Full root

I am on the latest OTA. Is there another way to achieve full root with nand unlock other than OTA simple root? Doesn't seem to work for me.

From the latest OTA I ran UnrEVOked3 then ran simpleroot. Follow the instructions TO THE LETTER and it should work..
Sorry this post isn't more help.
I suppose you could do the step-by-step but SimpleRoot does the same thing just.. simpler..

It would probably be helpful to throw a link in there.

Look half way down where it says "1 you need samsung galaxy s drivers."

How 2 root epic 4g the easy way?

Hi, I'm a noob wit a epic 4g, wat I've learned so far I've got from randy on youtube by the way much tnks randy, anyway dis is my delema I was on froyo 2.2 an 4 sum reason I could not get the 1click root 2 work so I odin back to eclair 2.1 so I could get z4root & try it tat way it says I'm rooted & I see the superuser icon but when I boot up to recovery its the same and the app store is thbe same I still have 2 pay 4 apps is there sum tin I'm doing wrong or is there an easyer way to do this I have a lot of rom's I want to try can anybody help me with this tnks in advance.

It sounds like you have some misconceptions. Rooting doesn't give you the new recovery. The one-click does both root and recovery. Z4root just roots. Also, root access doesn't make market apps free.
And the easiest way to do it is the one-click.
Ok tnks 4 clarifing my misconception of the z4root but should I via odin back 2 froyo & find an easy 1click root & CWM 2 boot up to my epic 4g or is there sum tin I'm doing wrong here

[Q] Need help with root, i747 ucalh9

Complete noob here,
just upgraded to a s3 from my inspire 4g.
I want to root my phone and I was looking at this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 but I couldn't find any information on i747-ucalh9. I did search the thread and someone had posted a solution but it wasn't very clear(to me anyways, Im kinda slow to this). I saw this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1902178 but got confused by the talk of different bootloaders. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I just need help getting it rooted and installing clockwork recovery. I'm familiar enough with installing custom roms on my inspire but any help is appreciated.

Just use the galaxy S3 toolkit
If you feel uncorfortable with ADB commands, then I would recomment you use the toolkit here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665
If you need to reset your counter you can always use triangle away to get back to normal.
Welcome to S3
The toolkit should work, but some have reported problems. This post describes another way (essentially the same way the toolkit does it but with an additional step to make sure the stock recovery doesn't automatically get restored on boot):

[Q] Rooting with out odin

Hi there,
Not sure if anyone can help me out here, but I have been looking all day for a thread which I used probably back in october to root my s3, it doesn't use ODIN, and it doesn't trip counter, I think the method involve me transferring some file which gave me temporary root and add some other file to finish the root process. Now i'm trying to help my sister to root her s3, and would like to use the same method because I don't have a PC to use ODIN.
J
If you have a Linux box or Mac you can use heimdall which is a terminal version of Odin.
On the other hand, I know the root method you are talking about but I can't find it.
