Hi all,
I recently flashed my partners desire with Cool3d aces v3. Along with cm new hboot. All is running perfect, but ever since the phone randomly makes a strange sound, like white noise, or a high pitch buzzing.
Its definitely not vibrating and definitely a sound, it happens when the phone is idle, and has even happened when the phone is booting up. The sound only last few a few seconds.
Any1 got any ideas to what this could be?? Or her phone jst haunted?
Thanks.

Hmm... Not seen an issue like that before.
Possibly trying a complete rom reflash could help.
Open the weather, go to settings and disable the sound for the anims. I'm guessing it's just a long delay before it plays for some reason
Thanks for the replies.
I have turned the weather sounds off, so will give that a day or two, to see if the sound is still happenening. If not will try a fresh install from scratch.

Hi
Has anyone noticed a problem with their Desire where their phone makes a weird/strange noise, like something is loose in the phone, when it vibrates a bit, e.g. when pressing keys on the keyboard? It started a bit on my Desire and it's slowly gotten worse so the point where people can notice it when I'm using the keyboard (and it really p***es me off!)
So I ordered a Desire HD and within a week I've noticed it doing the same although more quietly, but I'm worried it will start really loud again!
Cheers,
Scott
Its just the vibrating mechanism also the auto focus will vibrate as well so that also makes a noise.

I understand that but the Desire is really, really loud - definitely something else vibrating in there now, not just the auto focus!
What's worrying is my Desire HD didn't do it to start with, and now it is, albeit not as loud as the Desire, but still worrying because I don't want it to happen again (one of the reasons I got rid of the Desire early)
I also have a 2nd Desire HD here and it wasn't doing it a min ago, I held on vibrate (held volume down) for 30 secs or so and now it's doing it same as the other Desire HD - so they don't do it to start with!
Cheers
Scott
Its perfectly normal I'd your that bothered turn haptic feedback off.

From what I've found out its the speaker that rattles when typing. Are you on a custom Rom? Maybe try turning down the haptic feedback, mine isn't half as bad since I did that.

Oh yea the speaker does that too.

You probably have a defect vibrator! I had the same problem and took it to service where they changed the vibrator - now everything is fine again. ;-)
Okay so I noticed a few days ago that the silent mode wasn't working on my G2 when my phone rang despite it being in that mode. The icon was in the status bar, and I couldn't figure out how to make it actually become silent. It had worked before, but I'm not sure exactly when it stopped working. So yesterday, to try to eliminate any problems, I wiped user data, and pretty much everything and flashed a fresh install of CM 7.0.3. I tried putting the phone into silent mode through settings, through the lockscreen slider, and ultimately by trying to just use the volume rocker. It was then that I noticed that on the volume prompt that the silent mode icon was showing but there was still a bit of the volume percentage left in the bar. I really can't figure out what to do now, suggestions?
Reflash rom or try another

I'm having the same issue on MyTouch 3G Slide. It was working normally for the few months that I flashed this ROM... but for me it started after I replaced the Flex Cable the other day.
Playing with the "Sound" and "CyanogenMod Settings > Sound" settings does not do anything. The only way to really get silence is to manually slide the volume bar in the "Sound" settings to empty. Some things still have sound though such as my camera focus/shutter - before I was able to take a photo silently but not there's the ridiculously loud camera noise.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay so after flashing Virtuous, MIUI, and CM7.1 RC1, my problem still persisted. I was finally about to give up, so I just flashed a backup I had from about two weeks ago. When I restarted the phone, the volume settings were just fine, and back to a normal state. I must've flashed something recently that messed it up
@Hvargas
I'm not really that experienced with these kind of hardware problems, sorry bud
Htc desire hd A9191 vibration not working for any of the roms
1. Rcmix runny v 4.0
2. Virtuous affinity 1.48
3. Miui 1.12.2
Any suggestions would this be a hardware problem

If it doesn't vibrate when you turn on the phone, then its a hardware problem. Failing that, its a software problem.

Thanks would require to have this replaced then

Ive been having same problem aswell, not a major issue as mine still vibrates when the phone is switched on, but i was curious as to why it never vibrated for notification's, the only issue i have with it not being able to vibrate is, i personally hate ring-tones of all kinds, and have my ring/phone tone set to silent so sort of rely on vibrate to know of an incoming call. Other than that i guess im just going have to wait till this bug gets sorted, I'm using CM7 7.1.0-DesireHD

This might sound ridiculous but you looked in the settings right? If I'm not mistaken for texts atleast vibrate is turned off as default

And as i said it works fine with the screen on.. Thats the wierd thing.

Hi everyone,
I am having an odd issue. Regardless of the rom I use, very often when either I make a call or receive a call my screen will go black as soon as I answer it or it connects.
The problem though is, i Can't get the screen to go back on until the call disconnects. If I do get the screen to go on by mashing the buttons, the second I get back to the screen that shows the call it goes black again.
Also, at the same time when this happens, people cant hear me, it sounds like I'm in a tunnel according to them. I literally have to scream. The only way I can take call normally is hope it doesnt go black instantly and switch it to speaker phone. Then it works fine.
I am currently running carbon 4.4.2, but its not a rom issue in my opinion as this was happening when I ran Liquid and paranoid.
Any ideas, its getting to the point where its getting very annoying.
Thanks again!
I'd Odin to stock.
And start customizing my phone 1 step at a time to see if something I had running was causing the problem.
