I was told that the touch can sync up with the computer, share files, get music etc. Not just outlook, but real files. If so, how can you do this?
Thanks in advance

I should have tried before answering, cause it can.

I downloaded Kies and I connected Epic 4G touch through USB and it doesn't recognize it.
It's always "connecting..."
and nothing.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Windows 7 could not find/install a driver either for this phone.

Yes and speaking of AllShare I downloaded it today and installed it on my HTPC and it worked like a charm. I can sit back on the couch and play what ever media I have on my phone on the computer.
I have a HTPC and its connected to my NON Samsung 42 inch 1080P tv. Now my phone cant talk to the tv but it can talk to the PC by having Kies and AllShare installed.
Kies is good to manage the phone via wifi and AllShare is good to play your media on your phone on the NON DLNA supported tv's ( via pc ).
Worked great, played a 1.5 hour movie today and not one skip, hicup or anything using AllShare. Also tested using pictures and music, all worked like a charm.
If you have a DLNA compatable tv from Samsung then you will not need AllShare installed on the pc. The phone will talk directly to the tv.
If you want to "manage" your phone ie sync, copy and move or just do managment type things I would use Kies. If you want to play your media on your tv then use AllShare.
Fyi, if you want to do the traditional usb connection sync, usb debugging in the application development settings must be enabled. Odd, I know, but it is the case.

I know of Klies for syncing files but with my Mac, the only option I have is to see the files from my phone and upload them to my computer but I cannot add files to the phone through Klies.
I was wondering, besides connecting my phone to a USB or taking out my battery and using the MicroSD is there a wireless way for me to sync my music/photos/videos/etc to the Galaxy S2 (through the phone or any other APPS)? I also have a Mac so that might be a thing to know as well.
Also, any apps or is there any way I can get itunes to sync a playlist to the phone instead of me going through all my music files one by one and dragging it into a folder to sync with the S2?
Thank you XDA.
Wow, someone actually likes syncing with iTunes instead of just dragging the files into a folder.
Easiest way would be to use Google Music beta and just sync your music with the cloud, always have access to everything from the cloud. Downsides are everything cloud-related. I understand it can cache things on wifi to keep data usage down, but still not as convenient as having it on the SD.
I also hear that Winamp can sync up your library, but I have no experience with that.
Try the market app iSyncr WiFi and iSyncr for mac.
They used to be only so-so but now there awesome
My only pc is a 27in IMac so I've had to deal with this many times with mobile and iSyncr wins

I want to control my samsung galaxy nexus via my pc but I dont need display I just need to use the keyboard and mouse.
Let me tell you why....
I currently have a spare monitor and I have connected my Samsung galaxy Nexus to it via an MHL adaptor but I would like to use my pc mouse and keyboard to do stuff on it and then just change back to pc when I want.
Anyone know any tools to do this?
Thanks
Bluetooth keyboard and mouse is the best option.
Try free AirDroid which lets you use many features of your phone including texting and managing apps via your browser on a PC as long as you're on the same network.

I had been using Droid VNC Server in the past, however it doesn't seem to support ICS. knoxbrder seems to be very close to having a working version for the Galaxy Nexus, you can take a look at this thread for some details.
Once this is running, you can run vncviewer on a Linux system, or download RealVNC for Windows and access your phone when it's on your WiFi network.

LMAO Are you going to hook your microwave up to a monitor as well? How about your toilet? Maybe you can get to the point where everything you own from phone, to coffee maker, to wrist watch has its own monitor. Clearly you need to get out more brah
I've found the remotely controllable phone-to-TV connection very useful. My old TV didn't have Pandora support so I used to hook up my X to it so I could listen via my sound system speakers. I now have a Google TV with a Pandora client, but with a dumb monitor you can also throw in Netflix and Amazon video to turn it into a smart TV. Or just turn the phone into a mini-desktop, it's already just a pocket computer.
i have been pretty disapointed with android options in this department.
i had veency running like a charm on my iphone, but nothing for android. and most of the vnc/rdp programes in market are not what they claim to be.
How many people have used the Smart Share feature?? I did the other day to stream a movie to my tv.
I will say that it was freaking AWESOME! Now I have streamed using my computer, DTV Box, my tv, Blu ray,
Xbox, and even my Ps3. None seemed to be as easy and flawlessly as running it from my LGOG. I even did
it a few times with MHL and my Evo lte. I can play, pause, ff using my tv remote, hell I believe I multitasked
on the phone while the tv was still playing the movie without one hiccup.
This phone is Awesome!!!
I want to try that but my tv doesn't use DLNA glad it's so smooth though!

No I haven't tried that. I might try tonight just to see.
Hi guys, I've just learned that the Note 2 doesn't offer exclusive access to the partition, hence no mass storage mode when connected over USB. My issue right now is syncing with iTunes via DoubleTwist still goes through as a "Generic Device" but I cannot see the music anywhere on my phone, either through both my music players (Jet Audio/DoubleTwist) or physically in a file.
Any ideas or suggestions of where to find this music would be appreciated.

Turns out it never synced in the end. Got Airsync and worked out beautifully after needing to get my computer to sync through though I will try isyncr to compare.

If there are any issues with iSyncr USB or WiFi, please contact me at [email protected]. Would be happy to help with anything that is going on with our application.
Take it easy.
This new iTunes sync app just came out called 'iThink", check it out.
So I just recently divorced myself from my iPod and iTunes. My S3 is now my primary music player both at home and in the car. I keep my music in a folder on my laptop, and am looking for a program/app that will allow me to sync my S3 with said folder via USB and WiFi. I must have the option of syncing over USB since I will not always have access to WiFi. I tried Kies and could never get it to connect to my phone (which is rooted and may be the cause of my problem). Plus I keep hearing that Kies is a steaming turd. Cheetah Sync seems like it might do the trick but is WiFi only. I should also note that I want the ability to two-way sync so if I delete a file from the phone it will remove it from the folder on the laptop and vice/versa..
Thanks in advance..

Thanks, but I'm not using iTunes.. Just trying to sync my phone with a folder on my laptop..
Do you have a windows vista or 7 laptop? If so, you can connect your phone via usb and select MTP as your device. You'll be able to treat your phone as an external storage by simply dragging and dropping files.
