I request that there should be a forum dedicated to this guy. But I do realize that this phone is probably Canadian only so...
That would be awesome
+1. Would be great to see this.
FYI: it is not Canadian Only. It's called many names: Samsung Gravity SMART (tmobile), Samsung Gravity Touch 2, Samsung Smart, Samsung GT2, Samsung SGH-T589, Samsung Galaxy Q. All basically the same, some with slightly differing radio bands ofc.

Hey,
Is there any guidance available on enabling the hidden bands on Galaxy Q ? I am interested in activating UMTS/AWS band.
Currently on my Q, band enabled are only GSM and HSPA.
Guys .. you all should instead ask in this thread for this..

Hope you will get it:thumbup:

The Galaxy Note 2 will have the same specs whether it is US version or International version. The forum is the same for all variants. The only difference will be when you go to development, there is a separate sub-forum for each carrier. this is the same model that was used in the US Galaxy S3 forum. You are in the right place.
I have seen that there are 2 versions of the Galaxy note 2
version 1. Samsung N7105 Galaxy Note II LTE
version 2 Samsung N7100 Galaxy Note II
Are the roms in the rom section compatible for both versions or ther should be a different forum thread for the Samsung N7105 Galaxy Note II LTE just as there isone for the Galaxy S3 gt-i9305?
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105 LTE
Are there any roms yet for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105 LTE ?
There will be when its released in an English speaking country.

I'm kind of hoping the ROMs will be compatible, since I doubt many people will be getting the N7105. I kind of want to, however, since the N7100 won't support 4G in my country.
I'm quite sure that the talented dev in XDA can managed to find a way to easily port ROMs between LTE and non LTE. I was hoping that the only difference is in the modem and not the ROM. Maybe just flashing some lib files can make the difference between the 2.

Singapore launching it from 19 October at all 3 Telcos.

It will be fine, all the US Galaxy S 3's can share almost all the roms/kernels (some better than others) so I don't see why the Note 2 would be much different. Obviously you'll flash different modems but roms/Kernels should cross over np.

Different firmware for the two models, rom for LTE don't available. I wonder for disponibility in Italy.
N7105 samsung galaxy note II LTE

Seriously, I did not know there were sooo many different variants of the Note II (LTE). After reading on a couple of websites that it had FM Radio I went ahead to purchase the LTE version and only to find out later that it did not have FM Radio enabled in the Singapore version.
Some say there is no hardware built within the phone to support FM Radio but when I called Samsung Singapore helpline (1800-7267864) and voiced my disappointment, over the local market being deprived of a very basic function;
1) First I was told, no FM Radio and to download Radio Application from Google Play the streaming kind that will incur data charges.
2) When I said, why is that overseas LTE model has inbuilt FM Receiver then I was told that Samsung was aware of this issue and that they were working on this situation and perhaps there will be an update soon.
So in other words, it may just have something to do with the ROM and or Kernal and the hardware is probably already there but disabled. I suggest, those who feel there is a strong need for this function (FM Radio) to call them up and constantly, get an update otherwise, Samsung won't really know that there is a serious market for this function. Just my opinion.
Hi guys,
I'm planning to get an att note 2. However I have a question: if the note 2 is unlocked this way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34995743&posted=1#post34995743, what kind of connection will it get from tmobile? 3G? 4G?
Does anyone have an experience?
Thanks,

I`m not sure on the bands but I do know the T-Mobile Version works on AT&T And I would assume it would be the same vice versa but need someone to confirm. Also T-mobile does not have 4G they have 3G/HSPA+

Thanks hyelton. Why not making note 2 penta band? It already costs 600 to 700, I think it's reasonable to ask this functionality. I think samsung is one of the companies who likes to make as many models as possible.
In case you weren't aware, as I wasn't at first, there is a forum dedicated to AT&T galaxy note 2. The threads there may help, as I know I've seen tmobile mentioned a lot in thread topics.

I would love to help you, but help yourself first: ask a better question

i think the carriers have a lot to say about that too. It seems they all want their versions to be different. I'm really surprised that Samsung was able to pull off giving the carriers virtually identical S3's and Notes. Seems like Samsung is growing some Apple sized balls.
T-Mobile's thirteen Android phones, the myTouch 4G, T-Mobile G2 and the Samsung Vibrant are the most impressive. If high speed 4G connectivity is important the myTouch 4G is brilliant. If you need a physical keyboard go with the G2. And if size is important the Samsung Vibrant is a neat little phone.
Hi all. I was hoping someone could explain why there is so little development on the N7105. Is there something about LTE that makes it harder to develop for?

I would rather say that the problem is that it is a "special model". The N7100 is the "standard model" that has broad availability and can be considered as the main product (compare with i9100, i9300, N7000 etc). Most users and developers buy the N7100 rather than the more restricted N7105 (that is a bit more of a carrier model, carriers without LTE etc offers the N7100).
I hope that it will change with the Note III but that means that the "N7200" (probable name) should have LTE - i.e. no more special editions - just ONE version for all. As long as LTE products are more of special versions with a heavy reliance on carriers, they will have less adaption than the more common HSPA model.

Sum up about it! And since N7100 was out before the 4G, people got it before N7105 thus the lack of support, I was considering changing to N7105 of it ever released with bigger storage, but seeing the support is serious lacking, I've decided not to do it.
You could customise N7100 custom roms to flash for N7105, there's a thread for that and people reported got it working and everything.
You can also check the ATT Note 2 thread as there are several roms based on N7105 (with no modem).

I wouldn't lose faith yet nattychris,
Those of us in Japan have only this week had our SC-02E version of the Galaxy Note 2 rooted.
I noticed that at least a couple of roms have been added or updated within the last 7 days for the N7105.
List (including N7105)
Hi experts,
Here on xda-developers, I read, that if we get the Samsung Galaxy S3, with the Exynos Processors, the APNs can be modified and can be used as a World Phone.
That means, if we are in the US we can use Verizon 4G LTE Network.
If we go to Europe, we can use the local SIM Card and use the local 4G LTE even from a GSM or a CDMA provider.
Here are my questions.
1. Is this possible? Is the information true?
Here is the link for that.
http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...ther-variants/
If this is possible, can the same be applied to the Snap Dragon Processors?
Swapping the Samsung Galaxy S3 between different carriers, Is this possible?
From Verizon to use it with AT&T and vice versa?
2. There is also a thread which shows that, the Galaxy S3 can now be booted from a SD Card.
Here is the link for that.
http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...galaxy-camera/
If that is possible, can the Bricked G3 Phones from Verizon or AT&T can be reused?
Thanks a lot for the answers and sharing of Your wisdom on this.
Peace,
A J.
