SanDisk releases mobile ultra MicroSDXC 64GB - On sale immediately [SHARE] - General Accessories

There is another similar thread in the Xoom section, but I'm thinking of sharing this information more specifically in XDA general.
http://www.seednonym.com/2011/09/sandisk-releases-mobile-ultra-microsdxc.html
Check it out, and let me know what you guys think. It's on sale at SanDisk's website at $219 but don't rush it.

Any devices supporting this?
Any Cell phone's?

I have stated in my website.
Currently there are no confirmations whether what devices support it due to the different memory interface. SanDisk doesn't provide any information as of now, so it's better to wait until the confirmation goes out for exFat systems.

I saw a post about formatting in FAT32 and it worked.
Not sure how true that is?

It is possible, but i think it does affect the system writing process. the reading speed might even be affected too.

shouldn't be too long before the 128GB cards come out

I have it and few other guys at SGS2 forum section. By default card is formated "exFat" our galaxy s2 phone can't read it, but offers to format it "fat32" takes few seconds.
After that it works perfectly fine.
Should work on any phone if formated to fat32. Hopefuly in the future we will have native exfat support.

From what I've heard Windows Phones should support 64GB microSDs without any formatting required since exFAT is Microsoft's proprietary file system. They either support them now or with the Mango update, but either way they're supported.

FROM WIKIPEDIA:
Operating system kernels, such as Linux, make no distinction between SDHC and SDXC cards, as long as the card contains a compatible filesystem.

That's the whole point exactly. I'd rather speed than storage.

I know that the mytouch 4g is able to support up to a 32gb microSD card (just ordered one from newegg.com), so perhaps checking with the manufacturer or the carrier to find out the maximum size microsd your card can support.

it's nothing to do with carrier but you can find the limit it supports in the manufacturers specs, however it is not always like that... as the limitation for HTC universal was 2 gb and with great devs here we were able to use card up to 16gb... so ask fellow XDAINS than the manufacturers... and since your device is pretty new model you should be able 32 gb....
Said there are 32gb sd card, but I got one 16 micro sd card.

Use an 32GB Class 2 SanDisk for my Android HD2. Can't argue (for Class 2): 6MB Write, 15 MB Read.
2TB is the biggest ive seen!

microsd card

I was thinking about upgading my wimpy 2gb microsd card and was wondering if a Sandisk 8gb microsdhc class four is compatible with the Incredible.
Thanks!
Absolutely...before you move anything to the new card format it in the phone.

Stock is somewhere around a class 6 I think... it may vary though. Mine was class 6...
Right now I'm running a 32GB Class 2, it runs great! Not even slow, honestly. It's a SanDisk. Don't be tempted by the cheap Kingston 32GB cards. They're scammy ****. I got one, luckily it was through a reasonable seller who refunded me.If you go for a 32GB, I recommend SanDisk. Buy it through Amazon, it should be about 80 USD.

I would think the stock card would be class 2. But mine didn't come with one. I had to buy one seperate when I bought it. I have a 8GB SanDisk class 2. And its plenty fast. Best to use a SD card reader for the best speed.
I just bought a new SD card for my camera (Canon T3i) and went with a 16GB SanDisk Class 4, and it can handle full 1080P video without filling the camera buffer at all. The class is actually the minimum speed it will write at. The Max is usually much higher. At least with the good cards.

Yeah, my stock 2Gb was a Class 2.
If the card isn't marked, it's a Class 2 card.
Class 4 is generally the slowest you want for decent HD video recording & playback if you do that.
Anyway, I'll check out the SanDisk 32Gb Class 4 and up cards on Amazon, I've been leary about the online MicroSD cards because I've heard about the Chineese fakes too. I heard that A-Data makes a good MicroSD card, what's your thoughts on them?
Is Patriot another cheapo like Kingston?
Thanks!

It support's 64GB micro sd card also from the looks of it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336961
Also I believe I had also seen a thread where someone use an adapter that combined 2 32micro sd card and it read that fine as 64GB. I believe the limitation for sd card support should be in how much Android itself can support.

I don't think so.
Since it is stated in the phone specifications that we could only use cards "up to 32GB".
I'm curious about this as well since I found my 32GB too small and was planning on getting a 64GB.
our phone support it.. 64 Gigabyte Class 10.. someone in XDA used it
he used SanDisk..

many people had used 64 Gb Class 10 microSD Card for their Wonder..
This is good news since I own a Galaxy Exhibit, thanks.
I can confirm that the Galaxy W can handle a 64GB MicroSDXC card. I tried out the one I bought for my SGN10.1 on it and it worked perfectly.
When a manufacturer says "Up to xxGB" it means that's what they have tested up to, and have confirmed to work on said device. Although, always proceed with caution in case it doesn't work. In this case, though, it does.
if I read it 2 days before, I want to buy 32 gb... but I bought 16gb class10. becacuse of sammy said gal w is just supports 16gb...

I have the Sandisk which is fine for me. Still don't understand that my old Nokia N97 already had 32gb whereas the superduper quadcore hype devices of today are still stuck at 16gb internal memory. These should have been at 64gb stock. Ah well...

Try to find ones that labeled UHS-1 (or UHS-I). If you want use torrents or others extremely high IO operations buy only ones with >40MB read/write specification (actual speed will be lower), otherwise stick with those with >20MB read/write.
ADATA has UHS-1 series 45MB Read/Write
SanDisk has UHS-1 "Mobile Ultra" 20MB Read/Write and UHS-1 "Extreme" 90MB Read/Write
List of course is incomplete, and all of UHS-1 labeled card also have Class10 label (because there is no higher Class)
Other that SanDisk "Mobile Ultra" will be expensive at 64GB and hard to find..
I've read somewhere Samsung micro SD 64gb is slightly faster than Sandisk one by a few mb/s transfer speed.
Ty for your answers peep.

I also went with the Sandisk 64gb one, I formatted it in exfat with windows 7 and its been great for movies.
