hey guyss
had my desire z for awhile. Flashed about 20 roms already and lots of fun with them, currently my reception has been terrible and i want to know how a new radio.
Q: what is the best radio currently available for the NAM BELL Dezire Z?
my specs
android 2.3.2
kernal - mexdroid kernal provided (Flippys kernal)
never ever updated my htc dezire z using the update system, so it has the version that was launched with it
Radio - 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Important part here: i rooted and S-Offed using the Hboot method & Visionary R12 method from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9143423&postcount=3, and have not touched that stuff since. i used Hboot to get S-OFF in the gtrab guide. Other than that just some tips to flashing a radio. (heard theres a .zip i can flash thorough recovery.)
thanks
edit** paranoid a bit cause it may brick, but if i follow some Proper detailed instructions i should be okay. First time here in radio area.
Honestly, Just follow the directions exactly how they are posted and you should be fine.

You should download all 7 different radios flash & use them each for a couple of days and compare. I'm on 02.27_M myself & I'm getting better network coverage, faster download & upload's and better wifi coverage. From what I've read results will vary so you have to see wich one works best for you.

Hey,
The radio link in my signature is the one that I am using for my DZ on the Telus network. It's much more accurate than the stock one that came with it and more accurately depicts when I'm in a 3G/3G+/H network and the signal seems to be more stable. The best part of radios is that if one doesn't work, you can always just flash over it with an older/newer one or the original one.

In the Droid Incredible 2 section there's a tab that says Android Development. From there you would look for Skyraiders ROM.

hi guys
I have a chance to get htc one x cheaper from china because my friend goes to china (I live in UK).
Is any difference between european and chinese version?
Can chinese version be flashed to custom rom as well as UK version?
Based on my experience, I think u can flash custom roms as usual. After u have rooted ur phone, all phones from different region will be the same when it comes to custom Rom. The only thing that can make a difference is cdma and gsm.

so do you think phone will work with no problems?
anyone else any ideas? thanks
No differences other than region. You might get official updates a couple weeks later as x.x.401 models get updates first.
You can get any where you need , just the OTA gets delayed by region. All other things are same in all country HOX
Hey guys,
I'm a total noob and will probably make a total fool of myself with my questions..
I had the Virgin Mobile HTC WFS (marvelc) phone in the states... Now I'm back in India and need to switch networks.. For that I've been told I need to unlock the phone and install a new OS (basically drop the virgin OS).. I've got the procedure and the files to s-off and root the phone.. what should I do next?
Thanks for any help!!

Call virgin mobile and get the 6 digit msl code for your wildfire s, that will unlock it, but
i dont think you could use the phone on another network, unless maybe you flash another firm ware? maybe a member here can chime in on this

Not sure of "stable" but someone has made CM9 for marvelc/virgin mobile phones. The creator of it has also made multiple ROMs for marvelc if you go to his profile. Heres the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714550

Are there CDMA networks in India? If so, then help can be given. If there are only GSM phones in India, then you will have to get a new phone.
A GSM radio (and especially a full RUU) CANNOT be flashed on a CDMA phone. It will NOT work; you will brick your device.

@kalaker-There are a few CDMA networks around here.....so there musn't be any problem as far as Radio is concerened
@agarwalayush-S-OFF your phone,root it.....insert the CDMA sim you want.....and wait a bit.
The main dev of CM9(Modpunk) is bringing support to Marvelc(he added it in the current release but it doesnt seem to work correctly as of now)

You don't have a SIM card on CDMA. Only GSM networks have SIM cards.
Also, Simon already has a stable (for a beta) build in his CM9 thread for Marvelc. Modpunk will have to start a new branch to full support Marvelc.

The only one is beta version. It's a good, stable ROM, though.
The link is in the second post in the thread.
Known Issues:
No Camera
No Bluetooth
No Wi-Fi tether
my only thought is if you had an India cdma phone that's active you can back up the AAA key and flash that to your phone (its not like flashing a ROM)

My Model Number : HTC_A510c
ROM : 1.02.652.00
S-off, root, install custom recovery like cwm. Then you can flash one of the many roms for the marvelc.

I recently purchased a One V from Cricket and the stock firmware truly isn't bad so far. Minimal micro lags and such but I'm an Android mod-a-holic and I would like to go the whole 9 yards with this device. My only question is if recovery for the Virgin Mobile version can be flashed on the cricket one. I've looked through this whole forum and so far I've gathered yes but I really would hate to brick my brand new phone.
Of course you can, otherwise cricket guys wouldn't ask for roms and stuff  the only problem you could meet is an high radio with wouldn't let you flash roms, so if you did the most recent ota, ask the developer if it's ok to flash before doing that
