[Q] slow phone/dialer app - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

when someone calls me it takes about 5 seconds before the dialer pops up for answering the phone. I've reinstalled the firmware and i've removed all unwanted apps but the problem remanes.
Anyone got a solution for this problem?

Read the list of build prop edits, there's one for your issue there, I'm sure. I had the same issues on both the x10 and Arc. The best thing to use is the v6 supercharger, I'll add the link in a sec.

DON'T use the kernel tweak if you use DoomKernel, everything else is effective.

i'm allready using the v6 supercharge script(option 6) at the moment i'm running the oem kernel. In the build.prop edits list i only can find a fix for the outgoing phone delay

Just noticed that. Like I said, had that problem as well but seems to have gone so don't really know if it's a dialler or OS issue. Probably using similar to you, 2.3.4, DoomKernel, supercharger etc.

[Q] A few questions on memory and security

First, is there anyway to improve memory management on ICS ? I think my phone lags on some games (even simple ones) because of this...
Second, is an Antivirus program such as TrustGo necessary ?

Are you talking about RAM or SDCARD?
In my opinion, antivirus is not necessary.

try supercharger..or Adrenaline
Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom kernel. I suggest ArcKnight.
Get the V6 Supercharger.
About the second part of your question, I think it's always wiser to be protected. I prefer using Lookout Security & Antivirus.
And always, ALWAYS pay attention to the permissions that an app asks for before installation.

I already did both,
not sure if I should go from Arcknight 3.1 to 3.3 though
I have anti-virus just because if i lose my phone i can block it erase data and passwords or see in google maps were the phone is.
The 3.3 is a good update. Moreover, I think the Wi-Fi is broken on the 3.1

Try to remove bloatware witch you dont need
-also use a custom kernel & overclock to get faster performance when playing games

[Q] What happened to the Supremacy Script thread?

It was here yesterday. Just want to know because if it contained some malware or some other shady stuff I should restore some earlier backup of my phone.
Other than that, since I did flash it, all seems fine with it. So, what was the cause for the thread removal? Cheers!
It looked like it was never tested on Plays. The thread is still there in other xperia forums.
Flashed it too yesterday, and my phone feels much faster and till now no problems.
It was removed from Xperia S forums aswell.. its done a minor wonder for the awake state of Android System.. so I really need to know if its unsafe.
The thing is that the feedback on that thread was positive or indifferent, no one said that it broke the phone in any way. So it's a small mystery why all of the sudden the thread is gone
I flashed it on a Jellybean rom and it wouldn't boot. I used it on an ICS rom and it worked fine, not sure what the deal was with it.
I use it on my stock 2.3.4 build. And it works without any issues. Can't vouch that it boosted my performance though since I didn't really test it well enough.
i have checked that on djjko ==> bootloop
2.3.4 ( ..62) ==> crash monitor error
2.3.4 ( ....58 ) ===> crash monitor error
so , i never will use that
Worked on dix2 but the same don't see any major improvements
Work on stock ics but battery drain too fast on standby

You have aroused my curiousity to what this script actually does(and how it's different from V6 or others). I googled the script but found nothing. Anyone keep a copy?

[Q] V6 Supercharger causing trouble?

Hi everybody!
So, I wanted to change the minfrees on my GN, to have more free ram at anytime and I therefore installed the v6 supercharger..
Then I started facing some problems (media scan taking ages, freezes etc).
After some research I finally found the problem having a look at /proc/last_kmsg: some partitions were "remount-looping" continuously, IE mounting with no option, mounting with some option and remounting without them.
I tried with plain CM10, with Franco kernel, Trinity and Leankernel, same result everywhere, and so I identified in the v6 supercharger the root of the looping, which started right after installing it, and confirmed it through various tests.
I asked zeppelinrox (v6 supercharger creator) about this but he wasn't able to find a solution to this (neither we understood WHY this happens).
My questions are: did you use the v6 supercharger and experience the same issue?
If you don't know, would you mind checking by rebooting the phone and then having a look at /proc/last_kmsg?
And finally, if there isn't any other solution.. What shall I do in order to change my minfrees on CM10?
Here I'm attaching the guilty file..

I used V6supercharger on Xylon 19 ROM without any issues. But currently trying stock 4.2.2 ROM without need to use V6supercharger. There is almost 350MB of free RAM, which is quit fine for me. I checked last_kmsg, but no remount errors .

The problem was solved after using latest TEST version of the supercharger.

you can just remove some apps from the phone or install w good task manager
just don't let a lot of apps run together
repair wont make anything tried it many times but nothing happens love multitasking gaming and speed unlock ur boot loader root ur phone flash a kennel then install racing bean
"_____________________________________________________________________________"
press thanks if I helped :good:
Another way to make it faster is to factory reset and then with an app like Titanium backup freeze and uninstall unnecessary stuff like google maps and it's inner apps that consume lots of RAM all the time
Get rooted, make a recovery, use supercharger.
Im currently running on generic rom and fw GB version but had it run with supercharger v8 and now runs faster than stock ics.

I repaired it and its a bit more faster and doesnt lagg that much BUT, now my WiFi is crashing much more than before, what should I do with the WiFi?

being on stock is actually more stable all round with features, but its damn laggy and inconsistent UI. i may suggest u unlock your bootloader, root your phone and install a custom ROM, doing a PC companion fix doesnt save any problems. Sony's own ICS is very poor to be honest.
And with this root thing, im a bit scared not to Fu** up my phone..:/
Sent from my LT18i using xda app-developers app
owh,, then choice is entirely yours. i dont blame you. if you're not confident of rooting , then dont. its risky at first.. but, if you dare, u must do as much research on the steps as possible. Xperia Arc/S definitely benefits more from rooting, if its successful.
Does anyone maybe have idea what to do to solve WiFi crashing problem?

What are ur kernel settings?? Did u add any other tweaks?? Installed any ram hogging app?? Its not the rom fault. Most problems cause by our own. So...

Try flash 4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor firmware and use Lupus GB+ICS kernel.

How much internal memory have you used/have left?
I had this problem before so i checked my memory and saw that i only had 5 mb left. after i cleaned my phone of useless apps/bloatware the games worked as they should

Try flash Adreno booster again. That worked for me.
I can advice you to flash nxt2jb, this Rom has been discontinued, but it is the most stable and fastest Rom available.
Flash it over lupus v6 stock gb 720p kernel. Virtuos governor at 1GHz or 1.2 GHz. (no adreno booster)
And then tell how its working.
Also avoid using the facebook application if you are already using it, coz it is a memory hog, instead u can go for friendcaster or fast

It not rom's fault... try download another different apk and data...

Make sure that you have at least 150 megs available on the internal disk, otherwise will have problem with lags. Reboot the phone when play some heavy game, because if your phone is much time powered, some games usually has lags, and only resolves with reboot. ( I don't know the cause).
