[Q] Ant+ and Garmin accessories - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I went searching for Android devices that support the ant+ specification, or accessories to support them, and came across the Xperia line of devices that use a particular TI wireless chipset with built in ANT+ support.
Has anyone, or can anyone check to see if the current stock Rom has support for these accessories, while I know the device has support, I want to make sure that Sony included it in the current build.
Mods: move to development if you feel it should be there.

The Xperia Active, which is built with the same chip set as the play, does have ant + support. I guess they didn't program ant + support in the play because of marketing reasons.
The Xperia active is released in some places already, but I'm not certain where. There is a forum about the device in XDA (shared with the new Mini and mini pro), so feel free to go there and ask.

[Q] Which ROM supports NFC payment

Hello,
I'm new here.
Here is my question and issue which I can't find answer for.
My bank have a payment application which uses NFC technology but it requires Android 4.4 and up for it to work.
Galaxy Fame have NFC support right? But what about near field payments? Which ROM supports NFC and payments?
There is a Cyanogenmod11 by wulsic, its Android 4.4.x, I can't find anything about NFC, is it working or not on this ROM.
And what about Cyanogenmod12.1 by faizauthar12? It would be sweet to have NFC payments on this low-end device.
Anyone know something about it?
After moding for performance honestly, I'm really liking this little device now. Its kinda cute compare to 5.5" screen device
well :/
if i can found Broadcom device by samsung using NFC ,maybe it can
cuz,Grand duos,pocket,music doesnt have it
also
am using S6810 variant, which is the first version + without NFC
and S6810P have NFC support

As far as I could gather, yes, it is possible to get Nougat.
Things we will NOT GET, because of the GPU we have are: OpenGL 3.1 / Vulkan. Those two are only embedded in Adreno 400 and upwards.
This would mean that there is a chance for problems with games that might migrate above OpenGL 3.0 (which we have).
As far as I'm aware, the differences between 3.1 and 3.0 are in the addition of new libraries, so if the game needs those new libraries 100% and doesn't offer a fallback option, we won't be able to play them.

Actually not a problem of xiaomi but of **** Google.
This is Android (and OEMs and Qualcomm) not looking far ahead to support devices. They don’t care about customers. After sale support non-existent.
Why is Apple able to support iPhone 5s (same age as Nexus 5) with iOS 10 and later? Because Apple made it compatible with METAL apk from day 1. Because it has hardware encryption since day 1.
Why is Apple able to support iPhone 5 (4 years old) with iOS 10? Because Apple is willing to!!! IPhone 5 does not support METAL nor does it have ARMv8 chip…yet iPhone 5 is getting iOS 10…minus raise to speak to Siri…it is getting 99% of iOS 10 features.
Remember, major software updates also bring with it security features beyond “monthly patches.”
So, with all the resources of software (Google) and hardware (OEM’s and Qualcomm), Android cannot support Nexu 5 and the likes?! It is like buying a laptop (since most phones cost the same) and can only use it for 2 years. That’s insane!
When will Android community wake up and demand more? Google, OEMs, and Qualcomm will only listen if money talks.
And it is this crap that explains horrible re-sale value of Android flagships!

We can't reach the Galileo satellite in Europe.

Hello everybody,
I wonder why we can't reach the Galileo satellite here in Europe, while the our snapdragon 820 processor support this satellite.
The same says also Qualcomm in they site here:
https://www.qualcomm.com/news/relea...pport-galileo-across-snapdragon-processor-and
I'm using navigon and also a test software from play store, and compare with galaxy s8 it has support Galileo, our Zuk z2 plus hasn't.
Maybe somebody knows why?
Thnx!
The CPU may support the function but its a OEM choice to "enable" the function on the phone. Since the phone isnt made by just the CPU, in order to accommodate others functions for another ICs, or to "cripple" functions based on region only, or even if they dont want to pay royalties for the use of the tecnology, they may not implement all the functions the Chipset supports. This is true for the Quick Charge 3.0, for instance. Commonly used on all SD820 phones, isnt avaiable on Zuk Z2 saddly...

Thnx for your answer, at least I know why!
And it is sad.For the rest and for €164 is wonderful phone ?
I was wondering the same. According to gsmarena, no phone exists with a snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) and supports Galileo. Therefore I doubt that Qualcomm offers this driver/software to manufacturers for our soc.
Since Qualcomm is american, and Galileo is in direct competition with the GPS, they may have disabled it to cripple the ability of the EU to spread the compatibility for its positioning system.

Nope only the Zuk Edge supports it.
It seems that the Chinese Beidou satellites can be used without problem on my Z2. However I can't see Galileo ones either. There're only three types of satellites, probably, on the GPS test app: GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU.

Adding Mirror Link

Is there a way to add mirrorlink to a none-mirrorlink supported device? I have a Pixel XL and had a Nexus 6P before and had a Nexus 5 before, and none of these devices are mirrorlink enabled, is there a way to make them support mirrorlink so I can get them to work in my car?
I'm very interested in getting to know this as well.
Me too.
I don't thimk it can be done. It has something to do with the hardware.
None of the technical info available suggest a hardware based solution.
I have found there is a Pionner app -Pioneer makes the HU for Toyota Aygo and its derivates Citroen C1 and Peugeot 108- that allows using iPhone 4S with the HU, as documented here:
https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=!ACgTtm6attduZMg&id=4B4745D8612A4C3!272&cid=04B4745D8612A4C3
Interesting thing is, this doesn't seem to be Mirrorlink per se, so there are chances that at least Pioneer based Mirrorlink HU can be made to connect to smartphones by other methods.
Hi,
I am looking for skilled developer who could add MirrorLink feature to Lenovo P2 (custom ROM).
According to VW site there are some Lenovo compatible phones with car infotainment, but not P2.
Simply I want this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNlIbFHI6oM
I can donate and pay extra money if you can do that - PM me.
