Hello! I've ported HTC functionality which allows us to use .mp3 files as a volume level adjust sounds instead of simple "beep". Sounds are located in /media/audio/ui directory. Stock HTC ones are low quality, if you find better ones please post them here.
CWM recovery package contains framework.jar from stock deodexed JVO firmware and should be used only with it! If you want to make a backup, simply pull currently used framework.jar from your system and swap it with the one in my package.

Simply replace sound files Volume-1.mp3...Volume-7.mp3 which are located in /system/media/audio/ui directory with your own sounds.

Hello Lukiqq!
I've a GalaxyS2 and I am interested by your great mod! it's possible to port your mod on a GalaxyS2 rom?
I've attached this framework.jar.
Thanks by advance!
edit: framework-res.apk added!

Can you add it to the JVP version?
can you make it work on JVP ?
can you just maybe release the source for the modification? i mean what to change in this jar

Adding Ext Power as well as % Battery Mod is very easy thanks to Jim Panses super Arbeit
Many thanks also to Dena and whiskeybro for their Theme as well as vukandric for the Gingerbread theme.
This is how I did it on Darky's Rom, but it should theoretically work for any Rom based on JPU.
Possibly the Rom needs to be deodexed what most custom roms are anyway.
You will possibly lose animations but there is an easy way to get them back!
Read end of post for this!
Ok let's get started with the simple (but limited) method.
Step 1:
Download the theme from Dena, the Gingerbread Theme as well as the framework-res.apk attached to this post. Put them on your SD card.
Step 2:
Install Dena's Theme with extended Power Menu
Step 3:
Install Gingerbread Theme
Step 4:
With Root Explorer copy the framework-res.apk file out of this thread to /system/framework
Your system will most likely crash after that and reboot with the new framework-res.apk active. Then change the permissions to 644 meaning all boxes in the first column selected as well as the topmost row of the second column selected. All else unselected.
Done!
This should work for any rom, but I can't confirm it yet.
For anyone interested in making their own themes compatible with ext pwr + % battery here is the more complicated way to do this and the way I actually did it:
Step 1:
You will need Dena's Theme again as a base as well as a another theme that already has the % battery but lacks the power menu. (It work too if you don't have % battery yet, but then only for the ext Power Menu)
Step 2:
Extract the framework-res.apk of each theme.
Step 3:
copy everything from framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi of the theme you want to use into the same (sometimes also called "...\drawable-hdpi-v4") folder within the framework-res.apk of Dena's Theme.
Do not extract the framework-res-apk files. Use 7-zip to open them and do the copying!
Step 4:
Do the steps from the "simple" guide but instead of gingerbread theme you use your theme of choice and the framework-res.apk you use is the one you created.
Animations:
Many Themes use custom animations now.
The most common is the fly-in animation.
These animations might be lost with this method.
To get them back simply download the "Animations.zip" from this thread. Extract and move to /sdcard/AndroidThemes and then install with Metamorph (app can be found on market)
Here is another way provided by kenkiller

Very useful, someone should try this on Darkyy's 5.2
I AM on Darky 5.2!
Were you able to retain all of Darkyy's animations after doing this?

No it doesn't. Not all rom can use it. Each rom framework-res.apk is different.

differently themed maybe, but it should still work as they are all based on the same framework-res.apk (that of JPU)
Animations are gone, but I have a good idea how to fix this
Animations are what puts Darkyy's ROM apart. Apart from his very good themed colors & graphics.
Thank you for the credits!

The fly in animations are exactly the ones used in darkyy's rom,or at least similar enough that I didn't notice a difference yet.

If you used my files as the base for this, its only a little part of the fly in animation, because i dont liked the whole package!
What Dena theme do you mean? That link is to the captivate forums?

Thx for the info
Giving it a 5-star. Helpful.
it's pretty easy to regain the animations if u prefer the original.
Just extract the anim folder inside darkky's framework-res.apk with 7zip, and then overwrite the same folder and contents with the framework-res.apk you intend to copy to ur phone. But in the case of animations, it's needed to clear dalvik cache in CWM.
This actually does work on most custom roms, as long as they are deodexed.. Great work though..
Is it also possible to only add ext menu and keep glass window lock screen? I like the instant sms reader

Hi.
Just wondering if it's possible for me to remove the Power Off popup which appears just before the phone restarts, goes into recovery etc.
I'm not shy with having to alter files either, so whatever it takes I'd like to know...
This is for a Deodexed JVT 2.3.5.
Thanks in advance.

Cool I'll take a look. If you could tell me the files that are changed that would narrow it down a little for me.
OK I did a file compare and there are WAY too many files which are different (including the framework-res.apk file).
Can you please narrow it down for me.
Worked it out finally.
Can you please explain how did you do it?
Thanks!
I just took Perka's advice and it worked out.
The files that needed editing are in the android.policy.jar file located in /system/framework/
I compared Perka's android.policy.jar file against mine and updated GlobalActions files that are associated with the Reboot, Shutdown etc.
It's not too hard especially if you have some kind of programming background.
My next project is to work on the 10 lockscreen mod.
While preparing JB Style for XXLSJ I've seen that we needed a proper VRTheme templatefor the new partitions ( /preload ) in our new systems. This will probably change in the future as Samsung releases the final version... but meanwhile... you can use this template to build mods.
No need to replace the entire SystemUI for battery images. This is not my work, I just simply adapted the original template.

So quick question... If I change the hue of. 9 image I can't drop straight into an apk? It has to be recompiled 1st? If that's the case, that explains a lot. Thanks for the heads up on this. Every time I did this previously the image got distorted so i gave up touching them and just changed normal pngs.
7-29-13:Updated All Flashable Zips Added International SecPhone apk's
I have a working SecPhone.apk flashable zip That is confirmed working on most TW Roms. The first time you press the record button you may have to press several time before it will start recording after that it works fine. Be aware that volume and sound mods and hacks may cause the record option to fail or lock up the call screen so please use the ones I have included below which work with Call Recording Mod.
For UVUAMDL Base Roms (This is the Stock Base Rom)
For Themed Or Stock SecPhone.apk (This Zip For Deodexed Roms only!)

[DISCLAIM]
Doing at your own risk, I don't hold any responsibility for any consequence that may have occured.
I personally have tested this mod on my rooted pixel on NOF26v release.
Remember to do a backup first.
I personally recommended to overwrite those files and keep your adb connected and restart the system ui instead of a directly rebooting by install the app. . By this way, if there is something wrong, you could easily revert the change via adb.
[Background]
After a week, accompanied with many bootloop and systemui FCs, I finally managed to make the real network traffic to show in the status bar.
I was inspired by this post post by @Morningstar, however, the code is outdated and does not work with the latest nougat release.
I then extracted all the updated smali files from Resurrect Remix ,specifically the system image for flo device because I personally owned a nexus7 2013.
I modified the scripts provided by @sellsky, actually a lot of changes needs to be done, and you need to add missing code when you see something unusual in 'adb logcat'.
You can find the modded files (SytemUIGoogle.apk, SettingsGoogle.apk ) from here.
You can find the modded trafficcm from here.
Screenshot is also attached.

Nicely done.

Then you don't have a Pixel?
works perfectly, I copied both files to system/priv-app, reboot, magic. Thank you!
This one feature is ~70% of my love for xposed. Thanks for porting this over... greatly appreciate it.
To be clear for others, the script is not required for this to work.
Back up the two files in question, both in system/priv -- then copy the above apks into the respective folders and reboot.
After installing this mod and you want it on the left hand side, flash this.
If someone who is using a OnePlus 3/T is able to make this work please say how you did it because I can't find the files that need replacing on my device.
have no idea on how to use the modification and will this still work on latest security patch

Works fine.
The thread has been quite clear.
1.) Download
2.) Copy
3.) Reboot
4.) Enable

I'm using a custom ROM that is based on AOSP so I think I am. At least there are no .odex files within my system/app folder.

Upload your systemui.apk, framework-res.apk, and settings.apk or whatever yours is called.
I'm not a pixel user, using clean AOSP on Redmi note 3 snapdragon. Can I use these modded files? Or they are SoC dependent?
I'm pretty much a noob ?

You can't use the finished product but using the script might work if you will change the names of your settings.apk and systemui.apk to match the pixel and run his script on your pc. Afterwards change the names back.
Ops updated for android 7.1.2, there are some change in the android support lib.
