+1 for windows you still have to download and install the fastboot drivers.

I have a new droid Incredible 2 on 2.3.4 and with S-on. I also have a mac. Is there any way to root my phone?
I'm not sure if there is a mac specific option, but you could probably boot your mac using an Ubuntu live cd, and root from there.
There IS a viable 2.3.4 root now?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Just downgrade the bootloader to .97 then use the revolutionary tools. Either use a live cd linux or install virtualbox and install linux in there.
can you give step by step instructions on how to do that? i am pretty technical but i am new to android or can put a link that shows my how to do this?

You can deff install everything on a Mac, so you don't need a pc

I use Parallels with a Bootcamp-partition so I don't have to leave OSX everytime I want to do something with the GNex.

Its actually EASIER in OSX (no driver mess). Don't install bootcamp just for this.
Use ANY Windows guide. Simply use "Terminal" instead of "Command Prompt", and put "./" in front of any ADB or Fastboot command. I've attached the Mac ADB and Fastboot files in a .zip to this post.
Aka your first command will be:
Code:
./adb devices

Easiest way to root a Samsung is with a PC using Obin and TWRP and Chainfire AutoRoot. If you use boot camp for that Mac you should be able use Obin to root.

Thanks for the time to reply to this post which I know has been posted several times by other mac users in a different format of asking. By the way which Windows version would be best to use for compatibility of all android phones ability to root upon? Windows xp or 7?
