Wheres the PSOne games I though the Arc would get?
I was under the impression (because its a Play without a keyboard essentially) that Arc owners would be treated to PS stuff?
It was a major pro for buying this phone!

Can I get NOVA2 for my xperia play through the Android Market? I have the game as I got for my Nexus S, but when I try downloading it on my Xperia Play, I am allow to download the game but when the start screen appears, it says my phone is not supported. Is funny as others not-supported games would usually not appear in the android marker, but this appear even though it will later tell me is not supported. Is the only way of getting this game through the Gameloft website?
Strange , I got it off the market with no problems....

You bought the OMAP version of Nova 2, Just because you now own a play dosent mean you are allowed a free copy of the snapdragon version. Thats why it's not compatible.
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
First of all, Nexus s is not omap, is hummingbird. And thr android market doesn't work as the gameloft wap store does. The android market will provide an apk based on the device that accesses it.
So if i buy something in any of my devices i can download it again in my other devices and i should get the right apk(provided that the developer provides different apk for different devices, which almost noone does). And android run in dalvik so i dont need different apks for different architetures. And that thing of buying an omap/snapdradon/etc version doesn't make anysense because i bought 9mm, tintin and order and chaos in my xperia and i can also play them in my nexus S.
Sent from my R800x using Tapatalk
I am pretty sure is just the screwup system for device detection that gameloft uses in all of its games. Good example is tintin, where a lot of people with high-end phones are getting the 2d version of thr game becuase apparently thir phone doesn't meet the minimum requirements(and i am talking SGS2 and GNex). Screw gameloft they should abandon their wapstore.

Actually the samsung hummimgbird is an OMAP based chip, infact it's almost identical to the A8. Whether or not you are right about the way gameloft games work in the market i'm not sure, i know i had to purchase all my gameloft games again when i moved to the play.

I purchased NOVA 2 on the Market during one of the Android Market only sales they had. It installed but when i tried to start it it told me it was incompatible with my device and would not download the additional files. Luckily it was within the 15 minute window and I deleted and refunded it.
It still comes up on the market for me as compatible but its not so I would suggest to those who have downloaded it from there, refund it immediately.

The snapdragon and the hummingbird are the two processors that are closely related, i dont know where the omap fits in this family.

Must be an R800x thing, just like with MC3. Except MC3 at least prevents you from downloading it, they likely forgot to mark off the R800x in the developer console when they loaded NOVA 2 to the market.
SO I stand corrected, if you have an R800x do not download NOVA 2 from the market.

Hi guys i just wanted to know if i should upgrade to the xperia s or wait for the xplay 2 to come out?Sent from my R800i using xda premium
Depends on if you're wanting a phone that can really play games or not. Though, since Sony Ericsson will soon be no more, it doesn't seem likely to me to see a 2nd gen PLAY
Could always upgrade and pick up a gametel gamepad to connect to the phone through bluetooth. Wouldn't be as good as a dedicated controller in the phone but a close second
Yes, upgrade to Xperia S
Xperia Play 2 won't be out before 7 mounths at least

Don't get the s3 if you want to continue gaming. Only get it if you're gonna use it for everyday stuff like calling, texting, emails, etc. The Xperia play has lived it's life, and now its time to move on. That phone is going to be futureproof for a little while so benefit from that

Does it has to be a DOA /all or nothing choice to make?
I vote for you keep both of the two¡*¡*you may enjoy the s3 and keep the xplay, to find out which one is the final option you choose to bring out with

I'm not going to lie, if I did not have the PLAY I would snag an S3. But I serioulsy loath touch screen gaming, cannot stand it. So I will keep using my PLAY until it just dies. I love my PLAY too much.
Also, I do love how many updates S(E) has put out for our phone in 1 year. To my knowledge an from my friends experience with Samsung there ability to update their phones is terrible. They may be number 1 in android phones but they practically never update their phones firmware, again this is simply from 3 friends having anything from an Infuse to S2.
What games do you have on Vita?, If Vita satisfies your gaming needs then get the S3. I just got a 3DS and I rarely use my Play for gaming now. :good:
Dont listen to the fanboys here.
The S3 is the way to go. Much faster, better update support, and way better features.
If you are against touchscreen controls, buy a PS3 controller

Yeah, and while you're at it buy a 14 inch LCD TV. :silly:
#gamingonthego
But seriously, it all depends on how important gaming is for you to decide which phone have, if you like touchscreen controls or not, and if your vita will satisfy your gaming needs. If gaming is not a priority then don't think about it and get a S3
Well it's up to you to make the final decision.
Here are some tips you may consider:
- If you want one of the most advanced smartphones at the moment, to have pride with your specs and to show off to your friends buy S3. Also, you get a faster experience and the latest Android version.
- But, if you like gaming moderately or a lot, you should definitely consider keeping the Play to achieve the best experience - playing on touchscreen is just a pain and it makes gaming less more interesting. Also, you wouldn't have wasted the money on those two products as well.
My opinion: I would keep XPlay, enjoy the products I bought for it, enjoy gaming and save the $800 for other things or better phones that will come in the future (preferably XPlay 2, if not, something better than S3).
Again, it is only up to you. Good luck!
I think you should wait for Samsung S4. They say that it will have a nuclear processor to make a phone call, and it will work in fusion reaction while you take pictures.
But when that happens you will be frustrated because there will be rumours of S5 that could simply read your thoughts. It's when you will not need stupid physical controls.

Emulates “virtual keyboard”, i.e. works with all apps and games that support keyboard input.

Hi guys
I'm thinking about changing my HTC One V to Xperia Play... is it worth? Some people say that Xperia-slider phones quickly get broken badly.. I've read that after few months of using phone don't looks as well as at the beggining, too... and is rooting, unlocking bootloader and flashing ROMs and kernels processes are complicated? It will be nice if Xperia Play long-time (something about 1 year) owners will say something about advantages and disadvantages of this phone... in stock or custom
Thanks in advance

Had mine almost 18 months and still going strong, no issues. Slider works great still and I have been completely satisfied with this phone and dont plan on getting rid of it for a long time. I find this phone is much easier to mod/hack then my old Motorola phones.
suerly it worth ,
xplay is really really #1 in compared to 1 core phones !
change it my friend , welcome to "god of one core " phone
I hope that there's no issues with BT headphones, too?

Well yea the screen is only strengthened mineral glass and not guerilla glass like most phones so it will show some wear at least mine does nothing a screen protector won't solve though and well by far the xperia line is a lot better when it come to flashing and SW moding then the HTC line trust me, with the HTC line you gotta deal with the s-on and a BL and all that crap and well Sony just has a BL that's unlockable and is like a nexus device when it comes to easy moding.

Also with the HTC line you sometimes need to make a Gold Card or a Y-cable for flashing.
On the Play, If your screen gets scratched, just remove the built in screen protector
