Here are the results after several days of use, it seems to be very good..
It also includes 1.2h of gps use with screen off (endomondo)...
I'm consistantly getting at least 10-12 hours of heavy use with around 5 hours screen time with these babies, so yeah they're all good.
Shame the spider-foot back cases are better built. The Momax supplied ones feel really flimsy.
Also, Tids2k has had overheating problems with the Momax, maybe it's a bad batch as I've had nothing of the sort. Just someting to be aware of.
Would it be too much to ask for some pix of the actual case? Particularly I'm interested on this battery because of the stand included with the case, what has been the experience with the stand.
I'm currently using the Spiderfoot and the performance has been good so far.
Thanks guys
I'll try to make some pictures of the cover, but it is really HORRIBLE, I had the momax battery for the galaxy S, and the cover was fine (althought very bad quality).
This one seems better quality but very bad designed... too bulky!
Thanks I would really appreciate it, is it really that bad? Is the stand not worth it?
It can't be as ugly as the spider foot haha, even though I'm using it I have to say the phone kind of losses its appeal, however, the extra juice is worth it.

Just gotten it from HK.
Not really asthetically nice but functionally, this battery definitely extended by usage by another 40%!
This is more for power users who values usage more than looks
OMG, You made your slim&sexy phone pregnant .
You just couldn't resist it could you?
...that's uuuuugly!
Ya man,
It's Fugly, but at least I won't have to hunt for charger by afternoon
Awesome battery life ..... But it is so ugly >.<"

Ok, well here are some pics of the extended battery on the phone LOL! As you can see its not the same color as the phone, its a bit brownish/silver (I think it was meant for the dopod version not the HTC one that I have even though I ordered it stating htc s630).
Looks wise, its kinda ugly but not as bad as I expected, it doesn't feel bad in my pocket, and in my hand actually feels pretty good and more in control while I'm typing etc, makes the phone easier to hold.
The battery is 2250 MAH (ordered it from Amazon for 18 dollars). The juice its providing is AMAZING!!! I've gone all day and its still only at like 90%, was decent use but still really happy about it.
I'm happy camper!!
Really ugly
dont care about how it looks but how it works. I'm looking for one like yours but hvn't found any yet. I tried several Made-in-China thin batt but lasts for half days of normal use. I'm almost hopeless with the C7330 batt. It's waaay to bad, recharge 2 times a day.
Works AMAZING!!! So far so good, lasts all day with very little drain.
I'm gonna put it to a bigger test soon, i just ordered a bluetooth stereo headset which I will be using for a few hours while I work out.
Definitely happy about the purchase.
I purchases this for $16.93 shipped. It ships via USPS from Ohio.

It look uglier in the pics than in real life. It lays flat and fits comfortable in the hand while talking. I whet from charging nightly to every 3rd day.

Amen to that! One of the best investments I've ever made. The battery just DOES NOT run out!
I have the same battery, got it last summer. Other than it being a little bit bulkier (and uglier), the battery works great and the extended battery life was a big save esp. on heavy data/3G days.
Has anyone been able to find a extended capacity battery and cover yet? I know I for one would be willing to put up with a thicker captivate and pay say $65 for a double capacity battery. How about you?
Thanks for voting, rumor has it this thread is going to be watched by R&D So please vote!
I vote higher capacity, but same size.
That will depend on what's possibly with current battery chemistries.
The Galaxy S has a 3500 mAh option out now. It looks pretty massive with the replacement cover though.

Holy crap that thing is huge... I think I would prefer to just carry a second normal sized battery around in the evnt that I need more juice.
Unless like others said, same form factor, higher output.. or maybe slightly thicker.. but not double the thickness.
Besides, the design of the back cover for the captivate would not facilitate a battery that size.
I'm waiting for the Seidio products.
again I wouldn't mind paying the price for an extended battery with a door that has a kick stand. Something like the HTC HD2.
ROFL! wow. when I saw the beginning I was all, whaat, that's not bad. not too big.. then I noticed it wasn't the battery you were talking about o_o.. that would be a veery 'uf!' phone. I wonder if they offer a full matte body kit lol

I thin i just got a flash back from the 90's when i saw that brick lol.
I guess some guys who like fat chicks might carry that fat ass phone around. I wouldn't be seen in public with that fatty.
I'll keep my sexy sleek Captivate and carry a spare battery.
hahaha, seriously. the second battery/case in the video had me rolling when i saw how big the phone got.
I could see a metal cover with a .5 mm bump in it to accommodate a larger battery couldn't harm the captivate looks too much. IMO.

larger battery but no bulk. It's 2010 people, they should be able to make 2000mah bat without bulk.
If the bulk needs to be added then the battery cover needs to keep the device looking pretty and not like an experiment done at home.

I lol'd.
Personally, I want something like THIS
But instead of having the battery pack be so contained, you spread out the battery cells throughout the entire backside of the phone. You could have as large a battery capacity wise, but you wouldn't add as much thickness.
That said I know very little of battery technology, so I don't know if what I want is even possible.

I think I might just get the mugen extended and but a rubber case that will hopefully make the phone look less ridiculous with the battery on
(Thanks to the ad on the top of the page...)
I'd most appreciate something like this.

Kills two birds with one stone.
I know many of us have been anxiously waiting to see for an extended battery option from Seidio (or other reputable 3rd party), but nobody has announced one for the Captivate until now. Finally:
http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4411.htm
Unfortunately, no mention of price or when it will be released as it's currently "under development" but that they have added it to their store is exciting enough!
Yeah I just saw that too, and wow 3200mah is huge!
Do you think they will make a case for it? I have the body glove that was launched with the phone. I kind of like it. Has anyone purchased from these guys before? Any experiences to share. Did you buy a case? They made a huge battery for the EVO didn't they?
This means a battery about 2 times as thick as the current one, so expect a custom back with a bumpout for battery.
The Moto Droid 2800 extended battery is $69 so this one will be between $70 and $90 - I would rather have a spare battery or an external rechargeable charger for half the price. I would never make "The Captain" thicker. No pot bellies (or junk in the trunk) on my captain just a slim toned physique.
But Seido has always made a good product - usually they can take the current sized battery and squeeze a little more in - like an 1800mAh in the current size. I hope.
Has anyone actually tried to wrap their head around what this thing will look like?
Our fancy locking closure will either make this thing hideous or cause our phones to look like the back of an Incredible (which I don't mind personally, I liked the terraced back. It reminds me of the zen like nature of steppes carved into a mountain for hillside farming.)
Either way, I want one. I'm just actually trying to fathom the design, and what will happen to the sound quality being the speaker is built underneath the battery cover.
We'll see... I don't think it will be that bad, as the Evo battery only adds "5-6mm" to the phone and that is a 3500mAh battery. But given the option, I would prefer a battery in the range of 2200-2400mAh that only adds maybe 2-3mm. But beggars can't be choosers.
If they could crank out a 1800mAh "slim" battery that does not require a cover, that would be excellent as well. They have 1750mAh for the Incredible and Evo, so who knows.
I have one of their "big" 2600 mAh batteries for my old Bold 9000 and while it put hump in its back, it fit my hand great and having that extra power was fantastic. I'll get this when it comes out.
Im totally down for this hopefully they make the back tapered and not just a straight "step" up, I'm 6 foot 3 and consequently have large hands so I wouldnt even mind my phone being a lil bit thicker.

16 reviews for a company that has been selling accessories for many years (5 that i know of) is not much of a statistic.
I can tell you that, when I was a moderator for Qusers, many people bought from Seido and never had a problem. that doesn't mean there is no problem, but everyone I know that has bought from Seido was satisfied. Their products are regularly review by major blogs, and amazon shoppers give their cases 4.5/5.
I have shopped at hundreds of sites and never filled out a review for resellerratings - so I am not sure that they are the best source for any information.
From my knowledge of the company I would not hesitate to buy from them. if they put out a 2000mAh battery that is the same size as OEM, i will buy it in a second.
I would rather leave the internal battery in place and add a accessory cover with a priority battery slot. The internal battery might have to be replaced with one a mm or two shorter to allow room for the internal battery disconect. With an internal secondary and external primary, the phone could remain in operation during battery changes. Yes, this would add a hump, but I think the phone would fit my hand better...
mm.. I really rather have the same size format but a little more juice to it..1800mAh
how much more juice would that be compared to the standard 1500 :O

Someone could make a Morphie Juice pack thing like for the iPhone. There are a couple already for the Galaxy S i9000:

I have Seidio batteries for my Canon DSRL camera and it works just as good as the original one.
Anyone know of any extended life battery for this phone yet. This is insane this phone has been out a while there should be somethin. I saw the vibrant has a 3000mah, bout to get that and just stick it in without the back cover and throw a silicon case over to hold it in. Saw that amzer has a 1600 but thats almost not worth it.

Who proof reads these things?
"Samsung launches the Power Pack EBB-U10 for the Galaxy S i9000 in Germany. The Power Pack is an external battery that attaches to the back of the phone basicallt and offers 8.5 hours talk time and 500 hours of talk time."
So is that 508.5 hours of talk time?
Hi Guys,
Got my hands on the Mugen Power 3200 mah extended battery, it is FANTASTIC. The replacement cover does a great job at keeping the same texture of the original back cover. It adds some thickness but still feels natural and comfortable in your hand. Performance wise, it is great as well, some users could get 2+ days out of it easily. Full review below:
sorry, but these extended battery look ugly! and only half a day extra battery life, no way worth it!

I consider myself a very heavy user (as bad as that may seem) so whilst out of my house, apart from when I'm driving, I'll be on my phone. Half a day of added battery is great for me and works fine, I'm sure a medium user would get 2 days easily and a light user close to 3 days.
It depends what kind of user you are, light users probably wouldn't pick one up unless they were going out camping for a weekend or something.

As far as I know, the general public seems to favor the performance on the battery.

Hi, you're very welcome.
I'm pretty sure that something similar to this should do the job:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/trailblazer-advanced-pro-universal-car-charger-and-holder-p27266.htm
Universal car holders should fit the Galaxy S2 with the Mugen as they've been around for awhile now, when phones used to be much bulkier.
Just received it yesterday (got it from Expansys) and as of now I'm pretty satisfied with it!
Consider that I was still unable to fully charge/discharge it so I expect to get even better results in the next few days.
As of now, I disconnected from AC power this morning at around 9.00 and after about 12hrs I still have ~50% whereas I used to get ~20% or less using standard battery.
Increase in thicknes didn't proved to be a big issue by the way.
My suggestion is to get it!
Also ordered from expansys and waiting to get mine in the next couple of days.
Does it still fit into regular cases?
No, it comes with a replacement back cover. It slightly incrase thickness as I said, about 1mm. It basically clears the step on the back. But increased phone life justifies it, IMHO.
Sounds like what they should've done out of the box, this race for thinnest phone is pretty stupid.

nah. to me the normal battery is good enough.
How is this extended battery compared to the 3500 extended battery?
I assume this is the 2000mAh battery that you are talking about? Do you have any photos with the battery attached? I assume the camera is recessed much further in with the new cover or does the cover taper towards the camera?
