I've been trying to find out if there is a way to separate the battery icon from the 3G/WiFi symbols in the notification bar?
I'm not a developer of any sorts, but I hope to pass this info, if at all possible, to someone that might be able to. Unless if course there is someone here that can create a flashable mod for this?
Either way, I appreciate the read and any replies.
Thank you,

P.S.
I know of the extended settings mod that Andy Thomson has created and it is really close to what I am looking for but if this could be done, it would be the icing on the cake.

Are you on MIUI?
I didn't quite understand what you were trying to do until you mentioned extended settings, and I still kind of don't.
But if you're trying to put the battery icon on one side & the signal bars on the other, you could hide the battery with extended settings and use an app that shows a battery icon in the status bar. That battery icon would be on the side with the notifications since it's an external app.
If you could make a mockup or take a screenshot & show where you want the icons, I might be able to help you out. All of the modifications I've been able to figure out have been from MIUI, so I don't know how well it would translate to other roms. I'm sure that *if* I could do what you're trying to do on MIUI, someone could make it possible for another rom. It's just easier to do such modifications on MIUI.

Could anyone tell me how to eliminate the Battery symbol and time in the notification bar? I have the bar hidden right now, but I use a different app to monitor the battery, so I don't want two indicators up there, and the time is useless since I have an app on the screen showing the time.
Thanks for the help in advance.

you will have to do this with a custom home screen (aka launcher.)
not sure which, launcher pro or ADW but one of those can modify those settings to a certain extent. I dont have exact details but someone can provide them. also that might require root... are you running root? how about any custom roms? I am pretty sure cyanogenmod comes with ADW, and that in CM adw you can modify those. good luck --josh
I'm running sky raider 2.5.0 and it has launcher pro in it. There is no options for that. Oh well. I'll figure it out eventually.

Go to the Themes and Apps forum. There is a thread in there with zip files for removing the clock, location reticle, and/or battery icon.
Hey folks!
I've noticed that some of the ROMs have a number displayed in the battery indicator, at the top right corner of the screen(I think it's called the status bar area). I'm running the latest Sprint Lovers ROM and originally I had this feature. I kinda liked it. Actually, I like it alot. So yesterday I added the power control widget to my notification bar and in the process I overwrote whatever was enabling the percentage to be displayed inside of the battery indicator. So my question is how can I get that feature back on my EVO?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm new to this stuff. I have no clue how to edit an .apk. But can I just copy the original framework-res.apk from the Sprint Lovers zip file and overwrite the existing framework-res.apk on my phone?? Will that do it?
I have Cyangen on my incredible and I was wondering if I could replace the battery icon with an icon that has the percentage on it. I have battery issues and would like to have granular notification of the battery status.
I had a sense rom that had this built in. Now that i'm running cyanogen I would like it back.
Its also built-in you have to turn it on. It should b under settings, cm settings, you can change lots of ui settings, i.e....clock color, batt %, etc

You can use this site to change the battery icon among other things you can try the UOT Kitchen.
(Sorry, I haven't posted enough to be able to post links, so just Google the UOT Kitchen)
UOT Kitchen Thread is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775970

it's pretty simple todo yourself. find a ROM that has that mod, and take some files from the drawable file add it to yours and then edit the pngs.. lou made a video its on his rom page to help with this specifically.
Hi all, I have a T-mobile SGS2, rooted with stock Rom (Gingerbread) And I was wondering if it was possible to modify the pull down status bar?
Such as change the Icon and function of the Bluetooth toggle, to Data on/off, or Flight mode?
If so, is it possible to Mod these without flashing a new Rom?
Any directions to existing tutorials/guides, or a utility to accomplish this, would be deeply appreciated.
*Note: Attached is a pic or the area in question, just so everyone knows what i was referring to.
If you are on stock no.
Just about ALL custom ROMs allow you to choose exactly what icons and functions go there.

Changing the icons is definitely doable and I can walk you through that. Changing the functions is beyond my capability but certainly not impossible. Although it would take some pretty comprehensive work on your part if you have no experience with devving. Much easier to just flash a stock-based ROM with the quickpanel toggles if you're looking to make extensive mods.

Thank you for answering so quickly.
I think I would probably have to bite the bullet, and start hunting for a new ROM. Modding the Icons is something I could work through on my own, but I am still way too green to go much deeper than that.

I think literally every custom ROM has the modded quick toggles so if that's all you're looking for, you're certainly not restricted in options
But not every ROM has the same mod for the toggles. I personally like the lidriod mod the best since you can pick which toggles you want and the order. Digital warfare for sure has this, I'm not sure about others. Juggernaut does not allow you to pick order or remove unwanted toggles I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
Nope, you gotta root and flash a custom
IHey there, i'm not sure if this is the right category to post it, since it's a request/idea/theme related, but anyways here's the thing.
The Navbar, It's nice to use but it looks kinda horrid, not to mention the screen estate loss & Screen Burn-in effect, So i was thinking.
So the idea is :
Can it be that the navigation bar would change color to match that of the app you're running currently? is it attainable? please fill me in
If not, can anyone help me on getting it Transparent (regardless of performance drop, it's okay) because i looked everywhere and i can't find anything about it, Changing it color or making it transparent would do for now until that feature is available (in the next android update or in a Custom ROM like AOKP/PA/CNA.
Thanks in advance ;A;
[Fixed] : ParanoidAndroid added this feature and nailed it, thanks!
