First Question <-------- Solved!
I am currently on Softbank in Japan using an HTC Desire I received as an upgrade. I mainly bought it to tether at work and use Skype on 3G as I don't have internet, and I like to keep in touch back home.
So I rooted the phone, and installed the latest version of Open desire.
After doing so, I noticed the battery life was terrible. Reading a thread on this forum, I read a vague answer on why its being caused, and an even more vague fix. (I can't posts links)
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=781493&page=3
Is there a way to manually perform the modifications Softbank made to their Android ROM's? Except as a patch on my already installed ROM?
Second Question:
Also, though I really enjoy Open Desire, I really like the apps that came with the HTC Softbank Desire (mainly the calculator, Contact manager and the clock/weather).
If I install the updated Softbank 2.2 Froyo on my phone, can I just pull all the apps I need with the SDK and ADB.exe? Then re-install the apps on my Open Desire ROM after I flash back with my Nandroid backup?
Made my questions more organized.
thought I'd bump to see if anyone knows.
still looking.
Hi!
I am realatively new to Android and when I sync my Desire HD (unlocked to all networks and sim free and not rooted...) I get this error message -
Your phone is set to block the installation of applications not obtained from Android Market. Please modify the settings for installation.
My question is - how do I do this?

i also got the same problem and mine is that my phone run with froyo 2.2 and has no unknown resource, so i cannot install any app except downloaded directly from play store please help.
Because I still cannot post in origin thread, I have to ask here:
At Desire Z / Vision I'm using this ROM
Vision Gingerbread Sense 2.42.405.2-WWE Untouched (from OTA)
It really works fine, no lags as in OTA-Stock 2.3.3, but there is one issue:
In received/send text messages (original HTC Sense-Module) no picture of the contacts from addressbook is shown.
What can I do to fix it?
