i am sure you must've banged you head into walls for solving that thing .. i did too .. .. try these solutions if you haven't tried them yet .. it would be more helpful if you describe how its is not working and what have you tried till now ..
1- confirm the correct setting from your service provider (i am sure you must've done that .. )
2- you must have two APNs .. one will be your GPRS/Edge connection (we don't have 3G ).. the other will be your MMS APN ..
3- i suppose the both APNs are correctly configured and your GPRS/Edge connection is working fine for browsing . but upon sending or receiving MMS your phone says " Generic network failure" and your data connection icon disappears .. or any one of both ..
4- if the symptoms above are correct ... make sure you have set the APN type of your data connection to "default, supl" .. if it is so.. and still MMS is not working.. then ..
5- change the authentication type in your MMS APN to"PAP or CHAP" ...
it worked for me. . . try to restart your phone after each setting ....
if this cant help you .. i am sure anybody else can do that .. plenty of great people here .. ... thanks to people here in XDA .. i also found these solutions here but i cant find them now .. ...

Same thing happened to me. I manually added the APN, and it worked.
Same ROM and it's working better than 2.1 for me once I set the network provider manually. The APN settings were already inserted.

I'm having the same problem.
How do you manually set up an APN?
Sorry for bumping this up and posting this kinda late, but you can find settings for your APN by requesting them from your mobile service provider. Try googling 'provider name' APN Settings. Then just add them manually.

No 2G / 3G network

Hello,
I have installed this ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683638&page=16 and it's working correctly accept the 3G (2G) network.
When I go to: mobile networks \ Use packet data this is activated but when push the button on the right of the GIO there is a screen opening and then it shows: Data network mode deactivated ...........
I'm not sure this has something to do with the ROM I have installed so because of that I open a new tread.
Who can help me?

When I read the above tread I see that there are more people with this problem and the are talking about setting up the VPN. I found it on my phone but really don't know what to do.
My provider is Vodafone and maybe somebody could help me?

Amm yes it could be. This is the configuration of the 3g/2g internet and mms. Each company have their own settings. In android the settings of apn are on Wireless settings/vpn. If you dont have anithing then your 3g dont work. Chek it
