HD arrives on wednesday lets get it sorted!

Right at last im finally getting my Touch HD on wednesday after months of drooling over it.
all i want to know is this.
what do you guys suggest a noob like me should do to the bad boy, im talking apps, themes etc.
so much i dont understand just trawling through the forum. so please clue me in. whats the best and essential apps i must have? whats the differences between the ROMS and how hard are they to impliment.

There are several fixes for it now. I get awesome gps performance and stability right now.

tried to edit my post but it didnt work so here it goes:
and yes ofc its important, if i am going to buy a phone for 500-600€ its very important that GPS works perfect and there is no lagg and such stuff..so think again before posting stuff like that, cuz in the end ur the fool

EDIT: did some Googling and the rom has been removed from other forums as well. Maybe they got into some copyright issues with the whole Pokemon theme?

AN hour or 2 ago.. the tread heading showed something about the phone being dropped in water...

Two devs for the Prime left recently under similar circumstances. I'd bet they violated the ToU of the site. A lot of the manufacturers (and Google) consider their proprietary s/w off limits and most devs know this and work around it. XDA by allowing the s/w to be distributed becomes somewhat responsible. I'm only guessing but it's probably something along those lines.

The title of the thread suggests that the lead dev is having problems with his device and maybe he cannot support the thread atm (questions, queries etc).
I hope it's only temporary cause it was my favourite rom.

In a german forum i read, that the rom was based on mikes ARHD without asking him. If this would be true, it was correct to close the thread, because j4n87 complained about the unsolicited use of his tweaks in other roms. Don´t know, if it´s really right, maybe we´ll never hear something about it

Sigh... Sadly, it is the rom that i love most since i moved to HOX... Lets hope that the dev will return with more surprises...

Guys, I know I'm a noob here, but could someone point me in the right direction? If we want (and I know we want) to port Nexus Jellybean to HD2 what do we have to do? Is kernel and libraries all there is to it? Let's say we have the right libs and kernel from ICS is compatible - what do we need more for it to run? I'm just curious.

Please tell me all the work devs have done on HWA won't have to be re-done on JB...

Taking a few minutes to run through this, its disappointing that its odexed. I tried doing some research here, but I only got a 'out' folder with jibberish .smali files(dont think thats right). With it odexed like this, it cant be used (odex files hold info for device specific info I guess), it has to be de-odexed. I know someone on here knows how to do it, so till they do that its a wall to pass.

Agree with your statement man.. a bit difficult to de-odex those files.. Some apks can't deodex.. Anyways no luck with the Rom, i got boot loops and build.prop needs some cleaning. Will work further more.

[Q] Favourite i927 RoMs

I am new to this site so thanks for being here!
I was wondering what are people's Favourite RoMs are at this point?
I've tried a few and am really excite about these custom Roms but can't decide what and why I like each one. The WoW factor is huge right now. I like the Inc3ption V1 which was my first. Then I tried V2 which is my fav so far I think? Sorry to 'The Collective' but I changed my Bootanimation...I found one from google I was trying to change on my Rooted Stock GB but was never able to find a way to use the bootanimation.zip. Thanks to Dman for putting the custom boots in his rom! The animation I used was the android guy pissing on the apple symbol! Classic!!!!
I've just installed ItsMeBdon stock ICS and am happy about it as well!!!
I can't seem to find the 'Thanks' buttons? Am I so new I can't do it yet?
I am a Hack implementer for most devices I own and have never once Bricked a device. Would love to learn to do the hacks myself but with family life hard to find time.
I am here to test and make my device MINE so I am here to help where ever I can
I just wanted to say hi and thank everyone for their long hours of pure pleasure! Trying at times but still fun in our eyes!

Been playing with roms all day. I really like JayJay ICS and most likely staying with it. I REALLY like the RAM usage on Inc3ption v2 as I can get it down to under 150mb?
Again, If I am doing something wrong, Please let me know where else I should be asking my questions.

I'm currently using lite ROM with the custom kernel and it works fine but i think we're all waiting for dman to release his aosp/aokp jb build

My favorite so far has been jayjayjoker's Krionz rom as far as ICS, and I beleive I'm on a stock kernel. I've not been able to figure out the inability to control processor speeds though when using any ICS rom and kernel currently available. I can't be certain if the governors have any affect, and i can not lower the clock manually below 768mhz. I'm trying to go back because of this, but I'd say my current favorite for Gingerbread is the Osimood rom.

My favorite is my ROM but when dman's new ROM comes its gonna be my choice.

I have Inc3ption running right meow because it's the only rom I completely setup and have a backup of. I've been playing around today withdman's alpha's as well. Got them installed and doin' what they do but still am unable to give feedback as I can't over in that section yet. Very interested in those developments!

Go into the Meet and Greet sticky and introduce your self! talk to people and get to know these good folks here. we're all here as a community helping each other! don't forget to give thanks where it's due and sometimes donate to the devs that put their time and effort creating these roms for us! without them, our phones would be imprisoned to the carriers we use. Out of all the device forums I have seen, XDA Developers is by far the most informative and the people here make to feel right at home, even tho we live all over the world!

I'm definitely waiting for dman's cm9 myself but jokers rom is what I'm running with now and its cool stuff. I think I'm going to try a hand at theming for cm9... touchwiz is kind of gross.

I am liking the look and feel of cm9. Think I'm gonna setup JayJay ICS today and make sure I have a backup of it as well...I like that I can add a custom bootanimations.zip or shoud I say sanim.zip for Inc3ption v2. When I removed the bootanimation.zip and sanim.zip v2 has a real cool plain android letters boot??? I can't seem to copy and paste it to JayJay by replacing the qmg's? It just shows Samsung Galaxy SII. Not really sure why it wont work, does it have something to do with using GB .qmg's on ICS?
Anyways, l'm OCD with checking for a new build for cm9 and can't wait to see Alpha-5 get past the boot...Not sure what I'm really doing but I even tried loading in the lite kernel after the booting locked and it didn't even show the boot animatin. It just skipped it all together and was flashing the time in the top right corner of the screen before it woud loop with the rumble.
