Is there a way to view or preferably transfer the files on your sd card to your computer wirelessly? My usb ports went out on my laptop and I don't have an sd card reader. My computer is a POS Hp dv2120us with windows vista. My DINC 2 is rooted running CM7 nightlies. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can try "my phone explorer" from market. You have to install Software on your Computer and the app on your phone.

ES File Explorer allows you to view shared network folders on a LAN. Sounds like what you're looking for.

I just love WiFi File Explorer it was one of Amazon's freebies of the day, and I use it all the time.
Works inside any browser just go the the link it gives you and you can upload download files without cables.

Ditto on WiFi Explorer or WiFi file transfer.

Double ditto on WiFi File Explorer, it works well!
I like Samba Filesharing:
http://is.gd/7HQwLI
Its windows friendly and allows you to mount the SDCARD as a drive through Windows. Very easy nothing to do on the phone after initial setup.
Cheers
Or you could view over an FTP. I use the stock file explorer on MIUI, which has built in FTP. Tons of options on how to do this i guess.
Thanks for all the input everyone. I left out one important detail. I do NOT have a wireless router either. I have tried wifi file explorer and a few others but with out a router its a no go.

I don't see why a wireless router should matter at all with wifi file explorer. I use wifi FE to access my phone from computers without them being hooked to wifi routers. I guess i'm not understanding what you mean by needing a wifi router...
Edit-my bad, didn't realize the PHONE had to be connected to wifi and not 3g to work...Hmmm interesting...
Sent from my Incredible 2 using Tapatalk
To get a wifi router could not be a big problem. In Austria you get them for 35€ (40$ - 45$ i think).
You could try the app "software data cable" but i don't know if it works without wifi. When you start the app you get a link for your browser on your computer and a password and then you can acces your SD card at your PC.
The app is for free so give it a try.

I can get a router relatively cheap, but money is extremely tight. Been dealing with alot of problems that cost money lately.
I will be getting a router tomorrow. I worked out a deal with a friend and he's going to trade me his. ツ

I do appreciate all the input from everyone. Thanks again.

Yeah this is significantly more difficult if you can't get the phone and computer on the same LAN. Your best bet might be Dropbox or a similar cloud storage solution.

Are you experiencing good transfer rates? I'm between 200 and 300 kb/s, which is slow compared to 800 kb/s of normal LAN transfering.
Anyway, DMZ doesn't appear to change anything.
I have my GNEX on Verizon. I have been trying to get the AT&T Uverse App to work since I downloaded it. Regardless of whether I am connecting via wi-fi, 4G or 3G, I cannot get it to work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to see if it was corrupted, but that failed as well.
Attached is a screenshot of the error (Unable to connect to Server). Is anyone else having issues with the Uverse App? Is this being blocked by Verizon?
The app worked on my Blackberry (course the BB was on AT&T).
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Here is another screen shot with full wi-fi.....
....when I have 4G or 3G bars showing, I get the same message as my original post. I am able to do every other task imaginable on either of the three data connections except for the Uverse app.
Well apparently there is a compatibility issue with ICS which is causing the connection error. I am sure AT&T will not be to hard-pressed to update their app until they are ready to offer an ICS device.....oh well....
any workarounds yet for this perhaps?
I'm having the exact same issue. I really hate AT&T.
Same....
I am having the SAME exact problem. Use to work fine on my Droid Charge, then I upgraded now I get the same thing all of you are getting. :-<
They haven't even updated their freaking app since August... They're pathetic.

It's AT&T. Their corporate physiology is just do the bare minimum. They built an app, some people can use it, that's good enough for them. Same goes for their network.
BTW: I am able to get to my DVR via the web browser:
http://uversetv.att.yahoo.com/wra/uverse/
I called att today about this. They put me through to the app maker who in turn blamed att. First they hung up on me after they told me it won't work on every phone and I called them lazy for not wanting to update it for new phones. The second time they blamed att. Idk...

I think it's an ICS issue. It worked fine on my non-at&t Nexus One on 2.3. I think there's a thread on the official u-verse forum about it.

I didn't see this before here so I guess I'm free to go ahead,
The wifi only thing is a bit of a hindrance to the tablet unless you pay for WiFi hotspot, well here's an alternative, FoxFi
This app, allows you to use your android phone as a FREE WiFi hotspot access point. And you DON'T even have to be rooted!
Play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxfi&hl=en
If link doesn't work then get the app from here:
Foxfi.com/bin

Not sure why but my Motorola Photon doesn't work with any wifi hotspot apps I've installed. It's rooted so it should work, but it dont. I have to use bluetooth pan, which works perfectly fine. Just check the box under the bluetooth connection's setting for sharing internet connection. Works great.

Sounds like you have the same issues as us here in Japan. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and when you turn on a rooted or non-rooted devices WiFi hotspot app, it actually goes in and changes your APN, to one that charges you.
There is also another thread on Docomo Samsung Galaxy SC-02C forum that discusses changing the settings to none instead of internet, but I forgot what that was.
I am not sure if this is what is happening with your phone but thought I'd share this.

YouTube isn't working..
I mean, I open it, type a Video Name into the searchbar, click in a video, it's opening like normal, but it's loading for ages, BUT nothing happens.
It won't load. Even if I open a very smal video.
I first thaught of waiting, and hope it will work out, like my Play Store did, cause I thaught theres something wrong with YouTube..
But Im waiting a week now..!
And well, stil not working...
What can I do about it ?
It's kinda annoying..
You're in the bus, you're bored, Ray William Johnson has a new Video, but you can't watch it
Anybode can help me ?
And btw.
It can't be the Internet Connection..
As I got good Internet connection everywhere in my home.

Seriously Im about to smash my phone into the wall.
It is p******me off!
I wanna download an Application; Play Store isn't downloading!
Wanna see a video:
YouTube isn't working !
Why it only works via Data Connection ?
My Traffic is empty, just cause I had to download some apps via Data Connection, cause I really needed them.

Maybe you may contact your ISP or change to other ISP
BTW you can try to find the applications' installer(apk) using your computer first
Then install it manually so you may save your data usage
No one system is fool prove
Try to reflash your rom, backup your apps first
Did u try your SIM with other phone to accessing the net?
Isn't this just a standard troubleshoot
It is not, cause I've already tried everything!
Reflash, BackUp, whatever.

I don't think it has anything to do with the phone itself. Check your DNS settings. Maybe you can't access Google DNS.
have tried delete proxy and proxy's port on your APN setting?
I'm not on an unlimited plan. It worked just a week ago but today I noticed that when I tried to enable Tethering and Mobile HotSpot it says:
Service upgrade required
Your current rate plan does not support sharing your phone's data connection with other devices using USB tehtering or Mobile HotSpot for internet access. Do you want to add the Smartphone Mobile HotSpot service to your rate plan now?
This is a stock Android 4.1.1. The only thing I did recently was request an unlock code for this phone. Was that what tripped the HotSpot block?
No they're just cracking down on it.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
You have a tethering plan? Call them...
This is exactly why i flashed a custom cyanogenmod os because the stock os prevents you from tethering and if you get a custom rom which by default tethers without tmobile knowing, then tmobile will see your user agent on your laptop as a desktop user agent and block you from the laptop side so the laptop will see a captive portal. So the way to get around the captive portal is to just install a useragent plugin on teh chrome or firefox browser on your laptop/pc and set useragent as googlebot then your good to go, happy tethering.
I got all you can eat true 4g which is not at all limited unlike the other 4g plans that are limited, mine is true unlimited, i can use 16gigs or a 100 gigs and it will always be 4g so i'm glad I can tether.
Cracking down...

They'll cut you off pretty soon if you don't stop, or figure out some other way of tethering.
I got the same message, but what makes it different, I was not tethering. I was only watching video on You tube using the stock browser. Now whenever I go to You tube on my browser, I can't watch any video anymore, I have to use the you tube app. I prefer watching over the browser. So I will call them and see whats up with this deal.
