Did you put the sound file in the correct location with name? Also, next time just edit your first post to include other thoughts/questions instead of making a new thread.

boot animation sound

ok i had requested a bootanimation from a member on here which turned out great. I am wanting to add sound to it. Can someone tell me how to add sound to the bootanimation? I did a search but all i found was a bunch of bootanimation threads. Thanks in advance
This is actually really easy. Just take an mp3 file and paste it in system/customize/resource (using Root Explorer) and rename it to "SPC_animation_final.mp3".
Wow you can add any custom sound for when you boot? I rooted about a month ago and I love the customizing you can do. I swear I learn something new every day. What an awesome phone.

unless it is an AOSP rom, they you cannot as they do not have sound when booting. But if you are on a Sense based rom, then yes you can theoretically add any sound you want, must be named correctly and must be .mp3
ahhh that worked, thanks so much

[REQ] CRT Screen off

I had this mod on my SGS. Anyone figured it out for SGS2 yet?
In the meantime while mods are sorting this for us I can recommend "Screen Off and Lock", which has a CRT TV animation.
for CRT effect do as below
Decompile framework-res.apk and edit the file \res\values\bools.xml
Change value of bool name='config_animateScreenLights' from 'true' to 'false'
Compile framework-res.apk
Out of curiosity, what do you mean by 'CRT effect' ?

yep... mosey over to this thread and say thanks to rawat:

Does anyone know if the CRT effect mod is available to download without a battery mod attached to it also?
I only want the CRT animation but want to keep the original battery indicator. Tried decompling the framework res file but I'm kinda a noob when it comes to more advanced procedures. Couldn't get my head around APKTool or manager.

Do I just have put it randomly in the phone's memory/sd card and install it or do I need to put it somewhere specifically?

Instructions are in the thread. You have to replace your original framework-res.apk file, and need root access.
Thanks Rawat
Had my Galaxy S2 for 2 weeks now, rooted it, made a few mods and tweaks, waiting for my 16gb mem card to arrive and its good to go. Will have to bite the bullet and put my SIM in and retire my beloved HTC Desire
Finally found time to add this mod but i read through Rawat's other thread and it says not to install this mod if you're running VillainRom, which I am.
I know it is available in VillainTweaks but it also installs the battery mod which i dont want. I crashed my phone with force closes last time i tried to install an incompatible mod.
Use the file attached to this post then
NOTE: THIS IS FOR VILLAINROM KE7 ONLY.
I am kinda lost here.
I have KE2 on my phone. Came out ot the box that way. What file do I pick to get the CRT on / off animation on my phone ?
Will the KE7 file work or ?

this app is awesome and has some great screen off animations, like 10-12, no need to root for just one effect, this way you can get a bunch without the need to be rooted

[MOD] JVO - Volume adjust notification sound

Hello! I've ported HTC functionality which allows us to use .mp3 files as a volume level adjust sounds instead of simple "beep". Sounds are located in /media/audio/ui directory. Stock HTC ones are low quality, if you find better ones please post them here.
CWM recovery package contains framework.jar from stock deodexed JVO firmware and should be used only with it! If you want to make a backup, simply pull currently used framework.jar from your system and swap it with the one in my package.

Simply replace sound files Volume-1.mp3...Volume-7.mp3 which are located in /system/media/audio/ui directory with your own sounds.

[Q] How to change the boot sound?

Hello All,
I know this question was already raised by many but I dont see an appropriate answer to this.. I searched the whole forum but I didnt get a proper method of how to enable the sound file(mp3) saved in the bootanimation.zip. I got following thread which was quite useful but not totally..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22773156
Can anyone give me a proper method of how can I enable and change the boot sound please?
I saw some nice thread for moto droid but it has different format than that of Arc. So please we need similar kind of procedure for arc.. thanks..

Dude... Check it out... The name of the app is Bootanimation Changer, but it can also change the sounds!
Ok.. I understand that it also changes the sound but I wont to set my own sound n not the one which comes with the built in bootanimations in that list of the app.. I hope u got me now.. I dont see any option in the app where I can set my own sound..
if you are rooted then navigate to system/media find the bootanimation you want you use.
unzip file
insert sound files.
rezip
This might help not 100% sure.
I have not tried it dont know if it will work.

I think you just put a mp3 file called "bootanim.mp3" inside the bootanimation.zip file: -
* Extract the file some-where on your pc.
* put bootanim.mp3 in the same folder as desc.txt (this is the root of the extracted file).
* re-create the zip file called bootanimation.zip BUT you must use "store" compression.
* put the new bootanimation.zip into the /system/media folder of your android device (requires a program like "root browser")
That should do it...

Change S3 Touch Sounds

Hi Everyone! So I just rooted and debloated my T-Mobile S3 and I was wondering if anyone had gotten around to changing the stock button press sounds(blip) and touch sounds(water droplet). I've been creeping the internet and I can't seem to find a credible and sure fire way to do so. Anyone able to modify it? Thanks in Advance!
I don't know the exact file names but they should be in system/media/audio/ui. The file names will give you some idea of the event that triggers the sound.
Sent from my SGH-T999
How would you get the .ogg format from say.. an mp3 or something? If you can do that you can probably give it the same name TW_Touch.ogg and it should play the new sound. I agree it would be nice to replace it. I bet someone on here knows how to get that format. :good:

Audacity is a free sound editing program that lets you convert your WAV/MP3 to .OGG
what is the path directory to the sounds? I've been looking through it and I can't seem to find it. I must be blind.
i tried to browse here: system/media/audio/ui
but it doesn't seem to be there D:

I really like audacity. I used to use it to make my ring tones and notification sounds and looks like I'll be using it again!
Hi Everyone! So I got it working! super excited with my new interface sounds
Here are the steps you need to take:
1. Have a File Explorer with ROOT access
2. Navigate to system/media/audio/ui
3. Choose the sound you want to replace (I edited S_HW_TOUCH.ogg and TW_TOUCH.ogg)
4. Save a backup of the sounds and replace them with your unique .ogg sound files (use a program like audacity to convert your sound file to .OGG)
5. Restart your phone.
6. PROFIT!
Happy Modding Everyone. Thanks are appreciated! :highfive:

I really dislike the water droplets as well. Those were among the first i've changed. I believe they are the LOCK.ogg and UNLOCK.ogg
I'm on my phone so I can't search very well. Did anyone find where the dialer sound was?
I looked in the phone apk and only found two sound files, neither of which was the dial pad sound
