Hi,
Im just wondering what needs to be done to get xda to make 2 separate forums for the nexus s and the nexus s 4g. Obviously development is different, but so are the topics that are talked about in the general section... such as which kernel to use... noobs can get very confused and flash something that isn't for their device. If there's anything I can do to help get 2 separate threads going for these devices please let me know.... it would help a lot of people out.

Hello all nice devs and helpful users on xda,
I have my friends his galaxy s ( i9000 ) It is bricked
I have read many threads on xda and more, I even watched some tuts.
For most stuff it was like I have really still no idea what to do and for the most threads were all downloads down.
So if anyone can help me with working links and a clear explaination of the use of odin I would be verry pleased.
I allready know how to come in download mode on the thing, but then we get all kinds of stupid stuff with a usb connector and that kind.
So again please explain it to me.
And my excuse for placing this in wildfire section, but that's my main section
greetings deadrag3
You could try asking in the Galaxy S forums. They'll probably know more about that.

yeah I know.
I allready figured out how to use nodin with a little help of my good friend google( I only needed to search for 2 hours ;P )
but a +1 for the comment
p.s. this thread can be deleted no need anymore
This thread is for the community and I to share some awesome mods and everything else that some people might have missed, especially if we aren't able to keep up with the developer community since there's so much! This way it can all be in one place!

Not to be rude...but I'm curious how this will be different from the forum topics already organizing posts about mods, themes, apps, accessories, etc.?
I suspect I'd actually start to find it irritating if I had to look in this thread as well as the existing forum topics to see what's new in these areas.
Do you have some plan in mind to keep this from being redundant with these other topics?

ah well...didn't see it the first time around. My bad...
I just meant it would be all in one place for people to say: go check this and that out, it's pretty cool

my nexus comes to me on monday... coming from the thunderbolt this should be fun... any ideas on what roms i should try out first??? any suggestions would be great thanks!!!
first off you should unlock bootloader right when you get it, cause it will delete what ever is stored in your SD, as for the ROM i personally like AOKP cause they have plenty of customizations.
Check out the sticky threads in the Q&A section.
and the stickies on the general section.

Here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904099
Please in the future:
1) Search first.
2) Don't post questions in the development section.
Maybe there needs to be a step included in the process of creating a new thread asking the OP to ensure the thread belongs in that forum.
Please read forum rules before posting
Questions and help issues go in Q&A
Development is sacred area for developers to post work

On the "desktop" version of the website, there's already a step when creating a thread that automatically searches and finds existing threads on the subject.
It's already ignored by a lot of people.
I'm skeptical that adding an additional step for people to ignore is the correct solution. That being said, I have to real solution.
I always try to suggest people search and I'm fully aware that it makes the threads seem hostile to newcomers. I honestly don't know what to do half of the time. Being polite helps, but a lot of time people want to get upset.
Sorry people. I thought maybe I would get a more direct answer if I came directly to the sacred area of developers. Now I know that next time I'll go to Q&A and look there for the answers I need instead of relying on your expertise.

I was about to point you in the exact direction that mlin did. That's some good stuff, I keep it on my SD card in case of an emergency run to sprint for insurance or anything.

It's not about expertise, it's about Development, that's reserved for exactly that development of roms, mods etc.. It is not a question and answer forum nor a theming section. Those have their own section with thousands of people which are going to probably help you and give you proper information. Also mocking the words of a Moderator is not a good thing to do. Just some friendly advice.

Hey guys i am new to to xda developers and still looking for and learning about all types of Roms right now I own a sprint note 2 L900 if anyone have any info or news about any Roms out there that are very stable and fast be more than welcome to post on here and tell about it screen shots will be preferred thank you.this is for learning and sharing Roms anything else please don't post.
No offense but are you serious? Everything you need to know and learn is literally clicks away in their respective sections. I doubt anyone is going to come to this thread to specifically let you know about this ROM and that ROM, features and so forth.
Explore around yourself.

Members are expected to do their own research. Development section has all the ROMs and questions are asked in the Q&A section. XDA is a development site and members are expected to research before flashing anything, There is no BEST ROM...all are the best. Just read the ROM threads and you will understand what I mean.
