I have a user in my office with an incredible 2. His Calendar app mysteriously dissappeared. It still lists as having a service running in the app management, but we can't find a way to open it, and the calendar entries on the widget do not seem to be syncing or updating. This is a totally stock verizon phone. We would rather not hard reset it to get the calendar back. Anyone know how we might be able to fix it without rooting it? Is it possible to reinstall the calendar app from an APK? Does anybody have the APK to do that? Thanks in advance.
Try going to settings applications find calander clear cache and anything else.

Did a data clear on the app (cache was already empty) and tried a force stop to see if it was hung, but no change. It's like the shortcut from the apps list and whatever settings are applied to the widget so that it can open the app have been deleted.
Issue with the stock firmware. Only fix is a factory reset. This is the main reason I rooted and changed ROMs.

Good to know. I'll pass that along.

Yo. So, I've been wanting to experiment with CM6 because you guys rant and rave over it, so I change my bootloader and nandroided my Fresh 3.3 setup. I have a Titanium from my Fresh 3.3 days as well.
So, how do I get my contacts/apps/settings and stuff back? This rom is obviously AOSP, so my settings for Sense-based applications don't have a place. What about my contacts? They were in my HTC Contacts app. Is there a way to transfer them to the stock Android Contacts app?
Should I restore my Titanium backup, or is that a bad idea because this is AOSP? I searched, but no luck. I'm sure somebody's done this.
Edit: Also, in other news, I don't have a data connection. Was there a radio update I should've done or something?
Bump. Come on, I want to use CM6 to its fullest. I tried another search and I can't find much.

The easiest way to back up contacts with aosp is with gmail and google apps.
The contacts should have synced into your Google/Gmail account. If it didn't, you probably messed up by disabling background syncing either completely or by disabling contact syncing specifically.
Mybackup..for everything.

Thanks for the responses. So, Google should have put my contacts back on by now? I have automatic sync enabled and everything, but I've never had it restore my contacts before. I signed into Google upon installing the gapps zip on the CM6 page, but still no contacts.
Also, can I hit restore "all data and apps" and stuff in Titanium, or is that a bad idea?

Better question: Did you have background sync, your Google Account, and Google Sync enabled back on your previous ROM?
Check https://www.google.com/contacts to be sure.
I ended up nandroiding back to my Fresh setup, exporting my contacts to my SD and then going back to CM6 and importing them. Then Google synced them without any problems. The apps don't really matter.
I'm really digging CM6. I thought I would miss Sense a lot and switch back after an hour, but this is awesome.

I have notice that in the last day or so my phone sync icon has been constantly spinning and draining battery very fast....Help, is there a fix for this???
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
If you're on a Sense Rom & have removed any system apps that sync, the syncing will go on forever as it's trying to sync an app that's not there. Gmail, Facebook, Peep, Friend Stream & its counterparts, Weather... you get the point. Restore those apps or reflash the ROM to solve the problem. A temporary fix would be going into Settings, Applications, Manage Applications and force stopping com.htc.bgp but you'll have to do that any time the phone syncs.
I don.t recall removing anything...I just start to notice this about two days ago..I am running the Elite Series Custom Rom and have not had any problems untol now...strange...I really hate to reflash

Does a battery pull, wipe of cache, and dalvik cache, and then reboot solve it? It sounds like something is stuck syncing. Maybe Facebook, the weather, or something. When you go to menu>settings>accounts and sync, do you see any of your accounts stuck with the spinning sync icon?

Not sure how it happened, but for most of my contacts I have about 3 identical google profiles for...I noticed this when I go to send a text...I get about 3 cell #s, 3 home #s, etc for each person...wondering if there is something I'm missing to clear out? Thanks in advance, just mildly annoying

Might be a stupid question but..... have you checked your google account? Are they on there multiple times too?
Do you have more than one gmail account linked with your android phone? If so, do you also have these contacts on separate accounts?
Go to your contacts app and hit the menu button and check your display options too. See if something weird's going on there.
Or you can delete the data for your contacts through the Application manager and let it resync in case data was corrupted some how.

I actually get the same thing but I'm heavily modded and just live with it. For me I'm on 1.1 of Srf and running the honeycomb theme of amosher. Also sync across two main mail accounts with my mandatory Gmail account not being one of them.

Clear the google services framework data.
First, I must apologize for posting in the wrong forum...meant to put in Q&A...sorry. And thanks for the suggestions...I cleared the data in the contacts storage, clear google services framework...reset the sync...unfortunately nothing worked...just weird...shows like 3 linked google accts under every contact...I can delete them manually, but upon reboot, they come right back...oh well, guess I'll just deal with it too...thanks again!

Go to the sync settings and uncheck the Contacts option on all but one of them and then reset it again.
Login to Gmail on a PC and try merging duplicates under contacts/more actions.
Nicenice...yours was the winner...thank you! & thanks to all who responded, I appreciate it

Happened to me once.. I've always had my contacts on gmail, but I once used a different back up app that restored my contacts, suddenly, I had two gmail entries for every person.. both on my phone and in gmail.. solution was to go on gmail on a comp and delete dup contacts

Any body else having force close issue with their galaxy nexus. Force close message says, "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped." Looks like has to do with contacts, my sync indicator was red, even after un sync all contacts it still force closes. Any ideas??
What ROM and kernel are you using?
Have you changed anything with the system?
Also, try fixing permissions, it's been known to fix force close issues on some occasions.

Stock ROM, kernel 3.0.8
Nothing changed with the system just happened out of no where
Have you added / updated any app? Haxsync or anything like that?

if its contacts.. main phone settings, manage apps, all, contacts.. the clear its data. same with contacts storage. turn your sync back on, reboot, then open your contacts. see if that solves the issue. sounds like you might have gotten some data corruption. ive seen that before but the person restored his contacts backup with titanium from one rom to another. restoring system settings with titanium backup will do that sometimes.
have you tried to clear the cache?
I apologize if this is a known issue, but i wasn't able to dredge anything up. Seems that I'm unable to create new contacts in my list. It works otherwise, i.e. I can call and/or text using the touchwiz shortcuts, but a no go for adding new numbers. It just freezes and then force closes.
Running 4.04 FH13, stock and unrooted. Next step is to delete them all and try to start over. Thoughts?

I dont think deleting all the contacts will help. Try removing your google account and then resyncing it. You could also try clearing Contact Storage data before resyncing to see if it helps.
