All the ringtones are pretty loud on the epic, just wondering if there was a way to make the ringer volume louder? Or maybe an app that would render your ringers with a decible boost.

There's an old volume hack out there. I can't remember who or where though. The file name Samsung_galaxy's_volumehack, if remember correctly. But you may want to check with your ROM dev .....I know a few ROM's have this hack built in

Ok so I am on eco5 using srf 1.2 and genocide 1.1.1. Does this rom/kernal have the loudness hack already installed? If it does not there are two files to download in the link, do I need them both? Do I just put them on my sd card and flash them?

yes every setting is all the way up.....even with the same music file playing notifications a very noticeably less loud the the general ringers
2 months later and still no solution???????
This works on my wife's LG Optimus: http://www.appbrain.com/app/louder-volume-hack-v4-1/com.AutoMod Not sure it will work on the Epic, but you could try!
What I do (free) is copy the notification I want to be louder to my pc then use Audacity (free) to amplify by 6db, then copy the file back to the phone. Works every time. Of course you have to be rooted to even access those files, just sayin.

I flashed this and it really screwed up phone. It factory reset my phone and when it started back up everything force closed before I could even log on to google. I had to redo the ext4 mod and wipe and reflash midnight rom. I would like to be able to use this. Is anyone running ext4 and flashed this successfully?
Some apps seem to not play nice with ext4. I've gone back to rfs until it's figured out.
viper rom volume hack worked like a charm....
Is anyone able to get the notification volume up to what it was in DI18? Since EB13 came around they cut it down to where you can barely hear it and the ringer is obnoxiously loud. Being I text mostly having the louder notification volume would be ideal for me.
IIRC I think someone patched this up in DK28 but I haven't seen anything on it since.

Yeah if you can make it work for EF02 it would be awesome.
has any one tried this on ef02? it may work fine...i haven't looked at the files but i'd say make a backup in cwm and flash it and let us know if it works...worst case is you have restore a backup no harm done
if it doesn't work then i will make one that works for ef02

Not true...there was a thread in this very forum just a day or two ago entitled "CM7 Camera sound" or something to that affect. One of the post contains a flashable file that gets rid of the annoying focus/shutter sound. Just remember that if you flash a new nightly you have to flash that zip again.
Isnt it just by deleting the sound file? I heard of that, but not sure where it is.
Probably the Sd card root?

One quick note: I ran into problems with DSP Manager because I was undervolting my phone. When the screen went off, the phone's CPU was restricted too much and any media would have a slight stutter to it. Anyway, not a problem if you're not undervolting, just a word of advice.
Ok thanks everyone

If you want to have louder volume Flash this zip. It was developed by Meltus SG3 Developer but it works on our phone. You can flash the zip or open the zip and place default.gain file to system/etc. and reboot afterwards to hear the difference it really works great with headphones. If you want to change the volume find 'AIF1 Boost volume' and change value from anything 1 to 63. You can edit the files yourself to the volume you want it to be but anything over 63 might break the sound so don't push it. I have mine on set to 60 with PowerAmp it's superloud and I love it LOUD!!!! More info go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722136&page=1
Did everything you said and working great. Got it set at 60 also and loving it. Thanks

Does it matter which recovery you use? I use TWRP and it keeps giving me the flash failed error message. This is actually the first file I have tried flashing since I switched from CWM to TWRP. I can just place it in the system folder no problem. Just curious if this is a know issue with TWRP.
So I edited all the AIF1 Boost volumes to 55... it didn't seem to make a difference. Is 55 too low.? I sent it to the pc and edited it in text pad.. Then emailed it back to myself. Then I used root explorer to put it in system /etc.

Actually, I flashed this and there is NO difference in volume sound what-so-ever.
And ACTUALLY, I never found any sound "tweaks" that really worked, except
the app. Volume+ version 1.7.1. (Please remember the Version, as any version higher than that will NOT work).
So, if you REALLY want loud, LOUD sound, try Volume+ V1.7.1!!!!
And for the OP, please take the Volume+ v.1.7.1.apk and see why it is the only
one that REALLY makes a difference in volume LOUDNESS...
It seems that nobody can reproduce that performance yet....(Are you man enough for that challenge??)
