Thanks, I really could have used this yesterday instead of restoring a backup.
I'm almost thinking of rocking this because, for me, it seems to have the best battery life.

Will this work on newts sensation 3d Rom. Chads is good but I don't really care for overclocking. I don't wamtto be.in a bootloop tho.

I made this specifically for that. this is the stock OTA kernel this is what you get stock, this will work on any SENSE ROM. enjoy.

I personally think that the inc2 is fast enough stock, sure it's nice to over clock, but when battery is needed, I like to rock stock

Been tested and working on all of newts ROMs.

yeah, HTC did a pretty jam-up job with the stocker really. Or maybe it's just because it's one of the few android phones that will last all day on battery in nearly any situation, but with this phone I'm much less concerned with over/underclocking and voltage tweaking compared to a lot of them in the past

Cm7 or sense

Ok so I have ran both I am currently running cm7 and I like it but I kinda still like sense so really irk what to choose as a daily drivervwhat do ya think?
sent from Cm7
I use CM7 as my daily, and I find it quite enjoyable. Sometimes I change the screen color just cuz I can.
I've tried both and enjoy sense more. It just seems more organized to me, but I've been using it since it was called touchflo3d on the HTC diamond.
Maybe I just don't like change, lol.
I really liked CM6 and 7 for the customization options but they were just buggie on my phone... maybe it was the kernels I used, maybe some random app or something but neither of them really had everything working correctly that I need/use...like sometimes GPS wouldnt work, sometimes it was the camera, both of which I use on a daily basis....
Sense on the other hand is much easier to find a ROM/kernel combo that allows everything to work as it should, with decent battery life... Has good UI IMO but lacks some of the customization options that CM had... I really couldnt tell an actual difference between the two types in terms of speed, although the "benchmark" tests always said there was a big difference
Just my opinion but I like Sense as a daily and then flash CM for a few days here and there, then nandroid back to my Sense....
I like CM7, but what you're really asking is whether Sense is better than ADW. Personally, I use LauncherPro Plus.
Give MIUI a go.....it's smooth, fast, very different looking....

I'm currently running EViO with ADW.Launcher and I'm very pleased. It isn't as light as CM7, but seems very stable and the battery life (1.8) is nice.

Have you used any others? Fresh Evio Myns all run pretty fast with no bugs for me.
Personally for a daily driver i use "Sense". mainly because i have 4g in my area and use it. Once CM gets 4g bug free i will probably switch to CM.
I put sense in quotes because i remove everything i can from it including the rosie ui (i use launcherpro) and the htc widgets. Hate the rosie UI but like copy/paste and 4g.
Yea...I've used alot of roms since getting my htc....and I liked myns and caulkins...but mikfroyo with a netarchy kernel has had the best results for myself

I finally took the plunge and flashed MIUI this morning. I played with it for about 2 hours and and then nand restored MikfroYo 4.4 because i missed it.
I just couldn't see myself getting used to the iphone feel and the lack of wiimax really bummed me out. It was pretty fun having such a completely different feel though.

Alright, let's try to solve this. What ROM are you coming from? Did you do a full system, cache, dalvik wipe? What radio to you have? I think the current radio is 1.09.01.0622. Does your md5 match 888c72b821a250cc5c92c93ce44b4a88? Btw md5 is to make sure your download is not corrupt, a simple google search will find you a app to do this. If you are getting past the splash screen it will take around 2-6 minutes roughly to boot from the mik mik animation.

I'm currently rooted stock. Like I gained s-off with alpharevx's tool, and then flashed clockwork and Su. And yeah, I wiped all that stuff. I tried a fresh download and got the same results. I let the boot animation go for about 5 min. I don't really have reliable access to a computer, so I can't really dl the app to compare sums.

Some Help...
I have tried Almost every rom up here since root was achieved.
I keep going back to CyanogenMod, but OMGB & TSM's Pool Party are both light weight, & Fast ASOP Roms.
Can't stand Sense in any version since I tried an ASOP Rom. I have tried a few of the sense roms to come up here, but I never stay for long. I have much better looking widgets, and am fine without it's over bloatedness
If you want SPEED, STABILITY, CUSTOMIZATION, etc. CM7 is a great choice, but in the end its your phone, Don't be afraid to try a rom for a day and see how it fits you if you don't like it go on to something else!
all of these roms have their ups and downs here are some I have tried at least once.
ASOP
*-CyanogenMod 7 for the HTC Incredible 2 Beta
*-CyanogenMod 7 Nightlys
*-OMGB 1.2.1
*-OMFGB 1.3.0 Nightlies
*-TSM PoolParty v1.3
*-MIUI WTF If I wanted an iPhone I would have bought one!
Sense
*-TSM GingerBangVanilla 1.7
*-Virtuous Unity 1.31.3 :: Sense 3.0
I also recommend a better Recovery like Amon Ra or the fixed ClockworkMod by Matt Devo that has many different color choices.
A better recovery will make your flashing life much easier since we don't have a track pad like the Incredible or the Aria and all the clicking gets old FAST!Don't forget a kernel!
Better battery life and the over clock speeds are just some of the things they fix, and some will help with sound volume issues in the ASOP Roms
ASOP
Tiamat
JDkernel
Sense
[Kernel][Sense]2.6.35.14/OC/UV/CFS/Vdd_sysfs
[Kernel] 1.6ghz Sense/Gingerbread

ROM Reviews? Good stable ROM?

Anyone know if there is a compiled list of ROM reviews? I am currently using CM7, but am thinking about switch to Sense. I have had some trouble finding a stable ROM. Anyone have a recommendation for a good one? I would like cutting edge features, but would rather stability and battery life over features.
Examples of issues I have had include Incredible HD having no MMS or SMS, smooth just not working, etc. The reason I want to go back is due to bluetooth issues in CM7 and battery life.
Thanks.

This behavior happens due to the way in which batteries are charged. It happens on many ROMs and kernels for the 1st 10%. What is important is what happens after that. If you want to avoid it entirely the only sure-fire is to use an SBC kernel.

most stable ROM?

I need to update my wife's DInc 2 and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on a stable ROM. I don't have time to try a bunch out for her and am not familiar with the phone. she's not techy, so it needs to work, but stock is a little boring/laggy for her.
the main things she needs to work are camera (both), tether, and pretty decent battery life.

If you want stable but don't like stock, I would suggest cm7 (mrom) or the old gingerbread miui (though this may be harder to find unless someone still has it, try rom manager). Ics and jellybean can be iffy since we never got an official release and a proper kernel.

I say CM7 (even their latest nightly has a lot of customizations) or Skyraider Zeus (what I am currently running). Although ICS works really well - it has its glitches which could be frustrating for someone who doesn't want to deal with workarounds.

I'll miss ICS, but I won't miss having to enter my password to answer a phone call!

+1 for Skyraider Zeus, got an iPhone and I gave my DI2 to my mom threw Skyraider on it because I didn't want to have to talk her through clearing data to make camera's work and I used it for two days while the new phone was in the mail and forgot why I stopped using it. One of the smoother/fast roms and the battery life is amazing. Easily double what I got on Viper's.

Agree with this. Although I've only tried CM7 because I'm all about battery life and stability. MROM does that and more. The UI is clean and everything is zippy. It really gets the most out of this phone. Who needs ICS or Jellybean when you have a kickass rom like this?

totally agree with you. I've had a droidx for a few years and have stuck with the gb roms the whole way. I've tried all the ics ones, but they all have their issues, even if it's just battery life. every once in awhile I even flash a froyo rom and love it...

MROM
Incredicontrol overclocked to 1.3GHz
Zeppelinrox's V6 Supercharger and Kick Ass Kernelizer scripts
Flawless functionality, battery life, and stability.
Theme it however you want.
Good luck with the phone! It's a good one that is overlooked.

I have run this rom with and without the scripts, I don't see much if any difference. You don't have to use those if you don't want to. And you don't need an app to overclock, it has that in settings. But you can use that to undervolt and change I/o's. As phonetool stated, this rom runs really well on this phone. Give it a shot.

I had been using DKStunna's Global 10.1 JB ROM build 3 as my DD for a few months and it was mostly stable. It would lag out once in a while I was managing apps, but it was pretty fast with the built-in Nova Launcher. I got tired of not having a working camcorder and since DKStunna broke his Vivow and ceased development I decided to switch to ChillyBean's ParanoidAndroid/PAC 2.19 ROM. So far it's been awesome! It has "inverted" GAPPS, Facebook, and some other core system apps, which I'm not a fan of, but it's supposedly something you can change. I have a working camcorder again (after a few tweaks), which is what I was looking for. It looks like ChillyBean broke his Vivow also so I don't know how much more development he'll be able to do, which is very sad. Anyway, I highly recommend the latest ParanoidAndroid.

You don't have to change anything for the inverted gapps. Just flash the normal ones instead. Then you never have the inverted ones to begin with.
