Sense roms losing notification and phone sounds - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

all the sense roms i have run seem to eventually lose ringtone sounds eventually. this only is fixed with a reboot. i cannot pin this to any certain action that i am taking. vibrate still works for calls and notifications.
this is incredibly frustrating and would like any help possible.
this has happened with skyraider and newts desire s port.
currently running miui and hasnt happened once.

I've had this problem too. I thought I blew my speaker. The way that I remedied it was by using the speaker phone. Once I did that, I haven't had any problem. I don't know if that was a fluke, but it seemed to work for me.

using the speakerphone made your notification sounds come back?
my issue is not with in call volume. its with ringtones and notifications. media still plays fine while this is occurring.

Just reboot

[Q] One ring in silent mode

Has anyone else running CM9 4.0.3 had this happen? The phone is in silent mode but when you get an incoming call, it rings once before going silent. Also, it is not the normal ringer, but sounds like an old digital type ringer. It rings for about 1/4th of a second before going silent. Ive checked all the settings but cant find anything related to this. Reboot does not help. If anyone else has this problem, or has fixed it please let me know.
Everyone who is running on cm9 has that. It's a bug they even list it it's called the ring of death. To fix it flash a different rom for now

i thought the ring of death was what you heard in the headset during a call, not the ring
The ring of death is several things. It's all the same type of ring during different situations.

The newest update on the issues page seems to have taken care of the issue. Havent had that many incoming phone calls, but on the ones Ive had it didnt ring.

Google Voice Low Volume

This is ridiculous... I've had this problem for over a year on multiple phones. I'm surprised I'm still using it. I just don't even listen to my vm anymore.
Anyone know what is causing the low volume bug? Any known fixes? I get low volume on both the ear-piece and on speakerphone. I've tried turning up all my volume levels and it is still awful. Any ideas?

Nobody?? Is anyone else having this problem?
Seems to be a Google app issue...I had this same problem on roms and stock for ICS but didn't see it on GB. What are you running on your phone,setup-wise?

Still running an EL29 rom.
Yeah I'm pretty sure its the app, has nothing to do with the phone or setup.

I have the same issue with the Sprint Visual Voicemail app. Most voicemails are recorded so low that you cannot hear them (with the app). I've gotten into the habit of just calling voicemail to listen to the message instead.
This JUST started happening to me as well.
I've been running Gvoice on my androids since my very first HTC G1, and never experienced this issue until this week.
The app was working fine, voicemail playback was loud as the rest of the phone, speaker or headset.
Then later on in the day I play another one back, and it sounds like olden times, when in the silence during a telephone call you could occasionally hear AM Radio being picked up by the phone wires, very faintly.
I de-registered my phone with g-voice, cleared app data and uninstalled gvoice app, rebooted. Re-installed gvoice app, re-registered phone with gvoice, re-forwarded calls, and set the app back up, no luck.
This is horrible. I actually listened to voicemails on my phone before. I don't want to go back to using ATT's crappy default voicemail system.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? If it's an app setting, how did it "all of a sudden" fail?

Try "reducing" the sound below the mid-level
I am on AOKP milestone 6 and noticed the same low volume in Skype, Google Voice (voicemail), and Sprint Voicemail. After some tinkering I noticed that reducing the volume to a little below mid level actually brings back the sound. I am not sure if this is something specific to my phone, but you might want to try the same if you are experiencing this issue.

thanks for this! this worked for me, but I was wondering if anyone else was able to figure out why this was happening. Adjusting volume is easy enough, just a little annoying.
Google just needs to update the app. Happens to me too on aokp and aosp jb.

[Q] Buzzing Earpiece - Cant find "Voice Privacy" setting in CM9

Just got my Sprint Gnex last night, and I've only used the phone a few times today, but even with the volume all the way down, the earpiece sounds blown. Or buzzy.
I was reading a few other sites, and they said that turning on Voice Privacy from Dialer settings might help. But running CM9, I don't see that option. Does it exist? Or should I try to just replace it because it's a faulty speaker? Seems like a pretty common issue.
If it sounds like the person is talking through a kazoo, then take it back.
good day.
Don't know if still watching this but it should be in call settings. It is on my one v

[Q] notification sounds?

My phone plays notification sounds while I'm in a call. Is that normal and how do I stop it?
Bump. Help me out. it's my wife's phone and she's busting my balls!

What kind of sound?
Same as the alert sound, or different? is it random or timed?
How often, and how loud?
Can the other person hear it?
I'm running M'ICS and I don't have that issue. Maybe check into a different rom or see if there is a mod for your current one.

I'm bumping this thread as I have the same problem! Using stock text messaging app.
On Gingerbread it would only make the notification sound if I was not on a call. Now after ICS update it makes the same sound while on a call or off the phone. Its horribly annoying while on a call because its loud and both parties can hear the notification. Any fix to this?
I don't want to turn notifications off as I like to hear them but not while on the phone.
Here are the stock FF18 Touchwiz Email and MMS apps that I modded to be silent during in call use for the Blazer ICS rom:

Please backup your rom before flashing these, just in case.
tdunham, thanks but your Silence.MMS zip didn't work for me. I'm stock rooted on ICS with AGAT recovery.
It installed fine and I tried messing with both the sms volume right from the app (put it on default, silent, cloud etc) and also messed with system volume the same way. Its either silent all the time or makes a sound all the time (on a call or off the phone).
I guess I'll just need to keep it silent and use the led light to notify me or use Handcent which is fine but I was hoping to avoid having to use a 3rd party app. Oh well, its a minor issue. Thanks anyway.
I'm sorry, I was sure that would work for you. I've had good feedback about it. If it's any consolation, the stock apps aren't the only one's that do it. My 3rd party Navigation app 'Waze' does it also.

[SOLVED] No in call sound.

I have just noticed that I have no sound when making/receiving calls, on the phone speaker or on headset. I've tried full clean install of a different rom and kernel, but the problem persists. All other sounds are fine. Not sure what could be causing this. Has anyone else had the same issue at some point?
For info, both roms were sense 5 based roms.
**for further info, the call speaker works perfectly in the htc function test.***

There's nothing wrong with my phone! It was my bleeding home signal box!
My apologies if anyone has been scratching their heads over this!!!
