I am looking for something that doesn't exist, I'm starting to think. A calendar format, with the text listed in the overview, not just when the day is selected. And I want the input to act like a notepad. No times, addresses or anything. No google sync.
So like, a calendar with no times, and no details, that shows the input in month-view. If anyone can find me one I will hit the thanks button as many times as I can!
Try calendar pad. I like it.
Cd's or tapes?
Ok I'll give it a shot, thanks

Hey folks,
I've been able to get by, copy pasting using a long press. But I've noticed that it doesn't work in a number of areas. I had trouble with the native email (not gmail) app. I want to copy a tracking number from the email, but there's no way to do it. I even tried to reply and fwd the email to make the text editable... but no luck.
Long pressing in the email app seems to highlight the text, but no options come up, and the menu button gives me irrelevant settings.
It seems that there is no hardware shortcut or hotkey to copy and paste! This is terrible and so inconvenient.
Does anyone know a way to program the quick keys to perform cut, copy and paste maneuvers? I imagine it would be pretty simple to do. It would finally make good use of those 3 crummy keys.
Thanks

I have no trouble copying from my email... you long press, drag the highlight across your desired text, and then tap quickly... a toast messages appears saying that it was copied to the clipboard...
What ROM are you using?
Edit: Ah, I see you're also running CM7. You should have the capability.

I can copy/paste from gmail without issue by long pressing. But it won't work from the email app that I use for my yahoo account.

Yeah, I can copy/paste from my non-gmail email application too. Mine is AOL, but really it should not matter... that's weird it doesn't work you... lemme try something...
I just tried copying in gmail and it works the same as my other email...

maybe this can help you, it adds a possibility to have hardware copy/paste shortcuts
MENU+A -> select/deselect all
MENU+C -> copy selected
MENU+V -> paste
Thank you for the replies!
I figured it out. The problem I had was that I couldn't perform the copy function in the native email (not gmail) app. I managed to select the text with a long press, but there was no way to copy it to my clipboard... or so I thought. Turns out pressing the trackpad once the text is selected copies it!
And thanks for the app suggestion. I was rooting around the dev guide hoping to map the quick keys to cut, copy and paste. That would make good use of them
EDIT: Sorgo, I can't seem to download that app. Oddly enough I can't download most apps recently because the market claims my device is not compatible. This happened not too long ago. I'm on CM7 #220 running 2.3.7. I thought it was because I had changed my resolution in my build.prop file, but even with a default build.prop, I can't download a thing. Any suggestion there?

I managed to download Z Arrow. I will test it out tomorrow, thank you.
I went back to my default build.prop at 240 lcd density and cleared the market cache. By the way, neither of this two things alone ever worked for me, but together it seems to do the trick and fix the incompatibility issue I mentioned earlier.

I found it hard to believe after I got all my gmail contacts and google + contacts on GN...I got multiple entries of the same person. In HTC sense or tough wiz they usually automatically suggest you to links up those entries. But I look and look though all the options in ICS contact apps, didnt see it. Did google seriously forgot about it?
and none of the facebook contacts show up at all...probably not compatible with ICS yet?
No more Facebook integration after gingerbread.
U can use SyncMyPix. I know it's frustrating but I think this is the best solution available so far

You can link contacts together, but only manual and difficult.
Open contacts, then open person which you would like to link to another, then from top-right menu click "edit". Then click the same menu button again, there is option "join". It's the only way I found to combine contacts together.....

Ive tried this because ive wondered about linking contacts since my XOOM updated to ICS and once you click Join, on the top of the list is a Suggested contact, meaning the same name so its kind of easy to do if you know the multiples.
Most of mine linked automatically if they have the same name on my phone as they do on Facebook. Those that don't I joined manually
Haxsync on Android marker ... syncs pictures with face detection high quality ...and adds them to people automatically including recent posts ... well worth the money

Hi,
i read many times that people like sense, because of the great email app.
Although i like the look of it, i miss some very important feateres, that the somehow cluttered Gmail-app does give me.
Both the Gmail app and Outlook show me conversations. The sense app doesn´t. If i want to check what i ansered, i have to go to the sent folder and search for it.
If i haven´t answered yet, it´s going to be a long search, whether in Gmail or Outlook i can see right away that i haven´t answered yet.
Second thing is that i get Outlook attachments as winmail.dat. i know it´s an Outlook-Richtext issue, but the Gmail app can deal with it, most of the time.
Somehow i´m not a fan of the Gmail app. I find it cluttter.
So i wonder if i have missed something with the praised sense email app.
I also tried K9, but it doesn´t work with conversations either.
thx, nearly
Threaded view.
Ok, thanks. I got that ticked. And it works on some threads i just saw.
But most of my email conversations, that are threaded in the gmail app aren´t in the sense app.
I guess, there´s not much we can do about this...
thx, nearly
In mail, go into menu then folder and click on in box plus sent. That will show you your sent messages as well.

It does, thank you, but its not in a thread.

Set to always BCC yourself? That worked for me.
A bug I noticed is that the font size when viewing, composing and replying seems quite random. The font size in the settings only control the size in your editor box when composing emails, but not the content sizes when viewing them.
Changing the overall sense font size only affects the email listing interface but not the content view. I'm finding the font a little too big for my taste.
Just notice you must also set to sync your sent items under your account settings, not just the inbox.

I'm posting this on behalf of my boss, so please don't shoot the messenger in case the answers are something obvious. I don't own a Note II but I'd appreciate the help.
The boss would like to know two things:
1. How do you handle Exchange tasks using the Note II? He needs to be able to look at outstanding tasks, assign them, etc.
2. He uses Inbox sub-folders extensively. Is there a way or an app which lets you quickly see all unread emails in the Inbox and its subfolders?
Thanks, appreciate it.
The stock email app does let you see all your sub folders and access and move them as needed. As far as the task while I dont do much with this I do a little here and there and the stock email Syncs with all that also

Thanks for the reply.
I understand that you can see the sub-folders but what he's looking to do is to be able to see all unseen messages ONLY in all sub-folders in one view. I think you can understand the issue.. he's got, say, 15 sub-folders with hundreds of messages in total but only, say, 30 messages which have been unread, all scattered among 15 sub-folders. He's looking for a way to see only those 30.
As for the stock email app, I run a Galaxy S III so my guess the email app would be similar. I don't see a way to manage tasks. You sound like you know how to acccss the tasks.. can you give me the steps or tell me in which area of the email app to look? I see no mention of tasks anywhere.
Thanks.
In this amazing world of Android, is there not an app that can decipher an email and add the appt to calendar? For example, I get a lot of emails advising me of the practice schedule for the coming week or two, the email has days and times and locations. Is it too much to ask to have those times automatically added to my calendar? I mean Google now goes far enoughthat it will track parcels or flights, is this not the next logical step? Is tedious to manually add them from each email. I would expect some kind of visual confirmation where you could edit any minor details of course. Any dev who could come up with this would clean up! Unless there's something like this on the market that I've overlooked?

Just a quick update, after checking, it appears that the problem is only with Gmail? If I forward these Gmail messages to Hotmail or others, the time in the body of the email is highlighted, allowing me to tap it to create a date on Samsung calendar. I have to fill in the details but that's what I'm talking about!
I guess I could create calendar date verbally with Google now. Anyone have a better way? Gmail is my main email.

Argh! I guess you mods can delete this thread. Apparently, if I open Gmail using the stock email app I can achieve what I wanted. Thanks me!

found your thread by searching the same content. I found this helpful because i have the same problem like yours, i.e. too many emails with appointment and schedule which i hardly manually enter into my calendar. switching apps also takes too many steps to complete. Ive never use Stock Email that came with the device (i am on Samsung galaxy note 3 now). Let me try see if it works. However, I found stock email app is a bit slow receiving emails, that's why ive never used it Did you find any other app that does the job? i also looking for an app which can remind me to reply emails later, because some emails come, i skim through it and will reply later when i have time. But sometimes i forget to reply, and very hard to find the mail again you have any solution for this?
cheers
