I've installed my first ROM, but the lockscreen isn't working. (And the weather app doesn't show any graphics, only text).
This is what I did:
Installed Recovery using the Unrevoked program
Installed the AceSMod007 v34 STOCK hboot zip
I was low on space as I hadn't set up an ext4 partition.
So I:
Wiped data/cache/dalvik
Created a FAT32, a 1GB ext4 and a 32MB linux-swap partition.
Installed the AceSMod007 v34 STOCK hboot zip
Solved the low space issue, but the lockscreen and weather app aren't working.
Tried:
Wiped data/cache/dalvik/battery stats
Deleted and re-created the FAT32, ext4 and linux-swap partitions.
Installed the AceSMod007 v35 STOCK hboot zip
Still the same issue...
Should I use the CM7 hboot version instead of the STOCK hboot version? (I don't know the difference...)
Or what am I doing wrong?

Ensure u have 1 fat32 partition followed by 1 ext partition..nothing else have to be created (u dont need swap i think)
both have to be primary partition and have to be in that order
some users that had ur same problem had done some mistaken creating the ext partition..after the partition is ok, wipe and reflash the rom
I have a FAT32 partition followed by a ext partition and they are both primary.
The App2SD is working fine, so the ext partition should be working, right?

Am I using the correct ROM version? (STOCK vs CM7)
I made it work! I extracted the sdext directory from the AcesMod007 zip and made a new zip containing just that and flashed it. That did the trick!
Anyone know why the original zip failed to flash the sdext part?
And the Zip contained the sdext folder or just the folders in it?

Sorry, don't understand what you mean...
I followed these steps and it didn't work for me. Did you extract the sdext folder from v39 or v38?

It was actually the v35...
You probably didn't add an update script. You can use the atttached zip. Just add the content from the sdext folder to the attached zip.
I just installed it again using the zip and the sdext folder contents from v39 but it is still not working. Maybe it is a bug in v39?
It doesn't working neither at me

Hi,
I've created an ext4 partition on my SD with the intention of using it to store apps on
I used the gparted method described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
Now I've flashed a couple of ROM's (Oxygen, Redux and CM7) but have no idea how I can put apps on it
Additional question:
1) if you do a data, cache/dalvik wipe will the apps on the ext4 partition also be deleted or will they remain on it so you can reuse them in another ROM
2) I've rooted and s-offed my stock rom, can I use the partition I've created here as well? and if so, how?
thx

on all 3 roms youve mentioned you tried, app2sd is automstically setup on rom install. so you are already using app2sd.
1. yes if you wipe dsata, it wipes your apps on ext 4 partition
2. and yes, your aready using your partition once your using a app2sd rom. specific roms allow you to push your dalvik cache to your partition but it is not reccommended as it can slow donw your phone.

extra test: I've installed Leedroid with app2sd
when I install an app from the market my internal memory decreases and I cannot move it to SD card
I've created a 500mb partition, should this be visible as "internal memory"?
cheers

Some apps still need some space from the NAND internal memory.

Nope. But if you download "Quick system info" from the market, you will see where it's written A2SD your external partition and its used space.

If you are like me and want to install lots of apps app2sd is not good enough sorry I was on Leedroid superb ROM but I soon ran out of install memory because even if you move app2sd say you have 20mb app and move it to SD it will move like 16mb to SD and 4mb will still be on phone.
Best way is Data2SD I use startburst and have 2gb ext4 and my phone thinks it has 2gb internal memory
Make sure you backup and have a SD card class 4 and above some say class 2 fine I dont think so.

Download the market apk files from computer and put it into SD card.
Then istall it by ES File Explorer

i was thinking of Flashing this ROM, so im curious to know why Market is not in the ROM or if it was just a odd issue the OP ran into?
it was in mine when i flashed it yesterday
Reinstalling the ROM fixed it, but now can't install any more apps. Keep on getting no space left error messages. Had created 512MB Ext partition to begin with. Any idea how can I create a 1gb partition from ROM manager, it doesn't allow me to create partition more than 512MB
Gparted doesn't seem to work, windows doesn't detect the FAT32 partition after repartitioning in Gparted.

how to change the displayed % battery, but don't want to change the font ..? UOT do shall both?
Appears creating ext4 doesn't work in my SD card. Created 1GB ext3 partition. Everything's working now.
For those wanting to know the Market app IS there but it's part of Robocik's auto-install so it's not on the /system partiton any more. Personally, I moved it back to /system/app before flashing
[Q] HTC Desire not booting after installing rom of RSK TEAM ★ with AMAZE CAM [v.5.0]
Hello All,
I tried to install [ROM][20.02.12][★★ SMS ★★ ] by ★ RSK TEAM ★ with AMAZE CAM [v.5.0][CM7R2][STOCK] after full wipe, wipe cache and everything.
I was able to see the message that it is installed successfully but after rebooting the device it never comes up.
Can anyone please help me on it.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Bhavik
A little bit more information would be very helpful
Do have a ext-partition?
Which size?
What hboot do you have?
The fact that recovery said installed successfully basically means nothing, because it just informs you that updater-script finished.

Yes. I got it corrected. I checked out and there was no sd-ext so I created one but still now my problem is
2 partition in sd card
1. fat32 - 5329 MB
2. ext2 - 1024 MB
I transferred the file to fat32 partition but when I go to revolutionary and try to select file from card it is saying no file found.
Ok, first I would change ext to ext3 or 4.
You say that the rom.zip is not found, which confuses me a little bit. Have you chosen apply update.zip and it is not found or have you chosen flash .zip from SD-Card and you can't find it?

use gparted to format ext4 partition. both fat32 and ext4 must be primary, first fat32 fallowed by ext4
i'm using this ROM now and i'm very happy with it.
I'm using the rom but I have different problem, when I have a call, there is no "reject" button on the lockscreen (see attached pic). However function works fine and I can reject the call.
Any ideas???

Sorry, I was a little bit selfish.
Try this:
- flash 4ext recovery (you can do it after you instal 4ext recovery updater from the 4ext site, you can google it easily) it has more tools then cwm recovery (revolutionary that you mentioned)
- there you have tools for partitioning of your SD card and sd-ext formating so you can switch your ext2 to ext4 because rom requires ext4
- then try to install rom, (my recommendation is to try to flash CM7 r2 hboot because rom will work much smoothly and you will have bigger internal memory)
- if you choose cm7 r2 hboot use generic a2sd, not a2sdx, maybe you will have smaller memory but it will work much faster
I hope I helped, and if you need any more help I'm opened to provide it. I tried numerous roms so far with different hboots and I managed to solve almost all of the issues I had.
Cheers!!!
Hey guys, I recently flashed benjamingwynn's cm 10. I really liked the rom but the rom takes up a lot of space. My internal memory is very low, so even if I use link2sd I was only able to install some apps. Then I tried data2sd from the market. I created a storage file but when I try to mount it, there's nothing happening. Is there any way to make data2sd working? Should I follow any other steps?
Thanks in advance!

Data2sd from market? lol.
Data2sd is a script which is only flashed by installing from recovery or rom manager... Get cronmod int2ext+ script and flash it from recovery. It works pretty well.
I can only repeat sukhjit321, you have to flash it in recovery.
Download this: http://www.mediafire.com/?t1r06j60gybhn2t
Put it on your SD card, then install it from recovery just like a rom (delete cache partition and dalvik cache before).
Or try int2ext+ or something else, but you have to flash all of them in the recovery.

Yes, first make a FAT32 partition, and then an ext4 partition (the ext4 is going to be your internal memory, so make it as big as you want)

Please answer the following questions to be able to help you better.
1. Do you have a working sdcard installed on your phone ? (silly, :silly: but important)
2. Have you made the appropriate partitions on your sdcard ? (usually 3 partitions are required; 1 fat,1 ext and 1 swap)
3. Does your kernel have init.d support?

Since you are using CM11 by Olivier, I believe it supports init.d. No issues there.
So, the reason CronMod script is not working for you is that you don't have appropriate partitions on your sdcard. CronMod script "increases" your internal memory by basically mounting the external sdcard partition as your internal memory. For this to be possible, sdcard should have a partition formatted as ext2/ext4 file system.
In simpler words, I would recommend you to create atleast two partitions on your sdcard both primary. One of them should have ext2 file system and the other fat32. (ext2 will be mounted as internal memory and fat32 will be your "normally" usable sdcard). Having a swap partition is optional.
I am running CronMod Int2ExtV2+ Script with following partition scheme on a 4GB sdcard.
Partition1- fat32 (2.5 GB)
Partition2- ext2 (1 GB)
Partition3- swap (512 MB)
**Please backup your data and start afresh with your ROM**
Here is a handy guide for creating partitions on your sdcard.

That's not right. The first partition have to be FAT32 for use as sdcard and the 2nd one will be ext2/3/4. Just reverse Partition 1 and 2.

Well, at the time of posting, I didn't mean that to be in any order. That's why I posted the link on how to create the partitions. But anyways, it can be confusing, so I changed it. Thanks.
