How to Update Radio whit CM7r2 HBOOT - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I already flashed CM7r2 on my Desire and now i become always a error if i update my Radio. Anyone can tell me what can i do?
Sry for bad English :/
LG SDR

You have to fastboot flash radios. do not use recovery. More information in my signature if this doesn't make sense to you.

thx for the fast answer. I have test the AndroidFlasher 1.8.0 but he fails by flashing bravo.5.17.05.23. (i downloaded the radio 3-4 times now ...)

Did you boot into fastboot mode? do so by powering off, then holding back & power.
if you did then your phone needs to be S-OFF (to check boot into bootloader, and it either says S-ON or S-OFF) to be able to flash things over fastboot.
You can S-OFF with revolutionary

my phone is rooted and S-off @ revolutionary - i use the tool AndroidFlasher 1.8.0 - he starts the fastboot and than error ....
Works now -
org. RUU
Update Radio
Flash CM7r2
Restore
Works ...

[Q] Problems updating clockworkmod

I have been trying to update my HTC desire to the new touch version of clockworkmod (5.8.0.2) however from within the rom manager app, updating says it completes however on reboot nothing has changed, so I tried doing it manually, i run the command
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-bravo.img
each time i get the error when writing the recovery saying
"FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
How can I fix this?
I also tried flashing 5.0.2.0, with the same error, it still says its running 2.5.0.7 :/
please help
Thanks
are you s-on? if yes you can' flash it via fastboot
post info from fastboot mode
Thank you for the reply Kotag
My phone is in s-on
and the info is here attached as a screen shot
thanks
I presume you used unrevoked to get root... It comes with CWM 2.5.0.7
You could flash custom recovery from menu but never mind... go to alpharev.nl and get s-off as your hboot is 0.93 or you can use revolutionary (this is unrevoked and alpharev together)
after s-off you will be able to flash anything on the phone... including recovery
Thanks ill try that
yes i did use unrevocked
will making s-off will i have to reflash my rom and lose my data? :/
and also how wud i flash recovery then, because i thought u said earlier that in s-off i cant falsh in fastboot :/?
sorry just noticed my mistake... if you s-on I meant... post edited - reading too many threads
you should not loose any data if everything goes normal... do back up before just in case
When I s-off my phone, date and time always restart to 6 jan 1980 1:00
Anybody had a same problem? Im not s-off anymore
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
i dont have linux to run alpha rev, will revolutionary remove my data? :/
no it will not, just run it and enjoy

you don't need linux to run alpharev.iso... that is live cd, boot it as you starting your pc/laptop or revolutionary has windows modification

Bravo with SHIP S-OFF unable to flash with fastboot

Hi all, after reading through several tutorials including Bortak's and asking questions in chat rooms, I finally felt like I need to reach out for help on the forum. I have a HTC Desire that was hanging on white HTC screen and had no recovery. I have flashed with AlphaRev HBOOT and it now shows the following in Bootloader:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23
I have tried flashing CWM recovery but when I try to load recovery from the Bootloader it just vibrates 7 times and then vibrates. I just want to get the phone working again, but I am not sure what I need to do or what ROM/RUU I need to use. Also, when I try to flash from fastboot it gives me: "FAILED (remote: not allowed)"
Is this something to do with SHIP S-OFF and not ENG S-OFF. I think getting recovery working is the first step but I am lost.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
what did u, or were u trying to do before this happened?

I bought the device like this with SHIP S-OFF. It was fine, and then it started hanging at the white HTC screen, and would only boot up correctly once every handful of times. I assumed the ROM was unstable and wanted to flash a stable version of CM 7. However when I realised that there was no recovery I resorted to Fastboot. I then flashed an RUU zip (gingerbread) via fastboot and now it wont start at all, instead it keeps restarting. I have flashed CWM via fastboot to try and get recovery working but when I select recovery from bootloader it just vibrates 7 times.
My objective now - just to get the phone working again
when u hold volume down + power, what hboot is in the bootloader? (pink at top) also u could tried android flasher or the PB899IMG method to install recovery.

The pink at the top is "--- Alpharev ---". I did try to use Android flasher to flash recovery in fastboot mode but it says I need ENG bootloader or something.
oh rite. im not really sure im afraid, but i think u will have to use the bravo_downgrade.img from Alpharev or the PB99IMG_downgrade if u cant use fastboot commands then run a ruu. i think when u tried the ruu and it failed it was because ur hboot is 6.93.1002 which cant be overwritten by an ruu. The ruu to use would be the exact 1 for ur phone - devise, brand, region ect or use the 2.3 upgrade which is for all and can be found at HTCDev/ kernel source code/ see downloads/ filter by device (desire) below check other then find files, then ul see 2.3 ruu upgrade..
just wait and maybe some1 can confirm this first before trying it or if they have an answer

Do you think the fact it is SHIP S-OFF and not ENG S-OFF have anything to do with it?

check out bortak's guide. for what i know (since surfing xda), it is wrong to flash a ruu while you have a 'custom' hboot (the hboot is very important. you can see what hboot you have on the pink line. in fastboot screen. is it Alpharev Data++, Alpharev cm7r2?) but, as long as the screen of the phone is 'alive', there's always a solution.
for more info, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17829936
good luck.

It's not a problem to run RUU if you have custom hboot as long as it have stock partition table. Just try to flash downgrade from alpharev site and then run RUU from your PC.

OK so I downgraded the HBOOT using the downgrader from AlphaRev, then I ran the RUU for Android 2.3, but it still wont boot up. White screen appears for about 10 seconds then keeps restarting. Also the same happens when I try to open recovery from Bootloader. After running the RUU my bootloader shows the following:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-1.02.0001
MICROP-031d
RADIO-5.17.05.23
Any suggestions what to do next?
strange, when i used the downgrader (PB99IMG) it made me s-on then i ran the 2.3 ruu upgrade then used revolutionay to s-off. (dont ask why) lol
edit: when i used the 2.3 ruu i extracted the rom.zip and renamed it PB99IMG and ran it that way

the PB99IMG method didnt work for me - it didnt prompt me to update at all. It just keeps restarting at the HTC screen. Fastboot is still not letting me flash anything its saying FAILED: (remote: not allowed). Recovery is not working - is there anything else I can try?

thats very strange PB99IMG did not work. if "PB99IMG.zip" is on ur sdcard (not in any folder) bootloader should load it. did u rename it to PB99IMG.zip?

Yes, for some reason doesnt pick it up. I'm really unsure what to do. I cant flash using Fastboot, and after flashing the RUU I have lost the AlphaRev HBOOT and I cant get recovery. Can it really be bricked?

I am not familiar with this method of running a RUU by flashing it as a zip from fastboot. The standard method is to execute the RUU.exe from PC while the device is in Fastboot mode. Could this be the root problem ?

HTC Desire -- can't go to Hboot

Hello! I have the strangest problem, and wondered if someone could help.
I received a present from a friend, a second-hand HTC Desire GSM, but it didn't have stock Android and was running on a custom ROM installed on the SDCard. I wanted to install CyanogenMod on the phone itself (not the SD Card) and tried to with the phone by reading up details online. This is my first time with an Android phone, and I'm not sure what I did, but now I'm unable to boot into Hboot recovery.
I think the problem began when I installed the file "RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121865" from a certain website, and ever since I can't seem to flash the phone with another RUU. Can someone please help me make the phone usable again? I'll post the details below based on what I could find as of recent:
AlphaRev Oxygen r2
Bravo PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1882
M1CROP-831D
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27
You are SOFF.
Follow these steps in sequence
1. Get the stock hboot from alpharev.nl and flash it from fastboot
2. Get the 2.3 RUU from htcdev and run it from PC with phone connected with USB
3. Flash the 4ext recovery from fastboot.
4. Flash any custom rooted rom from recovery

Please stop telling people to flash stock hboot over every other custom hboot, cause most of the time thet will succed but eventualy someone will end up with hboot brick. It is recommended to flash downgrade hboot prior flashing any other.
In his case he doesn't need to run RUU, he is s-off so all he needs is a different hboot (oxygen has a lack of space on system partition), 4ext img from Jmcclue's thread that can both be flashed via fastboot and then a personal choice of rom.

I dont recall telling people to flash stock hboot before this. I had noticed that he has got a oxygen r2 hboot. It is perfectly safe to flash the alpharev stock hboot over this. I would only use the downgrader to remove write protection from my hboot so that when I run the RUU I get SON.
The OP also stated that he is not sure what he has done so I would run the 2.3 RUU just so that he can work from known territory.
hes S-OFF with no recovery and has CM rom on sdcard soo like nloooo says flash recovery and then he can flash the rom on sdcard after a full wipe (if it fits on Oxygen r2 hboot) or change hboots and flash new rom if he wants

With S-ON you can't flash a radio as your nand partition security is still on even with an unlocked bootloader. Try flashing a ruu to get to normal state and then re try what you were trying to do. Besides, do not use the Hack Kit but the new version AAHK2 to be found in the general section of the forum.

If you want to make it rooted, but s-on, flash clockworkmod recovery into your device by fastboot, then put your downloaded ROM.zip into main directory of sd card, and go to recovery do full wipe, dont forget to go advanced and wipe dalvik and battery status, then install from zip. Reboot after complete again into fastboot open cmd and dive to directory where you extracted boot.img from ROM.zip and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and "fastboot reboot". If you need more help pm
I've software number 3.12.405.2 - btw. this number is very rare..
so I must flash RUU on the hboot?
maybe i must flash into the recovery? - what software i need?
How do I download ruu ?
Lol uncle google doesn't help or I don't know how to find it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okey, I fix it..
I turn on fastboot mode and aah 2 I flash radio for eeu - this fix radio.
Next I lounched normal aahk and all is ok.
I've s-off , custom recovery and custom rom.
Thanks Guys!

Stuck at bootloader

Hi all,
I have a HTC Desire at hand with following facts:
- no ROM installed
- I am able to go into fastboot or recovery (Team Win Recovery)
- I cannot flash any zip file from recovery - right after flashing system says: assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")=="bravo" (this is repeated for two times). E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/MildWild ....
- I was told, that it was rooted device, but somebody wanted this phone back to origin state and run the RUU (not sure which version).
- what I see in bootloader is following:
Alpharev Unlock
Bravo PVT4 S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.9999
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.05.00.11
Aug 10 2010,17:52:18
Question is now, how can run the RUU, lets say, we want to have this phone back to the origin state. (I find out in cmd, that it has CID= O2___01.). Can I somehow repair this?
I appreciate your help.
Thanks
fipo
EDIT:
I followed BORTAKs guide (assuming there was wrong RUU). I flashed stock HBOOT and run RUU (RUU_Brav2_UK_1.20.207.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_124865). Everything went to the end. But phone cannot boot again. There is only O2 logo at start and nothing more. After some minutes, phone is turned off. Please, help me.Thanks.
Try the 2.3.3. GB RUU instead, that should get it booting.
If you still want root and a custom ROM, there are several reasons why it may not have flashed:
- You didn't have an hboot properly installed (because it said Alpharev Unlock)
- You didn't partition your sd card
Assuming you flash the 2.3.3 RUU successfully, if you still want a custom ROM I'd recommend:
- S-OFF using 'revolutionary'
- Flash 4EXT recovery using fastboot.
- Backup sd card
- Partition sdcard (maximum 2GB ext4, no swap)
- Full wipe ('wipe all partitions except sd card')
- Flash ROM

EDIT:
I have tried several RUU:

http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bra...00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe
everything seems to be OK, until it says, congratulations .. blabla .. and then I am stuck at white screen with green htc logo ... How can I proceed? Please ..
Search for HTC Desire 2.3.3 GB RUU, you'll find it eventually.
Things to check. How did you flash stock hboot, and did it flash successfully? On the top of the bootloader screen it should say Alpharev Stock instead of Alpharev Unlock.
Then try running it again.

I flashed stock HBOOT via fastboot ("fastboot flash HBOOT ......img") - it says writing hboot .. OKAY .. I assume it went right.
I could seeon the top of the screen only Alpharev.
In the meantime I tried several RUU .. than I gave up. After half an hour I realized, that it works Sorry for bothering you, but I have working Desire running "RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed" and my last question is whether I can rerun some other RUU to have more languages incorporated (I am looking for Czech or Slovak). I would use English, but its not for me ...
Many thanks again.
fipo
Sorry I only have experience with english ROMs
You did flash a O2 UK RUU though. Perhaps try the Official 2.3.3. GB RUU, it should have more languages, though I can't be certain if it has Czech / Slovak
Main thing is you got it booting again :good:
