My Epic Touch is stuck on a constant boot loop, just showing the sprint screen over and over. I'm unsure what to do to fix this. I read to restore a factory rom, but unsure if such a thing exists or not...
Can anyone help me?
? Not enough info..............................................?

Mine just did this. I took the sd card out and it started bootlooping. Popped it back in and it started normally

Very annoying...
I was following the treads to see how to update... root.... then get a rom....
I got froyo working fine.
I then went to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897612&highlight=oneclickrootcwm3
Sadly I did not feel it was very clear but took a chance.
Steps 1-6 seemed to go fine. I was on the ... screen where it loaded(black screen) it said it loaded fine, and asked me if i wanted to start it up. I said yes. It went to the first screen Samsung in white with a black background and freezes. I have tried to yank the battery and restart but it never gets past this screen.
Two words Oh din

You need to flash a rom that is compatible with ext4.

Got my wife's Evo 4G rooted and it's working. Now my daughter's rooted Evo 4G, been rooted since 7/10/2011 is messing up. When you turn it off and then turn it on it just sits on the HTC splash screen. It never completely boots up. Went into recovery, wiped the cache/dalvik, and tried to restore the backup. Rebooted, but it still just hangs on the splash screen like it did when you turn it on. Any help with this one? Do I need to un-root and take it to Sprint? If so, what do I need to download to the SD card, and a link to the file would be most appreciated, to flash to get it back to stock. Thanks, you've helped me once, I hope you guys can help me again.
You can just take the phone back the way it is. Tell them its not working and they won't even check or if the phone is rooted. They support rooted phones now.

Thanks. But I wonder why all of a sudden it decides not to boot up? My daughter said it has been taking a long time to turn on, that's why she has been leaving it on all the time? Could this have fried something? Is this a known problem with the 4G's? Just weird that it all of a sudden just crapped the bed.
Could be a hardware problem. Just take it in and get it replaced. That would probably be your best bet.

I accidentally left Wifi Kill on while I fell asleep last night. I wake up to go to work today to my A100 frozen. I reboot it. It works for two seconds and reboots. Doesn't reboot all the way with the Acer boot screen, just the boot animation. If anyone can help, I would be very grateful. I will post a logcat if I can when I get home.
can you get to the recovery? I'd say if you can get a file on the external SD and flash it you should be good.
Was there a button combination? I'm not sure if adb reboot recovery worked. I know I used to be able to reboot into recovery with a terminal emulator. I'll try when I get home

Click to collapse
I second that. If using one of the update.zip's doesn't work then you can always try a full restore.

Sweet. Thanks guys. That's what I would normally guess with my phone, but with the A100 lockdown, I was a bit lost. I'll give it the ol' hows your mother when I get home

I fell asleep while transferring files last night. Seems to be working fine now... Even though I changed nothing. I'm not going to argue

Hey guys,
I recently had the terrible idea to suspend touchwiz with romtoolbox. Upon doing so things went a bit wonky so I unfroze it but nothing seems to have changed. My camera apk has vanished and things are just running poorly.
I have attempted the normal device reset as well as a hard reset on the boot loader screen.
Does anyone have any ideas what else I can do since resets doesn't fix it? I've heard of Odin, but that just seems pretty drawn out when compared to the HTC RUU process.
Thanks in advance.

Use odin and here is the link if the link works.
Please READ the stickies on this and other threads before doing anything with odin.
