It took a little playing around but I figured it out you will the following to get started:
Requirements:
Blackberry Torch 9850 from Sprint
MSL Code to your phone (buy at www.blackberryunlocking.us) same day return time
BlackBerry Torch 9850 from Sprint are SIM disabled by default meaning they are already unlocked for any GSM network if you want to edit and remove the Activation required message follow the instructions below
In previous Blackberry's you would enter ##000000 to get into the programming menu, This time RIM has made a small change instead of using 0 use your MSL code see below:
Solution
Press Talk Button
Type: "##3378473" <-- 3378473 is just an example MSL replace with your MSL code
Press Talk Button Again
Edit the Mobile Network # with yours (e.g 9999999999) 10 digits including your area code
Press Menu Blackberry Button
Select save
Phone will Say "write successful" and begin resetting.
Phone Activation required will not display after reset

So a lot of people have noticed that once they upgraded to mango their MMS no longer worked. The following are instructions to get MMS functional again on HTC, LG, and Samsung. I figured out the HTC method and helping others I have found how to do the same thing for LG, and Samsung. I hope this helps others and maybe we stop seeing a new thread everyday on how to fix the MMS settings.
NOTE: Your data plan must be turned on to receive MMS messages. If your plan is turned on and you are still having trouble receiving MMS messages find your device below to get it working again.
Data off = NO MMS / VISUAL VOICEMAIL
Data ON = YES MMS / VISUAL VOICEMAIL
HTC METHOD (This method is for unlocked devices only. I am currently unaware on how to reset the flag on locked devices)
1st: Go To This Post and download the XAP
2nd: Since you are unlocked use whatever program to deploy the app to your phone.
3rd: Once deployed find HTC-ProvXML-Deploy in your app list. Launch it and press the green button. When it is done. Reboot your phone and get a friend to send you an mms. It will now work.
*Side note: Some users have had some success simply downloading the "Connection Setup" app in the HTC apps marketplace. Try this first if you are locked or uncomfortable running a provxml file on your device.
LG METHOD (Works on locked or unlocked as far as I know)
1st: Launch the MFG app (For this you must install the MFG application:
in call menu enter ##634# and press call button. Wait few sec up to 3min during the MFG installation. In the application menu use MFG and enter the password: 277634#*# and press enter)
2nd: Go to the Engineer Menu > Other Setting
3rd: Open the Edit Registry item
- Chose HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE from the 1. drop down
- Enter System\AutoDataConfig for the Input SUB_PATH
- Enter the following four entries for the Input KEY (and chose DWORD instead of String)
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\AutoDataConfig]
"RunADC"=dword:1
"ConfigurationStatus"=dword:0
"Attempt"=dword:0
"MaxAttemptsAllowed"=dword:3
4th: Hit Query to find the current value
5th: Type in the proper value (if needed) for the Input Data field and hit Set
6th: Hit Query one last time to verify and then reboot.
*Side note: Some users have had some success simply downloading the "Network Settings" app in the LG apps marketplace. Try this first if you are uncomfortable messing with the registry.
SAMSUNG (By far the easiest. Works on Locked and Unlocked devices.
1st: Go to marketplace.
2nd: Go to "Samsung Zone" and download "Network Profile". Run it and reboot phone.
*Side note. Some users have noticed that this doesn't work if Network Profile does not have your carrier. If that be the case then you will need to be unlocked and go to This thread, download Samsung Tools, and run the ADC Option.
I hope this helps!
For LG users, jst download Network settings, a free app available at LG apps in marketplace, select your operator and ur done.
No nd to edit in mfg menu.

I will add that info if it works for some people. I know that "Connection Setup" for HTC users is apparently hit or miss as is the "Network Profile" for Samsung users.
I had MMS problems, but I found out it was because my data needed to be on.
Data off = NO MMS / VISUAL VOICEMAIL
Data ON = YES MMS / VISUAL VOICEMAIL
T-Mobile.

Most people already know this but I will add the information. This is mostly for people like myself and countless others where the data plan was turned on, but MMS messages still would not come through after the upgrade to mango.
Unfortunately this doesn't let you send videos via MMS
unfortunately samsung has recently been trimming apps from their spot on the marketplace, one of which was "network profile." so currently on new samsung devices this is no longer possible.
on a side note, i have been able to send and recieve mms video and pictures longer than i have had a smartphone, mms also works as e-mail, i do not know all carriers but for at&t all you have to do is send the email to [phone number]@att.net, if the recieving phone supports it, it will work. and since wp7 supports email you're good to go. The same works for sending from dumbphones, in the to: field instead of a phone number use an email address.
Hi
This damned *#*#4636#*#* menu!!!
I know, I shouldn't be messing with what I don't know but I moved from an iphone so that I could 'fiddle' with a phone hence the GNex.
Anyhow. I have been having serious issues in sorting this out until I pieced the information together in this post. None of this I can take credit for - as it is built on others work - I just put it together in one easily accessible place.
The problem is that this menu somehow wipes the SIM card's record of the SMSC number.
You can't just enter the SMS Centre number as it is, you have to convert it into something called PDU format (no idea what this is)
I have converted a number of UK SMS Centre numbers into the correct format below.
Method:
1. Go to phone dialpad.
2. Enter *#*#4636#*#*
3. Scroll down to the bit that says SMSC
4. Type your sixteen digit number in from the table below.
5. Press Update
6. Press Refresh
7. Press Back button to exit the app.
8. Test by sending an SMS
Hope that helps. The GNex doesn't give an option which is easily accessible from anywhere to change the SMSC number, downright silly as my 10 year old Nokia would let me do that.
Just to help a few peoples out in the UK:
Network, Number, SMSC to type in
Vodafone (Monthly), +447785016005, 0791447758100650
O2 (Monthly), +447802000332, 0791448720003023

Tesco, +447802092035, 0791448720900253
Virgin, +447958879890, 0791449785788909

Hope that helps someone out there as it helped me. I've been pulling out my hair all day...

This should be stickied in the Q&A section
My PDU number was not in this list, i solved this by moving my sim card to an old phone, and inserting the phone number there.

I am trying to change the SMSC number of my HTC t-mobile G2 via *#*#4636#*#* command through phone information screen.
But I get no reaction from the device though I push the update and refresh buttons.
And I am still unable to send sms with my phone. I checked also with the service provider. No problem from their side...
Is this hopeless?
I found these codes used on the dial pad of Nokia phones. I've tried a couple but since I have no knowledge of them I figured I'd post them and hope a more experienced person could educate us. Enter code and hit call button. I highlighted the ones I tried with the results I experienced. All the messages displayed in top left corner via bubble box.

what does it means when i typed some code in and it said, " unexpected data value"?
Probably what is sounds like...you did something unexpected... ie.. the result was unexpected...
Its probably a generic error that is trying to say "I don't know what you did but stop that"

You should not need to press dial to input the code. Mostly likely the code tried is not supported by the handset. That is a very generic list of Nokia codes, some will work and others will not.
I thought ##634# installed the Diag app. ##DATA# Just gives you cell info and tests.
Subscribed. Curious to see where this goes. Some of those codes look interesting and makes me wonder if there are any others
A lot of these don't work on ATT Lumia 900
So how do you get the "*" to work? Long pressed and typed in various ways.

Im selling my Sprint GS3 as rooted, and I wiped everything so the rom is freshly installed, but under about device / status / it still shows the Sprint username associated with the account and my phone number and MIN. Is there any way to delete those blocks before selling the phone to a new buyer? I know that goes away once they activate it on their own, but I'd like to get rid of that data so they can't see it period.
**Try at your own risk**
Do you know your phone's MSL#?
If yes, then this is how I have always done it with my previous Samsung phones.
To delete your Sprint username, go to "Phone" and dial ##DATA# (##3282#)
"Data programming" screen should show up. Tap "Edit" and it should ask for your phone's MSL#. I'm currently using the MOAR Rom so for some reason it bypasses the MSL screen. Then tap "Data Profile" where you will be able to delete or edit your "Username"
For editing or deleting your MDN/MIN, go to "Phone" and dial ##MSL#. If your MSL is 123456 dial ##123456#
"MSL NAM info" should show up then tap "Edit" to edit or delete your numbers. I usually just put all zeros. Phone may restart after doing this.
Hope that works for you.
Hi,
I have been using my phone with other carriers and decided to switch to ATT Prepaid. The phone is the unlocked /unbranded version SM-906U1
Whenever I reboot phone, I get a popup, sometimes before logging in with passcode , sometimes right after - "refer to quick start guide for activation instructions" - once in awhile, not always I also get a popup "USSD code failed"
I wonder if that is an automatic USSD code designed to deactive the activation popup
CSR was of no help
