernels. Clear cache and app data if that doesn't work; try to Uninstall/re install
I uninstalled, then installed again still had issues. I then cleared app data and it worked. I noticed that when i created a new widget the weather animation was disabled. The secondi turned it on. The force closes started again. any ideas on why the animation would cause this
did you get it from the market or somewhere else?

Weired. I used beautiful widgets on stock, aokp and apex with not problems whatsoever. Try wiping app data with titanium.
aahhh, finally got it. I ended up uninstalling the animation add on lol.. then re installing it. Beautiful widgets was using almost 100 megs of memory, now it's using 7 haha.... hope this helps someone if anyone else is having issues!
Thanks
does this happen to anyone else? i tried pm-ing the developer but no replies, it happened to the last version and i hated having to change to another rom and now the same thing is happening again... apps like instagram and video keeps crashing. any that can help?!?!?
update: I had frozen the jellybean keyboard through Titanium backup because of the annoying symbol that came on the status bar but after defrosting it and rebooting it seems to work fine. I will keep you posted on how it goes!
I have major lag issues when pressing the phone screen (the screen turns on sometimes 5 to 10 seconds after pressing the lock or home button), and the UI is very laggy at all times, apps like the keyboard sometimes take about 5-8 to load, and the gallery app takes sometimes as long as a minute to load.
The reason for the problem:
The problem started when I was trying to up a pic on instagram and then I opened the gallery to choose a picture, the phone lagged, thought this was something usual, waited for 1-2 mins, but the gallery app didn't load at all, the screen was black so I said what the heck, maybe a random hang, just tried to restard - phone did not respond so I removed the battery and after that the phone had major lag issues, before that I did not have any problem at all. This happened on stock android 4.2.2...
Here is what I did
I flashed stock 4.2.2, did everything as usual. wiped data after flashing and the phone was still laggy as f, I reverted to 4.1.2 which was smooth as butter and it lagged also... Now I flashed 4.2.2 a couple of times and the problem still persists. Thinking of getting it checked at the customer care centre, but before this happens I'd like to try to fix it on my own.
Any ideas, anyone ?

Tried it, lag still persists, this could be a hardware problem, as I mentiooned above the big lag issues started after the crash / black screen lag happened, so I am assuming something could have went wrong in the hardware part of the phone, softwarewise there should not be any lag, because Ive triet 4.1.2 and its completely lagless, now it lags like a mofo.
Thinking of brnging it to the customer care service, good thing the phone is still in warranty.
Dunno about the blackscreen but try using LagFix (it's on GPlay).
That app helped to me solve hanging issue I had.
