So I started working on my own theme a while ago. Most of it is pretty simple stuff. Mostly work I've done using Ninja Morph. But I wanted to create a flashable zip in case I needed to wipe my phone for some reason and reapply the theme. So I looked up directions on how to create a theme(http://www.incredibleforum.com/forum/htc-incredible-themes/6020-[tutorial]-how-make-themes.html)
I followed this as best I could and put everything in a zip file and transfered it to my phone. When I tried to flash it, it gave me an error(error 6 I think). Can anyone tell me what I am missing to get this to work?
I'll attach the zip I made so anyone can take a look at it. I call it DragonBread. I am running OMFGB 1.2.0. I'll try to attach some screen shots of what it looks like on my phone too.
Edit: Ok so for whatever reason, I cant upload my zip file. I have tried both zip and rar. Any ideas?

Had to upload on media fire. Someone check this out and let me know what is going on. Thanks.
Can nobody help me with this?

first of all bro if you didnt mod any of the jars get rid of them. they are rom specific. you want framework-res.apk and com.htc.resources and any apps you modded. if you have not modded any of the apps take them out.
if you did mod a jar leave it in but it sounds like your not there yet with your experience. also if your just swapping images use 7zip on your laptop or computer. ninjamorph is fun but i only use that on my phone when im not near my laptop.
im assumig you have a dinc. is this an aosp rom your on because i dont see sense in your theme.
also your probably not getting help because to just vaguely say error 6 is not any information. post exactly what errors you are recieving and what recovery you are using. also what rom are you on? and did you use the same framework for your theme.
I didn't see anything in that link you provided in the OP about signing the zip too.

Ok. CWM 2.5.x is my recovery. As for the error that is about all the info it gives me. It says error in sdcard/download/Dragonbread.zip (status 6). That's all the info it gives me so that's all the info I can give you.

I was wondering about signing. I'm also wondering if it might be easier to do this as a Meta Morph theme instead.

I figured but you have no idea the mistakes people make on xda.
Your zip script looks good tho you have something in there Iv e never seen before. Try updating to the newest clockwork

Here try this and see if it works. Upgrade your CWM to the newest version and then flash this. I removed all the apk's that you did not touch and the jar's that you have not touched and it made it alot smaller. I also updated your script to the 3.0 CWM version. Please note. IF Your ROM has a newer verion that works on the new CWM Then Upgrade it. After you flash the new CWM all backups that you have will not work as it is saved for the older version of CWM.

I looked at the script file and it had a blank line at the top before the words started. Is that supposed to be like that? I took that line out and re zipped the file and tried to flash it. It doesn't give me an error, but now it just says installation aborted. Any ideas?

Hey guys,
So I have a Droid Incredible 2, and I, like many others, was super excited to get my hands on the 2.1.6 ROM. However, I've tried flashing it every way I can possibly think of, and I always get the same error:
"assert failed: getprop ("ro.product.device") == "vivo"... etc
E:Error in /sdcard/downloaded_rom_miuiandriod... etc
(Status 7)
Installation aborted"
What is going on?! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
*Actually, I just tried to flash the cyanogenmod rom as well, and I am getting the same error. I've done a factory reset/wipe, re-flashed clockwork mod, and re-installed rom manager and I am still getting the same error.

However, I am still having this same problem when I try to flash ANY rom, not just one that is not compatible with my phone...
The backup/restore features of clockwork mod work fine, but whenever I go to flash a new rom, I get the same error message listed above. Anyone know what is wrong and how to fix this issue?

Alright, so I have compared the md5sums of my current rom and a miui rom for the incredible 2, and the result is that they are not the same.
What is the next step? Also if anyone wouldn't mind, can you tell me why I have never had this problem before downloading and flashing any roms before, and now it is suddenly an issue after i flashed a CM7 rom?
Thank you for the help.
The cksums will be for the rom you download, each download has it's own.If you want MIUI use 12.9 its the most stable with everything working it's the one I am running with areoevans .7 BFS kernel.
You may wanna try going to mounts and storage, and then wipe system before flashing.

Yes and no. It obviously wipes, but that's the only similarity. Where factory reset hits data and cache, it doesn't wipe anything in the system folder. That can help most of the time.
Try going here and getting 1.11.25 which is the one I've had the best of luck with. Check md5sum before flashing and make sure uiu wipe everything like stated before.
Might wanna try 4EXT recovery touch, as it has a built in superwipe option that literally wipes everything but your SD card.

Ok, I will certainly do all that is suggested above, and post the results.
Question though: I've scoured google, and I can't find the answer.. When I check the md5sum, I have an app for such a purpose, but it requires two md5's so it can compare them... I use the MIUI rom for one of them, and what about for the other?
******
I flashed the MIUI rom suggested above (thanks tylerlawhon) and it worked perfectly !
I would still like some answers to a couple things though if anyone wouldn't mind helping me out...
How do you check the md5sums using an android, and what was the initial cause of my problem, which I had never experienced previously when flashing roms?
Thank you for the help!

For me, I find what ROM I wanna use, go to this link, and download it from there and they give you the md5 for each file. Copy/paste that into one box and find the file with the app and use the sum they give you from that, and hit compare.

Oookayy, so if I am understanding you correctly, then to flash a rom, both the current rom and the one you want to flash have to have matching md5's?

No, look for the version of MIUI you're wanting to flash in the list on the site I linked to, copy the md5 of that version, paste that into the first box, using the "md5 from a file (or whatever it says)" find your file you downloaded before (or download the one from the site if you don't have the zip yet), when it gives the sum, hit compare and if they match up you're good to flash.
If they don't match, redownload the file. Try another mirror..

I had a backup of stock before root but when i tried to back up to it today it gave me a md5 mismatch so i couldnt back up to it. From what I seen in beaups thread that I need to be on a stock rom and stock kernal for his s-off method to work. Is there a stock rom that I could flash to use the s-off method?
I'd like this answered as well. I think andy's stock rom near the bottom of the page works, but I haven't had a confirmation yet. Also wondering if odex versus deodexed versions matter.
Same boat im in just waiting for somebody to say which one we can use when we are already rooted and unlocked. I dont know how my md5's mismatched on my stock before root backup but I can't go back to it so Im kinda stuck here until we get a answer.

IIRC: If you have an md5 mismatch while trying to restore in a recovery, try this process:
IF YOU HAVE A BACKUP I HIGHLY SUGGEST STORING THE BACKUP FILE ON YOUR DESKTOP JUST IN CASE!!!!
Boot into whatever ROM you're on ATM.
Browse to your ClockworkMod (or TWRP backup must have an accessible folder for it's backups) using a Root file explorer, which I happen to use "Root Explorer" and open the backup file you just made.
Inside of that will be a nandroid.md5.
Delete that file and reboot into recovery, and try restoring again.

Ok i found it it was under /data/media/clockworkmod/backup but i dont see any files inside of that that are a md5 file im going to look in the data.ext4.tar file and the system.ext4.tar.a. Does any of those ring a bell? i see the boot.img, data.ext4.tar.a, recovery.img, system.ext4.tar.a, and system.ext4.tar.b. Thats all the files inside the backup i made before i rooted.

I understand, but I mean that in that logfile it's an old one. I updated it hours ago after you said to. I will provide a new log after I'm done with this class.

this still not the latest.
Huh. Is there anyway I can revert to an older version and try to mass update to the newest? I swear, I just got done doing the new one, 2.6.3-3

2.6.3.1 is the latest.
2.6.3-3 means the 3rd build of the 2.6.3.
That explains it. I got it to work, thanks a ton. Keep up the good work!

Getting Error with the Official Build 4.4.4
Hi Guys,
I'm getting the error "set_metadata_recursive: some changes faile
E:Error in /sdcard/cm-4.4.4-20141002-OFFICIAL-i927.zip(Status 7)"
The phone is now stuck in recovery.
I had placed the file in the internal memory of the phone.
I tried by placing it the external sd card earlier but i couldn't select it in the choose zip option.
i have CMW recovery v5.0.2.7 installed on my captivate.
Can you please advise.

Hi Bubor,
Thanks for the help last time and sorry for the late reply. I've been really busy lately.
I've installed the Rom and it is pretty smooth.
But I did notiice the below problems.
1. The music player, when minimized, does not play the songs correctly.
The sound is muffled or completely drained.
2. If the screen is on, incoming calls don't show on the screen
They to into the background and only visible in Notification bar.
Can you please let me know if this is just with my device or an actual bug
