Changing Keyboards w/Reptide9/ Myn's

Hi all-
I am having two issues that perhaps the community could offer help with-
First, I am running Myn's 5.3 with Riptide9's ported v13 theme. I love the combination of the two and the wireless systems work well.
I have noticed 2 theming issues;
1. I cannot seem to change the keyboard. I've tried flashing the various gingerbreads and they do not take. I've tried doing the long press in the dialogue boxes but the option to change keyboards does not pop up.
2. I have had trouble flashing clock widgets; oddly enough the two flame/glass clocks from Stone work fine. However, these were downloaded well before using Myn's. I've used a variety with IncRom with no problem but trying to flash others does not work.
3. I am wondering if this is an issue inherent to the theme rather than the Rom. I did a test run last night where I flashed a clean, unthemed version of Myn's and was able to swap out keyboards and clocks with no problems.
Are there any suggestions out there? I can live with the clock but would prefer to change the keyboard. Thank you in advance.

I'm unfamiliar with the theme, but if it's something you can just flash over Myn's 5.3, you could try doing the unthemed install, flash the clocks and keyboard, then flash the theme. That's weird that the theme is preventing use of alternate keyboards, I don't think I've ever heard of that happening before

I'll give that method a try. Seems that every user has a unique experience trying to "perfect" a nearly perfect phone. Thank god its not an iPhone or we wouldn't be having this conversation.

[Q] question about sense 2.1 roms

Been trying some Gingerbread with Sense 2.1 roms
Just wondering if its possible to disable the recent apps list in the notification area?
It kinda bugs me, its not very pretty, and holding the home button does this anyway.
I've tried to searching for this but cant find any info, maybe I'm the only one it bugs.
Also which png do I need to edit for the notification area background?
Not major issues just little things.

Is there any solution for the 720p camera problem on the Gingerbread ROMs? I have Class 4 microSD, and I'm S-OFF with CM7 Hboot. I hadupdated to the RCMix S 1.3.1 but I couldn't see any improvements.

[Q] Synergy ROM question

I have a couple of questions about this ROM... even after reading the suggested threads
1. I have RLS1. What's the difference between RLS1 and RC2? Which one is nightlies?
2. How do I change the font size. My lock screen, where I trace my unlock sequence, has very large font, I see the second line because the font size is so big. Can I fix this? I was able to change the size in *Spare Parts* App, but the app says it's only within the apps itself, implying it's not permanent.
3. What is the best kernel to run with this ROM? I really like it. I came over from VP, which I really liked and could tweak almost anything, but now I'm skittish because I'm not familiar with Sense ROMs and this particular one. I used Myn's way back when it first came out, but that's the extent.

That's the nightly. Rc1 had minor bugs that rls1 took care of. Stability issues mainly.

Kernels are up too you. But i would recommend using stock or lithids freedom kernel

[Q] MikG 2.52 Status bar ghost effect with transparent rosie skins

Ok so, I'm sure this has been asked before. But I don't want to try a fix unless I know for sure, it won't have any other undesired effects. I have noticed the "ghosting effect" or whatever it is with two different roms with certain Sense 2.1 Skins. Such as Xperiansed Arc, Blue Sky, as well as several others. I've read somewhere that the problem is caused by the rom. And not the skin. But it seems odd that two roms from two different developers have the same issue. Regardless, it would be appreciated if somone could help me fix this. I have some experience with rooting and editing files and what not with apk's, and other misc. things while running linux. So if that's what I have to do, I can. But guidance is preferred.

I have seen the same issue and haven't found a solution either. I like the sense3 skin w transparent Rosie but ghost date at the top is a fail

[Q] Looking for new Rom and help with some other stuff!

looking for a new ics style rom. main focus is i really want it to be snappy but save the battery well on my evo 4g. i used to run CM, then decks, then decks reloaded, then tried strike and it wasnt working well, now running sonicFlame and its not to bad. just wondering what else is out there that im overlooking? should i switch to the newest CM? also what is now the best kernel? im using a tiamat sbc i think.
another question i had is there anywhere to get a nice pack of apps and utilites like decks reloaded comes with or would my best bet to be to back them up with TB and load them on the new rom i like?
also i really love having a unified theme. i used crystal full system theme but i am now looking for one that matches the ics blue. so if there is a full system theme anyone knows of or any icon packs that would go with an ics blue rom please post! is there any tuts or links someone has that i can use to try and start making my own theme or how to make icons and use them?
and does anyone know why my lock screen on SonicFlame rotates even when i have rotate off and the screen locked portrait? just bugging me, along with my button lights only working for a bit when i flash a rom then never coming back. happened the last couple roms i used. any ideas?

Well I will give you my thought on the button lights. I have noticed that if you use auto insurance brightness they don't work very well. Also when you go below a certain brightness they go off.
For ics kernel the Mason series is your best bet. I have not flashed many ics roms so not much help there. The few I tried were miui and evervolv.
A little hint. If you like customization I would say try out an miui rom. Then put on an ics style launcher. I hate the miui one myself too much like ios. Now you just find the launcher theme you like. You have a killer looking ics with the bonuses that you get with miui. You can filter calls with white lists, black lists, and calls not in phone book. Also set times to block calls. Built in backup app status bar toggles, and other miui only features.

There are older ICS builds on goo.im
under miui and supersonic. The current jb release on roms.miui.us is laggy on lockscreen but not too bad elsewhere.
If you want pm me any questions you might have. I have tried just about every ROM on the site.

Why not just go back to reloaded? You may have given up on that one to soon..

Yeah. my button lights crapped out the first time I flashed an ICS ROM and never went back to working the same, no matter what I run now.
If you want the apps you have now, just back them up with TB or My Backup Pro.
