Depends, you on aosp or sense? Froyo or gingerbread?
If aosp I would go for tiamat.
If sense gingerbread, go for chopsuey or lithid freedom. My phone prefers chopsuey.
If sense froyo, try netarchy.

Synergy is the best for Sense 3.0. I'm looking into CM7, but I want tips on how to get at least a days worth of a battery (kernel, scripts, etc).

OC/UV Kernel for 2.1 GingerSense

Guys,
I am having a heck of a time finding a Kernel for 2.1 stock rooted Ginger. I am currently running JCase's Gingerbread Kernel but it doesnt give UV options. Any opinions or links.
Zax10
If you're running Gingerbread, you're running 2.3, so look for kernels made for Gingerbread/2.3, not 2.1.

He's talking about sense 2.1, eclair for this phone doesn't exist.

As far as I know, jcase has the only publicly available oc kernel for stock 2.3, but it isn't uv/compatible with incredicontrol. What I mean by that is most of the roms have a custom kernel, but you can't just flash it on another rom. Unless you hark apart the .zip, and even then I can't garuntee it would work.

I'm looking for same even though I don't fully understand UV vs. UC. Does this squeeze out a little more battery life when you do both? SetCPU is good so far.

Yeah guys thinks for the info. Once I got to a computer I found jcases. Thanks again.

Jcase's kernal worked great at 1.6 when I was using RMK's Ginger Sense R1.

Your Favorite ROMz!

Like it says. What is your favorite rom and why? I've always been a cyanogen mod Guy cause that's what I first started on. Recently I've looked into alot of rom's, I just keep coming back to cm. Post link to your rom also please.

OMGB 2.3.4 w/ Tiamat SBC 3.3.7 kernel
Been running above for last couple of weeks w/no issues. Have SetCPU O/Ced to 1152 w/ 128 min on Smartass governor. Awesome battery life w/ Seido 3500 batt.
Been tempted to try latest OMFGB nightlies, but hate to f with something that works so well.

I dual boot synergy and salvagemod 1.4. Miui is great, but I like 4g for Netflix.
MIKg is what I am running and there is no complaints.
Fave is definately salvage mod.
when I did run sense,I always liked calkulins evio rom.

ROM Recommendations.

I Would Prefer an AOSP ROM,but last time i did that the PRL was outdated and my coverage was such garbage i had to use wifi.if i flash the latest radio and whatnot,THEN an aosp rom, which one?...im not big on sense,i have alot of apps,so apps2sd enabled is preferred, possibly a custom kernel but idk if the evo can even be safely over/underclocked.and also,i had an amazing experience with godmode in synergy,is there any other rom that comes close to that kinda performance...im being picky hell id cook my oen,but no PC.
Shooter Evo 4G
Cm7 latest version with Tiamat 3.3.7 kernal. Can get 24 hours depending on usage.
World peace with no regard for human life.
Whats a good sense rom thats stable?i mean everything ive seen has somethin messed up like 4g,sms errors...multiple bugs.i need something stable, where u dont need to keep flashing back n forth.froyo gingerbread i dont care my main concerns are a smooth performance with optimal battery life,i possibly wanna put in an SBC kernel....
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
How about for myself.
I have my EVO flashed over to MetroPCS and currently have Metrodroid2.2 running on the phone. Would I be best to continue running with that ROM, or switching over to CM7.1 along with a patch from the Metrodroid thread for MMS?
What is best for me?
SNS Gingerbread v1.4.1
I like the SNS Gingerbread v1.4.1 because it has a smooth, simple look. Also, I noticed a little boost in battery life.

Maybe my first post was misleading,i want a sense base.

Oh, sorry.
For stability, try MikG. No issues for me. I quite personally use r3chargeD, it is so awesome and I have AMAZING battery life. I think the update to come for it will make it impossibly awesome
ChopSuey kernel is my personal preference
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Give the latest SalvageMod AOSP ROM a try you can use Tiamat's SBC kernel if that's what you prefer. Coming from CM7, I like this one more.
Ive tried r3charged,i had multiple sms errors, now im on stock rooted deodexed,i havent had any issues.by stable i mean a RC that has no bugs.i know that may be asking alot, but i cant afford to not have all my features intact.also,i had issuea with multiple different AOSP roms, poor signal and weaker wifi, even with the latest radio combo pack....so im gunna steer clear of CM7.

2.5 is smooth as butter, I highly recommend it. That plus ChopSuey make for great battery life. I underclock to around 758 MHz and no lag for me

Just got to experiment, man. Try different ROMs and kernels and such, that's the beauty of Android (and especially the Evo Development, we have great devs!)

Im with MikG 2.5 running less freedom, anyone know if netarchys kernel is better?(golden monkey).i tend to under clock more than anything

ROM suggestions please

Trying to get my wife setup with a good ROM. I had skyraider running on it for a while but she wanted a change. So i installed Magnolia for her and shes complaining about the battery drain compared to skyraider (which has insane battery life).
Anything else have good battery and features? I dont have time to flash them all.
Oh, only sense. AOSP is "boring".... Lol
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
You sure you don't want AOSP? MIUI 12.9 is great!
Anyways... back to sense ROMs.
nitsuj's ROM's are great! I personally like TSMvanilla but TSMBullet is great as well.
Another recommendation is Sabotage Sense.
Go with Nits GingerBangSense. The (S)tock or (M)odded version, you can't go wrong...dude makes solid ROM's.
I personally like nitsuj's Roms and skyraider
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
I have to agree here. My main 2 backups are of skyraider and nits gingersense m. Also if you want a change give MIUI a shot. It is beautiful and highly customizable.
