Hello all,
I recently became a ZTE Blade owner and I decided to flash it with the latest CM 7.1.0 RC1 ROM, only to find out that the stock Android keyboard does not yet support text prediction in Greek. Since I didn't want to install a third-party Greek IME from the market, I decided to inject a Greek dictionary found in a previous CM release (6.1.2) inside the already existing LatinIME.apk.
Other than the addition of the Greek dictionary, this LatinIME.apk is just like the stock one found in CM 7.1.0 RC1. It was decompiled/recompiled/signed with APK Manager. I don't know if it's going to work on other devices/ROMs, but you can try and share your results.
UPDATE: Apparently there was a minor problem with the keyboard, causing the "&" symbol to display as "&". I corrected it a couple of days after posting the APK here, but I forgot to update this post. I have now uploaded the correct APK and updated the link below, let me know if it works.
How to install:
1. Navigate to /system/app using Root Explorer and copy your existing LatinIME.apk to a backup folder in your SD card (just to be sure, should things go wrong).
2. Use Root Explorer to mount /system/app as R/W and then paste the new LatinIME.apk inside this folder. Change the file's permissions to rw-r--r-- after pasting.
3. Reboot your device and go to Settings > Language & Keyboard > Android Keyboard > Input Languages. Under Greek, it should now say "Dictionary available".
Download Link:
https://rapidshare.com/files/1386317323/LatinIME.apk
Works perfectly with Cyanogen 7.03 and wildfire.
Thanks!
Works Great on HTC Hero running Elelinux-7.1-Hero-Custom-v2 (Cyanogenmod 7.1 based)
A.I.type Keyboard will support Greek text prediction soon
We are releasing Spanish and Hebrew today. German and French next week. Then Arabic, Italian, Portuguese and Greek (in no particular order). So we hope to support Greek within a month and a half.
They keyboard itself already supports Greek, but doesn't provide text prediction, corrections and completions in this language.
FYI.

I was searching for a way to add the Dutch language to the B&B 4.1 ROM of Tom.
I saw in the thread a lot of people where searching for this so i made a little howto
First of all i need to thank the guys from who i have gotten this here in xda (search & find):
- ctibor
- hiblopp
Well here we go:
Code:
1. Copy T9DutchLdb.dll to \Windows folder of Artemis.
4. Edit the Artemis Registry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\IntelliPad
a. Incerease by one the value of the "LibraryCount" dword (in my case from 10 to 11)
b. Created a "Library10" dword with the value of 8. (This is for the Dutch language).
Soft reset and you can use the dutch language in Phonepad!
If you want to use another language not provided you must copy the appropriate T9<language>Ldb.dll to the \Windows folder.
AND
change the Library10 value to the value for your language.
These are the languages i found in another thread:
7=Danish
8=Dutch
9=Finnish
10=Hungarian
11=Norwegian
12=Polish
13=Romanian
14=Slovak
15=Swedish
I have added the dutch language file for people who want to make the change!
Hi RikP just did your settings and it seems to work fine thanks!
Do you know also a way to get the keyboard to recognize dutch words?
(or do I have to wait till i typed them all )
Thanks for the guide!

Did a quick search and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299036
Does it fix your problem?
T9
A better method would be the easy one . First you have to copy your t9 file directly in windows folder. Than select phonepad as input method (click on the little arrow beside the keyboard on the bar) and select Options... Input Method: Phone Pad. Select Options... Languages tab... Database... and select your language.
For t9 DLL's i downloaded t9languages.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290007.
I added Romanian in my phone and works great.
PS: Sorry my english, hope is allright.
Dear All,
Touch PAL has a beta version available the Touch PAL 4.0 (upgrade from 3.5), its just the best software keyboard i ever have used. Now my HD is almost perfect, such good that i even have doubts to buy the Touch PRO 2.
Thx for the heads up. I agree, no matter what other keyboard I try, just always go back to touchpal...bit of a learning curve to it but worth it as once learned its simply the best and fastest to use. Just love it!
Any link to the beta version? I recall I really liked this, but ditched it as it didn't have a landscape mode.
**EDIT** Sorry, here it is - http://www.cootek.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=854
I didnt know this software before this, post, but after try it, it is the best keyboard software by far
thanks
I have been using this since 3.5 and think it is the best ever, and now with v4.0, it simply blows everything away!
I prefer this over Fingerkeyboard2 and the HTC Touch Input.
I've started using it since it's FOC day v.1.0.. It has come quite a long way.
Like the new landscape layout (tho' I hardly use THD in that mode) and I can type as fast using the T+ layout as if I'm in portrait mode! Cool!
Now, waiting for them to load up other language pack, and hopefully add in some symbols on the T+ layout, instead of having two '.' and ','.

All languages wich already exists will also work for 4.0
You just have to modify one little thing..
Open ActiveSync and open the Device Browser and go to "My Windows Mobile based device.." then go to Program Files\TouchPal\Surfaces..
There you will see already installed languages.. now open up the directory off the language you want to have available in TouchPal 4 for example dutch.
In this directory you will see dutch.img and surface.data just simply rename the surface.data to dutch.data same as the name of the directory..
If you get the message can't modify jadajada.. then just chose another keyboard on you're device, and then it will work after the renaming you must restart you're device!!!
Happy Typing T+
For this version there are other language files?

hi
tried this for norwegian language, but did not work.
I see the language but I can not choose it.
I bought it for my kaiser and it was great. It's picked up some problems with the Touch HD implementation though. Odd fiddly bugs like the unreliable way it interacts with the HTC input selector, occasional reversion back to the WM6 keyboard and it's not brilliant with opera.
Hopefully they'll fix.
Jon
Sad to report that I lost v.4.0.. after trying to tweak the language file.. this may not be the cause, since others have not issue with it.
Basically, v.4.0 doesn't load or load up a blank page (1/2 the height of the normal keyboard size) at the bottom which doesn't disappear untile I change the SIP. Uninstall, reinstall, uninstall and install v.3.0 and reinstall v.4.0 etc all no use.. sad...
sigh..
Edit:
Solved the problem with the help from the developer. Back up your language files in Surface, uninstall TouchPal, delete all the TouchPal folder in Program File and reinstall. Then Soft reset. Viola!
Anyone tried deleting the other language file before? Is it ok? How about the Chinese language file from v.3.5? Anyone tried it yet? I have it installed, but it's the fifth one on the list at the bottom, so can't access it unless I remove one of the other language.
You will have to remove other language files before you can select another.. just installed a new rom i'm trying some other language files right now.. I will report the status of the testing

I did the above before, and I can't even get TouchPal to launch after deleting the language files that come with it.
if can't afford..using chinese version instead of cracked version..XD
The title should read "Best software keyboard - the TouchPAL 3.5"
IMO 4.0 is a step backwards, I don't use landscape keyboard so the only good thing about this update is nicer skin.
swedish dic SUCKS
This software is great and one of the best if not the best IMHO.
BUT no matter how good a software is for putting in text is. If the dic is bad there is really no use for it.
Different tempus for verbs is non existing and so cumbersome to input. the best would be if it could use the HTC dic like fingerkeyboard. Which really is the best dic a experience so far.
Other really bad thing is trying to get help on their forum to build a good Swedish dic has been non excisting. Atleast for me.
just my 2 cents
Regards
/Frewys
Nice keyboard indeed, and language version of djxfma works good.
Bu I miss the SMS name suggestion function of the HTC input and finger keyboard.
I will give it a try though.
Thanx for this application.
L.
It still can, just a bit more troublesome. After typing the name, press 'Space' and then delete the spacing and the name suggestion will work.
Dear Everybody,
At last week I made some research for make Central Europen keyboard available for everybody especially that every people who read XDA usually use tha latest UK ROM as the most fresh, always brand new system software. The UK ROM usually contain everything as the Android system in it is multilingual and has all features for almost everybody, but Samsung Keyboard (and sometimes Swype) is different a little bit from this aspect as these 1-2 softwares depend an your CSC settings. If you use UK ROM you will lose real multilingual keyboards, as for UK these are not really needed.
I'm in Hungary so I need real T9 with the latest ROM so... I made them
Based on Sztupy hints on deodexing the keyboards (lot of thanks for it!) and some research between the system files I got some practice so could make my original requests.
The solution:
On 2.1 (example in Galaxy S) the T9 was integrated the keyboard software itself, so when you deodexed the keyboard from one multilingual 2.1, after you deleted your current Sam's keyboard you could drop the deodexed one made a restart and everything was OK.
On 2.2 the T9 database is totally discrete in T9DB folder but need to use the correct deodexed keyboard software of course.
(You not realy need to backup your original or any ROM, etc, because you can rip all needed files in all situations from the corresponding .RFS files (factoryfs.rfs as that base system and cache.rfs as the CSC thingies))
As I have Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab also, after my research I made all available solution for myself and of course for you (on both device), if anybody wouldn't like to make it again.
This/my current keyboard files made from XWJM8 ROM (2.1) and XWJPI ROM (2.2) as the two latest Central European version, and safely usable with any JP* ROM.
Usage:
0, to safe use you need to swith onto any other keyboard and kill the Sam's one or make a restart. (This is not a real needed step, but for smooth switch this will help you to save yourself from some scary FC when you overwrite your system files...)
1, delete all your current keyboard files with adb or root explorer. The files:
/system/app/AxT9IME.apk
/system/app/AxT9IME.odex
/system/lib/libDHWR.so - lower or uppercase!
/system/lib/libXt9core.so
/system/T9DB - if available - just on 2.2 keyboard!
2, copy all my files into the system folders with the same logic.
/system/app/AxT9IME.apk
/system/lib/libDHWR.so
/system/lib/libXt9core.so
/system/T9DB - just on 2.2 keyboard!
3, for smooth and safe method set the permissions to 777 (rwrwrw)
4, restart your device just for safe.
5, try to set up your Sam's keyboard if there is no input language choices then just enable T9 and select UK as input langiugage, and restart again!
Wow, now you have almost all available T9 with latest Sam's keyboard in any ROM what you currently using.
Languages: (in 2.2, sorry but did not remeber about the 2.1 if anybody would like it...)
Bulgarian, Cestina, Dansk, Deutsch, Greek, English (UK), English (US), Espanol, Suomi, Francais, Hrvatski, Hungarian, Italiano, Nederlands, Norks, Polski, Portugues, Romana, Russia, Svenska, Turkice, ***, Slovenscina, Ukrainian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Serbian
Happy new year!
(See my attachment as the keyboard itself!
XWJM8 - the almost latest 2.1
XWJPI - the latest 2.2)
Same things for Samsung Galaxy Tab also available here:

Good work!
I've really missed proper characters in the ROMs I've tried..
I am also looking for a missing language in Samsung keyboard.
I followed your steps and it looks like all went correctly, but as a result I have the option to change the languages, but my Bulgarian keyboard do not appear.
I am not sure if those files contain all internationalization data, as I installed the Gingerbread keyboard as well and got the same problem with it - there is Bulgarian to select, but does not appear once chosen.
I am recently trying Doc's ROMS with JPY base. Any idea?
Hi boyanovv!
I also tried this simple mod in order to get my native input language on SGS.
Had also the same problem, but after all it worked
Here is how I did (some parts may be useless, but maybe not):
Switched to Swype. Using Root Explorer moved .apk and 2 .so files, didn't had T9DB and .odex file. Uploaded modified files. Rebooted (didn't do 777). Went to settings, set input method to Samsung Keyboard. Disabled XT9, added my language to keyboard, didn't add English. Checked if it works, but didn't. Rebooted. Didn't work. Uploaded T9DB folder to /system/. Rebooted. Enabled XT9, set locale to English UK, removed all input languages. Rebooted. Added my needed languages and changed locale to US, disabled XT9. Rebooted. Worked, even russian
I used 2.2 files and I have DebusROM XXJPY.
regdude - thanx, gonna test your version.. atm I'm using the 2.1 keyboard, only I could get to work, but really preferred the 2.2.
Hi All,
Sorry for delay but I hadn't got free minutes in last days for gadgets, but refreshed the SGT pack with the latest and check this topic also. Without T9DB you will never get predictive dictionary of course but and as I tried to told you don't need .odex file as for usable for everybody I needed to deodex the keyboard software also. You just need that 4 things... The main .apk, the 2 .so and the needed dictionary files in /system/T9DB folder... with selected English and restarted device you need simply get those languages. I tried with not all but lot of them and the keys were correct and got dictionary also. Of course if you don't need you can use just those languages what you need not all but my pack contain lot of...
Hope everybody could use as I tested on 4 devices without problems. ( On Galaxy Tab I got some NEE files what missed from that ROM what I used for the multi pack, but over on it was everything OK. )
Bye...
thank you!
I can't get the one for 2.2 to work. I have follow all the steps in first post.
The keyboard pops up but I can't chose languages.
anyone has got it to work?

Same problem here.. I can set languages in settings.. but I can't slide the _ to change between the languages.. only a few are there. Another time I got it to work, my SMS got quite strange.. half my msgs got changed to Chinese, after I sent them, they were in Swedish on my phone, my girlfriend sent me some msgs back asking if I was joking with her.. lol
2.1 works, though I preferred the 2.2 T9 Keypad.
cant seem to get the 2.2 to work... or the keyboard works... but not the languages...

Same problem as me then. With the 2.1, I get at least Swedish, English and Croatian. However.. when I send SMS, sometimes half gets changed to Chinese(I don't see it, but my girlfriend was wondering what I was on when sending her texts in Chinese), I got no idea if it's the ROM or the keyboard that does it. Quite odd though.
After that I found the HTC_IME, it works quite well for me(girl don't get messages in Chinese anymore), but I still prefer the Samsung 2.2, if I could get it to work.

This did not work om my sgs i9000 with darkys 9.2. i did get to sealect the norwegian langue, but it did not work in 3x4 mode.
Thanks for this hint.
Interesting for me is ( all steps done ) that i have all the languages in but when i try to swap them most are not working. Specialy Bulgarian,Surbian ....
Tryed some other like greek or russian they are OK.
any ideas ?
i'm with Darky 9.5 fw 2.2.1 GT-I9000
Hi! Can you enable all languages for Samsung Keyboard on Gingerbread 2.3.3???
I've installed this. Does T9 work. I enable it all everywhere and then try typing 843 on the t9 keypad and it doesn't change it to "the"
or any other word combo i try. Does it work for others. Maybe i'm missing something
you sure you enabled the correct keyboard?
English definitely should work, some of us that use other languages got problems, but English works for.
Also, another proper working T9 is the HTC_IME, you may wanna test it.

yea, I accidentally found it when I was trying to find a T9 keyboard for my HTC Tattoo, since it seems all devs like the gingerbread qwerty keyboard even on the low res 2.8", I tried on the Galaxy S and it worked perfect
Since many of us Greek users have a problem with the lack of Greek language in newest Swype, I am making this dedicated thread so that people can easily find the solution as well as to resolve future problems we might be having!
This should work for any ROM
Download Swype.apk
Download LibSwypeCore.so
For Greek language to work, you have to select French language in Swype settings. It is named French, but it is Greek
*Do this using a file explorer that supports root operations (my favorite is ES File explorer - go to settings > advanced > enable root operations)
Note: I do not know how made the modded files but I really appreciate his work

Swyped from my Galaxy S II using Tapatalk
Why don't you make a .zip file so we can flash it using CWM? Or someone who knows about those stuff.
Sorry but you are not allowed to distribute Swype unless it's embedded in a ROM
this is the Swype policy and XDA policy as well
After long time using XDA to get what I needed, here goes my little contribution.
I love Swype keyboard, but no matter which rom I installed, I was never satisfy with the swype (if any)
My claim is more about included languages. I want to have EN-US, EN-UK, FR, PT (and PL if possible)
And I don't like Swype 3, to big IMO.
In last Sotck ROM Swype come with expected languages but azerty keyboard has a bug (line 7890 and special cars)
So i decided to correct this, I extract the Swype from last JVR.
So here we go:
Swype 2.26.68.19015.1027.GTI9000 with corrected AZERTY Keyboard.
Included languages are:
Code:
UK English
US English
Nederlands
Français
Deutch
Italiano
Korean?
Polski
Português Europeu
Español
Türkçe
Looks like due to the paid/beta stuff I can’t share directly the fixed APK
So you’ll find attached only the modified files.
A quick Howto modify swype yourself
Code:
1. Get Apkmanager. Get the Swype apk from your phone or JVR ROM and put it in APK Manager\place-apk-here-for-modding.
3. In Apkmanager, open the batch file called 'Script'.
4. Enter 22, select Swype, select 9 to decompile.
5. Copy the contents from zip file under APK Manager\projects\Swype.apk\assets\keyboards.
6. In 'Script', enter 11, Enter, system apk Y, copy file: hit n, Enter, hit 12, enter.
7. The new apk will be located in APK Manager\place-apk-here-for-modding.
8. rename it to Swype.apk and copy it over /system/app/ on your phone with any File Manager.
PS: Can anyone confirm if I can share the swype.apk ? or Can I upload to an external hoster? I’ve already done a cw zip update file.
you can only share Swype in the form of a ROM, not as an APK
and only for phones that originally was shipped with Swype
