I have tried 3 different ROMs now, and different kernels, but my video playback on MP4 files I'd just terrible. This is on my Incredible 2.

Did you seriously feel it was necessary to post the same exact question again?

Yes I did. When I didn't hear from anyone an answer that helped. It's just a couple of MP4 files that play the audio fine but suck on the video. Can you help?

Hi, I'm a proud owner of a brand new mb525 with a 2.1.1 stock ROM installed on it.
I recently tried playing a movie on it and found out that whenever I fastforward or backforward it, the video becomes unsynchronized with the audio. I've tried multiple players but all of them gave me the same result.
Has anyone else been having this problem? How do I fix it?

I'm having the same problem after installing CM7
Can you upload example, where video unsynchronized with the audio?

Not anywhere specific, I just fast forward once and then I see the lips moving and the sound comes about 7-10 seconds later

Official 2.2 here and I have the same issue with pretty much any Xvid I try (torrented tv rips mostly). Using soft decoding in MoboPlayer solves the problem for me.
i had it with default 2.1 on my defy... also happened after a pause does anyone knows if is there any player that solves this?
For some reason my video playback has sucked lately. MP4 files are choppy and slow. I've rebooted, and tried MX Player as well as VPlayer. Any ideas?
What Rom are you using. Using the stock SD card?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
Running Gingersense with a 1.6Ghz kernel. Stock 16GB micro SD card. The phone itself is quick.
Anything I can do to get it playing videos?

It's multiple videos so I know it's not just one single one. Dang I hate wiping all the data but I suppose it's time. Is there a way to speed up loading all my apps??

Just tried Mobo and it's the same. Audio is fine but video is slow...
Does anyone have any other ideas? I have since tried two other kernels and two different ROMs. Running Cyanogen 7 now. Video playback still stinks.

Hi.
Problem is with HQ videos (movies etc).
Mostly HD videos have NOT the sound (experienced with MX Player, default 4.0.3. & 4.1.1 version players). Playing them with VPlayer (paid version) it force closes sometimes without any notification or something. Probably force closes because of RAM (not ROM).
BUT videos which haven't sound playing on other video players have sound on VPlayer.
The issue is on any ROM.
Please help me if you know the answer.. Thanks anyway
have a nice day..

Did you try using the S/W or S/W (fast mode) codec other than the default H/W codec? It's located on the top right and me and my brother have been using MX Player Pro and we play MKV files all the time.
(just dropping by on HoX section to check my brother's thread)

of course. anyway it isn't working.
p.s. just found out that the issue isn't only with HQ videos but with several formats..
yesterday watched a HQ video on MX Player and it worked. Now tried different video on MX Player, and again. There's no sound.
With VPlayer the sound is always but the player uses (probably) too much resources so it's force closes. Or VPlayer is stupid (hate paid apps that fails)
p.s.s. Just changed the sound_effects.conf file from system files (/etc) to the original one. Anyway it's not working.

Just found out that MX Player doesn't play sound for the videos that H/Q Decoder is NOT supported. How can I run them on MX Player with sound cause S/W player and S/W (fastmode) have NOT the sound ;(
and I don't want to use that freaking $#@$^ #@%$# @ %^ &#@* [email protected]%#^! VPlayer (+paid version).. (hate the refund policy)
Anybody have the same issue with H/Q Decoder for several videos?

I'm having trouble playing some videos on my phone. They are .mp4 videos and I'm trying to play them in MoboPlayer. The video opens for a second and then closes and I get a message saying the video can't be played and to try soft decoding. When I try soft decoding, the video plays but it's really slow or choppy. Any thoughts about whether it's a codec issue? I can play .wmv files fine. I've tried other players. Could it be an HD issue, the videos are 1080p? I'm running the latest Viper ROM.
Thanks.
Yeah it's the 1080p part. Have you tried MX player though? Wicked sweet player with tons of functions. I would get a file converter n bring it down to 720 honestly.
