i have flashed cm7/r2 Hboot . can i return to stock Hboot . how i can do that safely . thank you
there should be no problem, just do it the same way you did flash cm7
only thing is you have to flash also a rom(sense ones) that needs stock hboot,
else you have to much system but to less data space.
but i would suggest you to try "Insertcoin Cm7" Rom, one of the best Sense Roms out there. So you dont have to switch to stock again.
best wishes
ps.: always do nandroid backups!

You need to flash the downgrader file first and then the stock hboot.

Only when you flash the hboot by ruu or ota. If you flash stock hboot by alpharev, you do not have to flash downgrader. But there won't occur any problem when one flashes downgrader first.
i have downgrade the cm7r2 hboot to stock, flashing before the downgrader and then the stock hboot. but it's remained the version of cm7r2 hboot (6.93.1002).

I'm using leedroid 1.4.1 and i've updated to Buzz 1.1.4 kernel. However, i didn't update my radio before that
I've tried using the easy s-off to achieve eng s-off so that i can flash my radio to the recommended one. However, the easy s-off tool is apparently not compatible with my current ROM/Kernel
is there any way around this? my battery is really quite bad and i hope that by flashing a new radio, my battery will improve.
Hope some expert can help me!!

you can flash a radio from recovery, but the .img has to be packaged up in the .zip correctly, maybe you should pm someone with more knowledge about this, i also have only radio s-off and would like to know
If I had known better..I wld have done the Eng s-off before I did the flashing of the firmwares.
No idea that radio will be necessary to update..
You can reflash a custom rom with 1. 32 base and then you can attempt to achieve eng s-off. Do not forget to nandroid prior of reflashing so you can revert back to Lee's 1.4.1.

oh..do i just flash as per normal or would i have to downgrade using the method as in this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
Mine is already rooted so i should be able to just flash 1.32, get eng s-off and then come back to 1.4.1?
When you say revert back to 1.4.1, does it mean that i just run recovery after i've achieved eng s-off and i can go back to 1.4.1?

Exactly that
what about downgrading to 1.32? just flash?
As long as you are rooted your real base is 1.32. You do not have anything to downgrade. You just flash a 1.32 custom rom. When i say revert i mean the nandroid backup that you create from recovery.
After finishing the s-off just boot into recovery and select backup/restore and then select restore. After it finishes restoring it will be againn at Lees 1.4.1

okay..now i'm trying to get back to 1.32..hope it works!
somehow it doesnt work..
i used modaco r2 to go back to 1.32 and tried to s-off. it says successful. after which, i restored nandroid and tried to flash the radio. it still doesnt work..get stuck at the sending radio part.
did i do something wrong?
1. Nandroid backup
2. Go back to 1.32
3. Radio S-off
4. Flash radio
5. Recover nandroid
thanks..i'll try to do that when i have access to ADB..in office at the moment.
Now that Alpharev has come out with new sized Hboots, there is a new one called a downgrader. There doesn't seem to be an explanation for this. I flashed cm7r2 before and I would now like to go back to Stock. Do I flash the downgrader before I flash the Stock? What happens to a nandroid backup of a cm7r2 rom? If the Stock Hboot flash does not go as planned, will it still restore?
The new hboots are like locked and no matter what, if you use an RUU, the hboot won't be overwritten, so therefore to use one you need to use the downgrader so you can use an RUU.
The backup will be on your SD card.
Hi. I am currently using Supernova Rom but want to try Runny 3.5. I was thinking I would use a completely new memory card for Runny so I can leave my current memory card untouched (thought this would be best because Supernova uses Data2SD). I will obviously perform a nandroid backup.
1. When going to CM7r2 hboot for Runny is there a way to backup my current hboot to flash when going back to Supernova? Am I correct in saying the hboot is modified when you s-off so to remain s-off if going back to Supernova I can't just flash a stock hboot or I will be s-on?
OR would I have to go back to a stock RUU ROM and root and s-off again and then restore nandroid backup?
2. What exactly does a nandroid backup backup on your phone? Does it backup hboot and kernel?
Thanks
In response to my own question. At http://alpharev.nl/ is says if you are already s-off just flash a hboot from the website so would this be "Bravo Stock"? Also when flashing CM7r2 hboot will I remain s-off?
If you flash a different hboot, you will remain s-off. This will not put you back to s-on. So you could flash CM7r2 try any amount of rom's you wanted, then flash a different hboot and try a rom that requires that hboot. You will remain s-off unless you flash a RUU.
A nandroid backup will backup your kernel and everything on your phone at the time of backup.
Hope it helps.
Thanks. Seems reasonably simple then. I will probably have a look at Runny tomorrow i reckon.
My HOX is currently running ARHD 18.2 and i have a hboot 1.39 and i want to go back to stock
1)i can't find JB ruu for j_15
2)do i need to downgrade my hboot in order to flash a ICS ruu
3)how to downgrade
You cant downgrade in any way unless you have an s-off device. You need a stock nandroid backup !
Just checked ... there is a nandroid backup available for you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
Restore it including the boot.img and you are back on stock
i have a nandroid backup i made i when i first rooted my device.
I can only go to the stock JB now or i can never go to stock again??

What do you mean exactly. If you have a stock nandroid backup you are actually going back to stock ....
does other numbers matters apart from 415 because it has to backups 3.16.415.4|1.29.415.x.and i have a stock ruu rom that i installed once has no's 2.17.415.2

i get it
Depends on what you really want. The nandroid backup 3.16.415 is the stock JB......the ruu with 2.17 won't work anymore because of the updated hboot.

i just want to get back to stock cuz my phone is acting crazy like all of a sudden preparing sim, heating up in normal use etc
Ah like that. According to your hboot (1.39) you have to restore the 3.16 nandroid backup. That's the stock one matching your hboot number

is there anything else i should knw
You need to flash the boot.img, do a full wipe in the custom recovery and restore the nandroid. Then you will have the stock software back on the phone

one more thing can i keep custom recovery with my stock rom or i have to flash stock recovery in any case
No you can run the rom fine with a custom recovery.....the only thing you can't do is update the phone with official ota
Is it possible to downgrade hboot from 1.39?
I think my hox failed when i upgraded to 1.39. I have tried all diffrent kind of roms and RUU.
The symtoms: The desk freeze up and I have to use powerbutton to get the panel to work again. And it sometimes start flickering and I have to use powerbutton to get it straight. The wifi don't work when i wakeup the phone, I have to restart wifi to get in running.
No not possible unless your phone is S-Off but that's very unlikely.....
You cab however flash the standalone firmware again to make sure your bootloader/hboot is without errors
You can check this thread for that .

Flash the stock hboot from alpharev similar to the way you flashed cm7r2.
There is nothing like best hboot. Its just partitions your phones internal memory.
