Hi,
I'd appreciate if someone can help me with flashing RUU.
My screen has become distorted and wanted to send back for repairs under warranty.
I was GB ROM and changed it to stock Froyo ROM for flashing RUU
However when I'm running the program, after it starts detecting it returns with an error:
Unable to connect/detect, ensure that the phone is connected thru USB.. etc etc...
I'd really appreciate a little guidance here.!

Okay, so:
1) Download this file:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.zip
2) Rename it to PB99IMG.zip (make sure it's not PB99IMG.zip.zip, because windows hides known file extensions)
3) Copy it on the root of your sd card (so not in any folder)
4) Boot your phone into hboot (start it with pressed and holded volume down and power button)
5) Enter the request and let the ruu install.

Edit: I mean the S-off process.
Btw:

I've only installed GB ROMs AFTER I'd rooted and S-Off.

Apologies for not clarifying.. I NEVER did upgrade it to Stock GB.
I'd rooted on Stock Froyo and installed Instercoin GB Rom after I'd S-off..
So does the Stock GB restriction applies in my case?

Use some logic...the RUU file is an .exe, which is a Windows program. This would mean you have to run it on Windows. Then you'd be presented with instructions for the rest. Use a little common sense
why not try another custom rom . it's great fun

As above - it actually has full instructions while running the RUU.
but for basics you click something like 'I agree to return my phone back to the stock image, and confirm that I know it will wipe all user data etc. etc'
Then click accept to 'I agree that it must be above 50% battery life, and connected to the PC via USB cable' - then I think it verifies that it can find the phone, then says something about it will replace the current image with the stock image (2.29.405.5), then basically just says wait a couple of minutes, your phone reboots and flashes for a few minutes (I think with a big HTC logo and a progress bar), then when it's done it says DONE! and your phone reboots into the welcome wizard as if you turned it on for the first time...

once you are that, you can just get the OTA and get up to date or just get it back to stock and ship it out.. no need for OTA

newbie here,
I have 2.3.4 which I will use a tool to downgrade the bootloader and use revolutionary (I promise to research more into this before I do anything ) but I just wanted to verify somethings.
What is the difference between the restore provided in the link first post by OP and the second more detailed post immediately after?
Will flashing the RUU reverse everything including S-OFF and my downgrading hboot (still learning what these terms mean.) Essentially, will it bring everything back the way it was when I first got the phone?

Nothing however seems to help, only thing I haven't been able to try is to flash a RUU, because I haven't been able to find mine, it's 3.14.161.27 , if anyone is in possesion of it or knows how to come by it, I'd really need your help!

It stays stuck on the boot screen of cyanogenmod, i've tried reflashing the kernel, fastboot erase cache, reflashing the rom, restoring to my old rom, which only changed the screen it stayed stuck to (HTC screen). And now somehow my Nandroid backup isn't on my phone anymore, neither is the cyanogenmod ROM, so i've got a Phone i've flashed the latest cyanogenmod onto, that's stuck in bootloop, with nothing else on it. I think that pretty much sums it up. My last resort is drowning or destroying it so my insurance wil get me a new one, however it will cost me, and I'd rather not destroy such a awesome device

Sounds like you need to flash the boot.img that supports hboot 1.36. Check the first post of your CM10 ROM. GPS won't work.
If you have clockworkmod 5.8.4.0, you can mount sd card and copy a different ROM on if you want.
If you have an older version, drop to fastboot and flash the new one (I say new, it's been out like 6 months).
i've tried flashing CWM, but in the cmd window, it says "FAILED <command write failed <unknown error>>
and then that it's finished
I would be grateful I'd anyone has this RUU as well. Restore is corrupted .

Haven't you heard of Kitchen? Crossfire has probably used kitchen to make the stock roms in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143410 Flashing the non rooted one is just a back up of a fresh European Rom turned in to a zip and the process of flashing the zip is way more efficient and easier than re-locking the bootloader and then flashing ruu which may take 10mins+.

Hello,
I want to sell my Desire on Ebay. Can I flash this Rom and sell my Desire with "original" Rom?
I just want to sell the Phone with an original Rom including root and a2sd. I heard that I have to choose the right Rom from http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Bravo but I found no information about the difference between OTA and RUU
Maybe someone can give me a link with a Rom I can use for that :good:

Yes, you can use the method I posted. Just make sure you are on the stock hboot.

Oh I´m not sure.
The desire has hboot 6.93.1002 with S-OFF. Is this stock hboot or not ?

If your internal storage is 147 Mb, then it's stock.

Yes you can use that, but its an ruu. It will remove root, and a2sd wont work because stock rom doesnt support init.d scripts.
Rom works great. Thank you very much guys :good::cyclops:
What about 7 vibrations and only view HTC Logo ? I try this IMG file ,installed succesfully but after that the phone again has 7 vibrations. It`s S-ON at the Bootloader...
Forget about my signature.I have Desire too...
