Does anyone know how to upgrade the PRI version on the Incredible. I have an AMOLED Incredible and my friend just bought a SLCD Incredible. Sitting side by side running a speed test, his phone is almost twice as fast as mine. Looking at the settings the only difference I can see is the PRI versions are different. Mine is 1.28_002 and his is 1.70_002. Does anyone know if this could be the reason why his is faster or perhaps it could be something else? If so, does anyone know how to update the PRI version?
I would also like to know how to do this, and what the latest stock verizon pri for the incredible is? I would also like to know if pri's are different for each verizon phone or just the same pri for the entire verizon network.
Sorry if this sound dumb im kimda a noob.
I updated mine by dialing *228 and choosing option 2
I am pretty sure *228 only updates the PRL not the PRI, But i could be wrong. Anyone else know if this is true or not?
well I was averaging 2 bars were I live with really slow data and lost signals on calls. Did the *228 with option 2 . Now I get full bars and excellent service. My pri is 1.70_002 and prl is 52169. So I'm assuming it worked.

You are correct. It would seem that the member you quoted is mistakenly thought the topic was in regards to the PRL rather than the PRI.
Me too!
I would also like to know how to update the PRI. My PRL is up to date after a *228, but PRI is still at 1.28_002.

I'm skeptical that the EVO PRI would be compatible. Seems like the PRI and PRL are more unique to the specific wireless carrier.
I may be wrong, but I won't be the first to find out if it doesn't work.
Anybody....
It's looking like nobody has an answer for this question. Maybe I'm a little impatient.

I doubt EVO PRI files would even flash; they are specific to the device. Anyhow, if you look on the EVO forums it seems a lot of people who manually updated their PRIs experienced data connectivity issues, so I wouldn't sweat it. I just returned a reconditioned AMOLED Dinc that had PRI 1.50, and compared to my first and current AMOLED DInc (which have 1.28), it wasn't any better or worse. Wikipedia seems to suggest that PRI is network resource control, although I didn't find anything specific to CDMA networks. If anything, I would bet it's the comm protocol compiled for specific chipsets' version/assembly date, thus the reason why various SLCD owners' have moderate --> High PRI version #s.
I too would like to know if incredible users can upgrade their pri like the evo guys
hey im curious to know if the evo on boost uses the same prl as sprint users?
and if so can some one try to flash the verizon 0001.prl on their boost evo phone to see if it works...
im thinking about getting the samsung galaxy prevail by boost but i know they use sprints data and in my area all i have is 1x....
thanks guys!
It's a pain to flash back to a sprint rom just to update the prl so I'm going to assume some things here. Boost mobile users can't roam on verizon like sprint users can which tells me that using a verizon prl will not work. But maybe someone less lazy will try it.
Ok,. So I have been getting really bad sprint service at my home. I recently just found the thread on how to update to custom PRL's on my phone. I am wanting to get some ideas from everyone about what custom PRL works best for them for roaming. Verizon has better coverage in my area but need some info about which specific PRL I should use. Any extra info would help. I live in the cincinnati, ohio area.
I am looking for the prl for ntelos. I have very limited data. Currently I have no 3g available and I know it is a good area. I think i have the wrong prl for my Droid 4. Does anyone know where I can find the correct one?
I know at one time this was possible to run a sprint phone off Verizon towers without having to do much to the phone. Is this possible still? I am way up north and I do not have great service and would like to do anything I can just to get better service

It used 2 be possible buy using certain verizon prl that would keep u in roam mode on verizon all the time but they have been kinda of forgotten or lost in the mix..i would search search and google for a while to find them they used be like 00001 00002 if i can remember also as far as i know i think freeza rom is the only one u can easily switch prl because it has prl write for a option but u may be able to do it the computer way search again thats all i can remeber .. sorry i just earsed those old prl from my sd card not thinking i would have a use for them. But many used them so they would get kicked off sprint for way to much of off network roaming, that might be the reason for them being hidden deap in the search world

I was able to find it. Sac28 note 5 Port is able to easily write prls as well
