Is there a way I can use cdma workshop or qpst to change my sprint banner? Well its not sprint its says "acs" because its SFR 1.2.. any nudges in the right direction without having to completely re install a rom?
Note: I'm talking about the "Sprint", or "ACS" depending on your rom, displayed in the pull down menu and in the phone information under the settings menu.

To my understandings, that will just change the network name on the lockscreen, not the pulldown itself
Thanks for the advice.. I'm not really into the whole decompile recompile thing.. it seems risky and since I'm unning unlimited boost I'm not trying to reload my rom. I appreciate any advice, if I find an easier method (I hope so) I'll def inform via this post.

Its a line change deep in the framework. To be able to change it you would have to decompile the framework and change the line back to sprint. If you don't want to go that route then try flashing a theme that is not built on there framework.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I have aquired the launcher from the Sidekick 4G. It is labeled "TouchWiz30Launcher.apk", same as ours. Now, I can't install it. Not rooted. It tries to replace our stock twlauncher. I assume the reason i can't install it is cause it needs the framework from the sidekick 4g. Lemme know how it works. I tried it once and it couldnt parse package, then i redownloaded it, and it worked fine(except it didnt install of course lol)

Have you tried renaming it? Worth a shot, amirite?
Probably wouldn't work though.
If you were rooted though, you could probably just rename the app and push it to the system/app section via Root Explorer.
If it's that easy, I'd love to see how everything goes for others.

I have a sprint epic that is on a different service. My problem is its running 2.1. I would like to get it up to 2.2 if possible. or is it safe to one click root?
I do not wanna screw up my service.
(Not sure if i can mention the service its on because some forums don't allow it)
Roms generally don't affect service, unless you flash the wrong modem. 2 things: look at syndicate rom frozen 1.1.0 in the development section and learn how odin works then you will be a much happier epic user. Whatever you do GET OFF 2.1 !!!!

so i can pretty much do the one click root and just dont mess with the modem by flashing anything different and it should be safe to flash those rom?
Mines on boost... you can change the modem np.. and the rom, they don't affect most service settings except mms settings. For tha I recommend apn back up and restore from the market

has anyone successfully performed a wimax backup for the Samsung epic. I know I know you dont need to backup up rsa keys and things like that,but I still would like to backup wimax img so I can see if I can play around with the image to get it to another device. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to do the process through the phone. I have term emu and connectbot. As I stated before any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!
(SIDE NOTE)If you also have any info on restoring image for different 4g devices sprint offers, I would like assistance with that as well,and i also tried different wimax procedures that was threads such as evo,nexus s, etc, current settings do not work for wimax backup for samsung epic

It doesn't exist, it probability hard coded and not on the NAND, that the wonders of Samsung
I wish WiMax settings could be adjusted on Nexus like on ET4G.

I think you can edit the MAC address on ET4G with Launcher Pro activities or is that only an Epic thing?

Yea so I was able to get wimaxlinetest up on epic touch two,the same settings that you would go to on og epic to edit wimax address and it seems that you are unable to edit mac address
Has anyone tried pulling the app from an E4g and running it on an E4gt? It would be nice to get this working but since wimax is 40 miles away, I'm not in a real hurry.

Hello xda, I have a big problem. Ok, I was flashing my epic 4g touch to boost. I have already flashed my epic 4g to boost, and I tried to use the epic 4g thats flashed to boost as a donor phone. Ok here is the problem, I made mistake and read the NV item numbers from the epic 4g and plugged in my touch and wrote them to my phone. Mind you im not talking about the 4 NV numbers thats necessary to write to phone. What ever NV item I wrote, changedy baseband to d700 el29. Now I know how to flash a modem to get it back to d710, but it also changed my hardware to d700. So if anyone can send me a batch file eith the correct NV numbers that I can rewrite to my phone and get it back to d710 hardware, I will be very thankful. Thanks in advance, all of you devs, are truly epic..... PS, I have my epic 4g touch on boost now, I went back an used the incognito, but 3g not working. Could it be I wrote the wrong set of NV numbers to my phone???

UPDATE::: I got my 3g working, but I cant seem to change my baseband and hardware back to d710 from d700.
Can you just go to recovery flash a modem?

Are there any other 4g models? I know nothing about this device I do not currently own one but I do have several requests to root peoples devices. Several people wanted put on boost to have a prepaid service but I just want to make sure that I have the right forum section

Don't forget the evo design, which about all u can do is root it and flash it to another carrier since it has 0 support anywhere on teh interwebz

I'm not new at flashing but I'm new at posting a forums i installed a LEWA ROM which is MIUI and C& combined great ROM but when if run the WiFi the phone locks up. I updated the radio and the PR and reinstalled ROM and still does the same thing. Any help will be appreciated, thank you in advanced.
