video player force closes - HTC One X

Hi.
Problem is with HQ videos (movies etc).
Mostly HD videos have NOT the sound (experienced with MX Player, default 4.0.3. & 4.1.1 version players). Playing them with VPlayer (paid version) it force closes sometimes without any notification or something. Probably force closes because of RAM (not ROM).
BUT videos which haven't sound playing on other video players have sound on VPlayer.
The issue is on any ROM.
Please help me if you know the answer.. Thanks anyway
have a nice day..

what could be the problem?
oh. some time ago I installed VolumePlus..? and I had it wanted to change one file in system files.. maybe that's the problem? but I don't know how to solve it :s

Did you try using the S/W or S/W (fast mode) codec other than the default H/W codec? It's located on the top right and me and my brother have been using MX Player Pro and we play MKV files all the time.
(just dropping by on HoX section to check my brother's thread)

of course. anyway it isn't working.
p.s. just found out that the issue isn't only with HQ videos but with several formats..
yesterday watched a HQ video on MX Player and it worked. Now tried different video on MX Player, and again. There's no sound.
With VPlayer the sound is always but the player uses (probably) too much resources so it's force closes. Or VPlayer is stupid (hate paid apps that fails)
p.s.s. Just changed the sound_effects.conf file from system files (/etc) to the original one. Anyway it's not working.

Just found out that MX Player doesn't play sound for the videos that H/Q Decoder is NOT supported. How can I run them on MX Player with sound cause S/W player and S/W (fastmode) have NOT the sound ;(
and I don't want to use that freaking $#@$^ #@%$# @ %^ &#@* [email protected]%#^! VPlayer (+paid version).. (hate the refund policy)
Anybody have the same issue with H/Q Decoder for several videos?

Video playback issues

Hi,
I installed LeeDroid and HD Revolution and both roms have slow fps(video seems to freeze) with stock video player and MX Player..
Do you also have this problems?
How can I solve... With stock firmware it doesn't happen..
I also tried to reverto to stock rom with RUU but it says that I have downloaded the wrong version... any suggestions?
You should try Dice Player. Make sure hardware acceleration is on. Dice Player is the only player that let my old One X play an .mkv video with 1080p h.264 level 5.1 high profile 40Mbps (an insane bitrate). Btw, I used to run Insertcoin on my One X. Btw, MX cannot force HW acceleration on videos, so if a video is in unsupported format, it will resort to software mode (which burns battery much faster).
If this doesn't help, you can always play around with different kernels. Some kernels are better than other with video playback.

Apps to watch .avi files

What is an app where I can watch .avi files on my nexus 7?
I've tried looking around but I don't see any one talking about it...
QQPlayer!
Is vlc supported yet?

MX and Dice Player are the best options imo, I've only been using MX player though as it hasn't given me any problem with any of my movies including 720 & 1080p flicks. I heard MX dropped DTS support so some movies may not have sound, that's where dice player comes in.

Yeah, I kinda regret buying MXPlayer Pro. Should have read up more before buying anything. BSPlayer is good but, no screen lock.
DICE Player plays my .avi files but, sometimes, I have to start them a couple of times because the video will fc and throw me back to the Skifta Video Browse screen. Weird.
Yes it is good, but I want an app that hides the soft keys like the video app which incidentally works great for mp4 files.

The main reason I switched was becuase I was getting no audio with .mkv files in MX Player, whereas in BS Player all the files I tried were ok.

Either MX or Dice. Since Dice is crashing for you, try MX
Since update for 4.0.4 I've got problem with video playback - every avi randomly crashes (going back to menu) on both MX and VLC player - sometimes it runs for few minutes, sometimes it run for minute or less. What is the problem? I watch many movies on my HOX before the update and there wasn't any problems, now it's quite annoying. It's the software problem? If I convert the movie to .mp4 will it fix the problem temporally? If MX and VLC crashes I doubt, that using other player will help...
Try MX player. I'm using it ( especially with option screen lock )

I've mentioned twice in my post, that I'm using MX Player (full paid version). I wondering that, if it appeared in more than one player, then it's the system problem, not the player.

MX Player is the first choice.:good:

Thanks for pointing to MX Player.
It works great with the Viper ROM.

Best movie player for Nexus 7?

What's the best movie player for playing 720p files? I've heard the stock player doesn't play all file formats. What do you use?

I second the use of MX Player - been running it on both my phone and the Nexus 7 and it's great. I like that it was gesture controls as well as on-screen buttons.
The app called 'MX player' is the best player I found. It plays just about any type of video format you there.

I used MX player since I purchased the N7 and i found it almost perfect. For everything else, you can try the nightlies of XMBC. Probably once it will be polished will be a good alternative.

So far I've been using MXplayer, however, and ideally, I wish I could solely use VLC as I'd prefer to rely on open source software.

Diceplayer works well for me using hardware decoding.
MXplayer stutters for me using hardware decoding. Software decoding works fine on MXplayer, but uses more battery than h/w decoding.
Nothing I have found gas played 1080p video with DTS audio add well add bsplayer. This is very important to me add I rather not have top convert or download different versions for my mobile device

No one here uses "Super Video, Floating and Popup"? This and Mobo player have been ole faithfuls for me. For one Super Video has gestures, (turn volume up and down while watching movie), Also after one video ends, it automatically plays another. (Works very well when watching saved music videos, and don't want to have to click on another video after the last one ended.) It also has minimizes to a small floating video so you can see your home screen in the background while you continue to watch movies/videos.
If MXplayer does this also, i might need to give it a try.
The stock gallery app is easily the best for playing videos it supports.
I don't think other players support the LPcore and stuff, and they use waaay too much processing power. I have tried 3rd party ones but they all use more than one core at nearly full freq most of the time. This is why I'm using stock
Feel free to prove me wrong though

Problem with movie player

i got an HTC one x device recently and i tried to play a HD movie on it it was 720p BRRip x264 AAC. the movie played smoothly, but the was a problem every time i try to forward the movie to a certain time it skips to a completely different time i tried to install 3rd party programs, still didnt help. so any one know what's the problem?
P.S : my device it up to date and running on android 4.1.1
if u need more info just ask and ill reply as fast as i can. thanks
does it do so only with that video?

Try using ' MX Player ' or ' Mobo Player ' they both have hardware and software support, you could alternate.
