If nothing else, you could go back to stock to regain phone functionality.

Having same problem as the op, also flashed to stock which did not do anything. My baseband is "unknown," if anyone has a solution to this please let us know. Thank you very much.

just odin to stok

Where did u get that rom from?

Oops, sounds like you flashed a GSM ROM. Do you have usb support to Odin a stock ROM?

This is correct. The rom you flashed is for GSM phones and not the Epic Touch. Search this forum and you'll find some solutions...which involve having to flash new radios as well as new stock kernel. Flashing just a stock kernel/rom isn't going to help you at this point...you'll need to restore the CDMA radios as well

[Q] Info on EL29, EH17, SRF12, & what they mean

Not sure what these numbers and letters mean....
Mine sais EL29, so i only flashed the ROM (Blazer ROM 4.0) that had all the same information as my phone displayed under "About Phone"....
This page http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=716 has a list of ROMs, a few of which i would like to use. Specifically the new ICS leaks (Hurry up SPRINT, release the ICS ALREADY!!)...
My question is... is the "EL29" "EH17" "SRF12" and all those others the firmware versions? Modem Versions? What are these? If a ROM specifies this information anywhere, will i have to upgrade or downgrade to the appropriate files (Or firmware) before flashing the ROM? I have no idea what these are or what they mean.
From what i've read and picked up, i know that some of these things will have to be done through ODIN and I think I read that some other things can be done through CWM, like flashing the ROM itself.
I just need a little more information on how flash ROMs properly concerning what needs to be done BEFORE you flash a new one
Things I already know:
1.) Must install a ROM compatible with your phone (DUH)
2.) Sometimes you gotta use ODIN (Is this only for root? Or do you use this to upgrade/downgrade modem firmware or something, too ?)
Also, what other file exensions should I be familiar with and what do they do? I just want to be able to modify my phone with no problems and a collection of links and bookmarks for me to pull it off. I'm not trying to be a programmer (yet =)
Any links specific to my questions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

WRONG SECTION
your looking for the epic touch this is the one with the keyboard.
But to answer your questions those are firmware versions that the ROM's are based on for our phone anyways.
Hahahaha. Dude typed all this crap just to find out he's in the wrong forum.

Well, we can still help...
EL29:
E = 2011
L = 12
29 = 29
So if this is a ROM, the base version was built on December 29, 2011 (apparently samsung employees worked the holidays...). If this is the modem version, guess what, the modem was built on December 29, 2011.
So to recap, the first letter is for the year, the second for the month and the last two for the day.
SRF1.2 = Syndicate ROM Frozen. This is an older ROM, based off of EC05 (March 5, 2011), and by the name, Android 2.2 (Frozen Yogurt). I don't know if there was an SRF for the Epic touch.

I already petitioned the mods and the big mods refused. That is why Jay posted the Non-Touch stickies but the problem with that is accessing with an app you don't see the stickies unless you click on that subject. Viewing from a PC also has a picture of our phone with keyboard open.

I'm brand spanking new to the Galaxy Nexus... still having a radio issue each time I flash a from, only way I can get radio to work after an install, is to boot back into recovery and restore a boot.img of a stock Android I have after a fresh Odin and an ota to FD02.
Could this help?
Flash before or after a from install
(Please refer me to a full explaination of why cm roms bork my radio)
Thanks in advance, just trying to get my feet under me on a new device and yes I have read a lot.

Sextape has a very good source. He gave us several ICS tar leaks on the Epic Touch ( this part edited for wrong information) but yeah I flashed several of the stock ICS tars he leaked on my ET4G....edit..if you are headed to Dallas you may want to wait and see how the radio you have works first

OK then scratch that. Will edit that. Thanks shabby.
no problem man just would hate to see an old wives tale from the og epic continue on. it was told to keep the people who had the leaks from sharing.
ok i apparently am the only idiot who cant flash this stuff. flashed both in fastboot properly and i have fg01 on lte yet no matter what i do cdma stays fd02. we have confirmations that both turn to fg01.. just not for me :O

Finally some clarification there. Thanks again. My friend was in Dallas last night with his GNex and S3. The GNex grabbed LTE in a certain spot but only kept it for a minute where the S3 kept the signal as he drove. Hopefully this may help

Agreed ^^^
Thanks will give that a shot, it was not from there I am sure, it was from a post in the ROMs section. Sorry for the n00b question.
I used to root and update alot back in my Moto Cliq days.

Cannot find correct files to root E4GT D710 in ODIN... (ICS 4.0.4) see screeshot...

Hi I am a long time user and developer for windows mobile devices (WM5/WM6), and have switched over to android for many years now... but just now am having the time to explore cooking with android, using ADK, rooting androids, etc... So i thought id wait on doing anything serious with my SIII and note2, and for now im working on my epic touch 4g.... I have most of all the software i need for windows and for the actual process of flashing, rooting, cooking, etc, but I CANNOT FIND THE CORRECT FILES TO USE IN ODIN TO ROOT MY DEVICE. AND I AM NOT SURE THE BEST WAY TO TELL WHICH VERSIONS OF RADIOS/ROMS/KERNELS/BL'S ARE INTERCHANGEABLE AS WELL.... BELOW IS A LIST OF ALL OF MY DEVICES HW/FW VERSIONS FOR REFERECE... (RUNNING ICS 4.0.4). COULD SOMEONE WITH MORE ANDROID EXPERIENCE PLEASE CHIME IN AND LET ME KNOW WHICH FILES I NEED TO USE IN ODIN TO ROOT THIS EPIC TOUGH 4G FOR ICS 4.0.4? id appreciate any help bc im anxious to check out some roms and start on cooking a few myself... thanks.

(btw i have tried two files so far but once they were flashed it gave me the yellow triangle and displayed as a gti900 model, and never went past splash screen... although the forum suggested they would work
I realize this seems elementary (especially being that I was quite proficient when I used to build WM roms, but android is a different animal and I want to start off right since i plan to start cooking again.... Sorry if this is silly to some, but it wouls really help me out... thanks
thank you all for any advice to help me get goin on this again, i miss doin this!!!

You might wanna ask a mod to move this to the Q&A section before the ib4tl folks start in on ya...
Yea, like posted above you can use a full restore rooted odin or one_click to get root. Assuming you didn't bone the phone with the files you tried.

Yes, i think your right, if the mods wanna move this to Q&A, please feel free to do so... dont wanna get anyone strted on that rant, lol... but no everything ive tried so far has just put me down temporarily and ive been able to reflash stock ICS from samsung using the .tar file in ODIN, thank god! i just cant seem to find the one that works right..

Sprint S3 Flashed to Boost Question

Hi I'm sorry if this has already been answered , but is it safe to just flash any sprint/boost Rom to the Sprint version of the s3 ? Again it is flashed to Boost currently , so would putting a boost ROM instead of "modified" sprint stock ROM work ?
Sorry if it sounds confusing I just wanted to clear that up, in my eyes I'm figuring that since it is sprint, and flashed to boost, installing a new ROM would mess with the flash and put it back to sprint, which of course we don't want.
I just wanted to double check with the community before flashing away, thanks in advance for any answers.

I believe it would work just fine, i recently flashed a stock sprint ROM to my out of box Boost S3, Problem here is you might find it difficult getting Boost Stock ROMs especially the JB 4.3. you might also want to do NAM Backup before you proceed in flashing.
