Hi.. I'm new here and I think this is the place to ask this.. I want to use ARHD but i have a stock rom.. I already upgrade into GB. is it possible to convert it into ARHD? using the method.....
-Download ROM and place it on your SD card
-Download "Super Wipe" script & place it on your SD card (optionally if coming from earlier version of my ROM, obligatory if coming from stock or other custom ROM)
-Boot your phone in recovery mode (vol down + power)
-In main menu, select "install zip from sdcard"
-Select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of "Super Wipe" script
-Once again select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of Android Revolution ROM
-After flashing process is complete, reboot the device
Or is there other method to do first before doing this... Thanks..
Best regards,

it will depend on the step u failed....if failed in dangerous cases like flashing radio fone bricked...........
do each step carefully....reading everything.............
once u root it .....it voids warrenty and a factory reset wont unroot it....
you hav to follow another steps for that ~~~~~~~~~

Hi 2 all!
Before somebody claims - I read and searched the threads but I was not able to flash a new rom.
My envoirment:
Win 7 X86
HTC Desire (rooted)
8 GB Memory Card (I copied the new rom in the root directory and named it update.zip)
I tried rom manager (the non-paid version):
I don't know which menu (after my device rebooted) should I take?
applying sdcard update.zip?? (I selected this, bus no new rom..)
I also tried the fake flash method:
Error Message: signature verification failed.
Now, please can anyone tell me how to flash to a new rom?
br,
Chris
Edit: Solved: The zip file was corrupt
Is your handset branded? What rom are you trying to flash. Have you rooted your device? Because it needs to be rooted to flash 99% of the roms available here.
..no, its not branded; its also rooted.
So what rom are you trying to flash? You should be able to flash one if your handset is rooted.
If you use fake flash don't rename it but put it on your sd card root. Then in the menu go to flash zip from sd then choose the rom. Just before you flash make sure to select wipe data, cache etc.
why did u rename the rom?...once in the custom recovery it should not matter what the rom is called...from the menu u just select flash zip from SD then select the rom from the list

...somewhere I read to rename the rom the update.zip.
Now I am following this link: http://theunlockr.com/2010/06/07/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-the-htc-desire/
I am trying the rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705606
Will whipe date/whipe cache clear my memory card?
Will any other action clear my memory card?
br,
Chris
Ok so that rom should be fine. Do not rename it.
Wiping cache/data etc will only wipe data form the handset. All your memory card will be still intact. Only repartitioning the card will wipe it so back up any data first if you ever plan on doing that.
If the error is signature verification failed, re-sign the ROM.

Kinda noob question but can someone post screens on how to backup and restore a nadroid backup??
Thanks
Title meant to say: Backup not back
If you're not rooted then you can't do a Nandroid. When you use a custom recovery image like Clockwork Mod you have the option to do a backup (refered to as a 'Nandroid').
yea i know i am planning on rooting tonight just want to know how just incase anything goes wrong
Ah right!!
Once you've run unrEVOked it will install Clockwork Mod as your recovery image. In there is the backup and restore menu which is where you perform a 'nandroid'. It basically copies your system onto your SD card so you can revert back to it should a new ROM flash go wrong/not be to your liking...it's easy really!
Getting to Clockwork Mod is the same as getting into normal recovery - turn the phone on whilst holding down the volume down button, select 'Recovery' from the menu and there you go!
Or after getting clockwork mod on your phone you cab download an app called Rom manager this has a menu with options one is back up or restore your Rom.

Thanks, got another question, i would like to flash opendesire how would i now go about doing this ?? i am rooted now
Boot into Clockwork Mod, select 'install update from SD card' and choose to select from the SD card and select the OpenDesire ZIP file. You'll also have flash a radio that's compatible with the ROM (which is done the same way)
do i need to wipe data/factory reset??
Thanks
I'd say yes as you're going from a Sense ROM to non-Sense - better to be safe than sorry
and do i now click apply sdcard:update.zip or install zip from sdcard
Thanks!
Install zip from sdcard.
Highlight and select the zip containing whatever you want to flash (the ROM or the Radio)
I did do this a while back...

WoW!! All done now on OpenDesire Thanks guys When i partition my SD card to ext or whatever, does the cache and stuff go to my SD card automatically?
Thanks

Hope this will help you...........
Instructions
1. Flash a recovery image (tested with AmonRA.)
2. Copy the .zip file to your MicroSD card and boot the phone into recovery mode (call+volume-up+power)
3. Choose "Flash zip from sdcard" and choose the zip you just copied. A guide in pictures
4. (optional) Wipe data+cache before rebooting. It may or may not work OK to not wipe data but it's propably best to wipe.A guide in pictures
5. If you skip step 4 because you are upgrading you MUST still clear the dalvik-cache because of JIT being enabled in RLS6.
How to flash: (Don't use ROM Manager! Flash ROM following the steps below
Download ROM and place it on your SD card
Download "Super Wipe" script & place it on your SD card (optionally if coming from earlier version of my ROM, obligatory if coming from stock or other custom ROM)
Boot your phone in recovery mode (vol down + power) In main menu, select "install zip from sdcard"
Select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of "Super Wipe" script
Once again select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of Android Revolution ROM After flashing process is complete, reboot the device

Just to be sure:
I have installed AR 6.1.1 and want to install 6.1.5. I don't have to superwipe, right? Just copy 6.1.5 on sd, boot in recovery mode and choose the software?
Yes, you can just flash it over your current rom. Superwipe is a MUST if you come from version 5.x.x or earlier or from another rom.
Edit: It is recommended to clear cache and dalvik cache each time you perform a rom update.

Thx a lot
yep, I'm now using HTC DESIRE-AOKP-milestone6 v2,
And I also follow the tips with CronMod-A2SD trying to activate the A2SD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
but after rebooting my phone, nothing happened
Is there anything that I did wrong ?
my way:
-Recovery
-Select "install zip from sdcard"
-Select "choose zip from sdcard"
-Select "CronMod-****_signed"
-Select "mounts and storage" category
-Select "format /sd-ext"
-Reboot
by the way, I've also tried INT2EXT,
it do work, but it got low efficiency,
every time when I start a application, it takes a long time!
Is it normal ?:crying:
for me, flashing croniccorey's INT2EXT was a bit dodgy and didnt work but it worked perfect if u start from scratch. flash rom then flash the script and reboot.
