I just did two speediest in different areas. First one isn't in the woods or anything but probably a bad spot. Second is right in town about a mile down the road.
1st spot - 390kbps
2nd spot - 1580kbps
Is 1500 about right?

They are both actually pretty typical of what you'd expect to see on CDMA EV-DO rev. A. Data can drop of sharply based on signal strength.

Yeah that sounds right, to translate the rates into something more practical they come out as:
1st spot - 48.75 KB/s
2nd spot - 197.5 KB/s
here's one I got a few days ago:

or translated into kbps
2188 kbps
Your rates will depend on the quality of tower, weather conditions and how many users are connected to it. Also your PRL version (make sure it's up to date with *228) and your radio are the other things that affect it per phone.

I live in Warner robins GA and as it is I have been in a 4g test area for close to 7 months and fortunately I am on 12m internet but when I would like to use 4g away from the house my upload speeds are garbage. Does anyone know how to fix.
Here's my setup

This is with subpar signal. My typical wifi results are 12+m down and 5m upload so I know its not the phone. Any ideas?

That isn't horrible, but not as good as it can be. I find that my 4G upload speeds top out around 1-1.2mbps. I've heard that the upload speeds are capped at 1mb, and I've never gotten above 1.2mbps on upload. Do you ever reach any higher than what it showed in your screen cap? My up and download speeds fluctuate massively on 3g and 4g. Very inconsistent. My averages aren't bad, but I could test 4 times in 10 minutes and have wildly different results each time.
Ok. That makes sense. Odd that 4g uploads aren't able to push more info. Thanks, now that u mention it I don't think I have seen anyone get 2+m uploads
Upload speeds by nature are generally slower, so you aren't doing too bad there.
Lately I have been trouble with my data connection. While I'm browsing the web the connection will time out or I will loose my signal. This just started this week and the time of day seems to have no effect.
I am getting a mix of really high ping rates (600+Ms), some good pings and sometimes it fails to complete the test. All of these tests where done pretty much right after each other.
A lot of times when I go to access a page the upload arrow will light up and stay lit and the page never loads.
Is this normal or could I have a defective Gs2?

I had called T-Mobile about the problem and they said they would reset my connection. I thought that had helped at first but I guess it hasn't. I have also tried doing a factory reset. But nothing makes a difference.

honestly does it make a difference when you surf around or download anything?

Yes. A lot of times it will not connect at all. Or it will load half the page and then loose its connection.

I also found this thread, and it seems i was shortchanged a bit on the down speed
That is really slow. Like that must be maybe half a bar of LTE. Maybe ~120db?

I'm in Houston Texas and have no 4g lte at all, I had it for about 2 weeks but then it stopped. I'm assuming they were testing out towers.

Nothing here yet in Frisco (Dallas) Tx yet!
Well, we've been seeing it for about a month, but its been real spotty. Good speeds, but spotty. Yesterday I finally got it at my house. I usually grab it for a little while on the way home from work, but it cuts out. Round trip from home to work for me is about 75 miles. From New Lennox to North Aroura. I've had good late since I left this morning, all afternoon in naperville, and even inside buildings. Finally my gnex will fly w/out WiFi! Thanks sprint!!! Better late than never!
I'll post some pics w speed test results on my lunch.

I get really good speeds in Joliet on VZW's LTE too. My cousins live there and I visit a few times a year.

Verizon has good speeds everywhere. Lte for sprint just turned in out here. We've had wimax, but not lte. I don't know if its "officially" on, but its on.

Nice.:good:
Hey guys.
Can you guys help me out. If you have seen my other thread I am getting awful hspa+ (4g non lte) speeds. I thought it was just my phone as I would put my sim into my gs2 and it would improve by a factor of 15. However my mom just got a iphone 5 and says that since than her hspa+ speeds were in the ****ter as well.
So now my thought is that it is a problem with the chipset found in our phones and not being able to handle hspa+ effectively.
ANYWAY where im going with this is I was hoping to get a better sense of others speeds in 4g, not LTE areas with AT&T. If you could help and use speedtest to test your speed without wireless on and post your download and upload speeds.
Thanks in advance
My ugly speeds today. Non LTE.

I get anywhere from 3-9 here in Farmington about an hour south of St Louis, MO. That is pretty consistent with all of my other phones too

Ok Im glad to see others are doing well. I get on an up day ONLY 500KB/s, not even 1MB/s! for download and about the same if not a bit more on upload. I guess I will go to a store and try my sim in one of their phones.
Only down side is there is no store in my area so I have to wait to go back to my parents for winter break. Sigh, first world problems
