[Q] Why doesn't my Wifi Tether app work?

So the first rom I put on my phone after i rooted it the really hard way with the cmd prompt was the teamfenix1.7 rom. With that rom my wifi tether app worked but now that I have CR_Mod_1.35.531_OTA it doesn't work...neither does my wifi. How do I fix it? Is it fixable? Barnacle Wifi doesn't work either!! Please help me!

It's not like we HAVE to help you, you know.
Did you wipe when switching roms? Have you tried wiping and reflashing?

You flashed the ota kernel and it doesn't have tether support..

Well miguel I thought any expert dev/modder such as yourself or rayray or whatever y'all call yourselfs could easily answer what I consider to be an easy quick fix. Yes I have wiped and reflashed about 4 different froyo roms and anytime I use the wifi tether app, my phone freezes and then reboots...but only with that app. Oh and I saw something about barnacle wifi and tried that...but my laptop doesn't pick up the signal. Would flashing the latest radio do anything? Hey rayray what do you mean by the base rom?

Which version are you using? 2.0.2 or 2.0.5 pre 13?

I'm actually using 1.35 something like that...I found it in the rom bible. Apparently it isn't the latest version haha. Can you post a link to where the latest one is? Plz? I would greatly appreciate it!

The latest version of CR_MOD is 1.35something. It's the latest firmware version (official) for the slide. That's where the number comes from. If you're looking for the latest tethering app I'll post it. As far as the radio, it's in my signiture and CR_MOD has it set to flash when you load the rom.

No GPS on RC4?

Exactly what title says. Its not that I'm not getting a GPS fix, its that it doesn't seem to be working at all. There's no icon in the status bar or anything.

Flash gingerbread radio from the develop section. That fixed mine

Don't flash a radio.. I had the same problem so I flashed back my stock nandroid and then flashed cm7. To be honest you should google the ultimate droid rom for this and get that...super fast and almost as responsive(though some fanboys are going to try and argue that statement I'm sure) as ios. Or flash the stock gingerbread htc rom that was released last week or so

I've tried using the search bar to find it.... But no luck. I just want to replace the H to 4g. With same color scheme as the stock ics. Anyone who can hook me up with this mod? It would be greatly appreciated.

Just change it yourself in whatever build you're running.
Using winrar Go into system>app>systemui>Res>drawable-xhdpi> and look for the file "stat_sys_data_connected_4g.png" and rename the 4g to h. update the file let it do its thing And you should be good to go.

Hey,
(have you actually tried running the app?) if so,this appears to be a specific problem on your end, since I know for a fact that it does work. I tried it out approx. a week or two ago and it worked just fine. Also i just checked the desktop play store and it gave me a green light as well.

The app does work. Have you changed your LCD density? If so change it back to the default value and that should fix your problem.

I didn't change the LCD density at all. What is s good ics rom to flash? Many of them I tried have laggy keyboards.

I've had it working since day 1 on various roms. I don't like the fact that you have to crop and do all this stuff to use the app and upload images. While its a "cool" social network, Pixlr does the job and allows you to post on other social networks without having to crop your image.
Hope you got it working.

I had the same problem, but is only if you go on the market trought the phone it says that. I went to http://play.google.com and from there I could install it and I'm using ILWT very easy, I ain't got problem

Mobile Data Connection Issues

I am running Andromadus Mimicry version 1.40. When I turn mobile data on, it takes an age to even show up in the notification bar. The only way to make it connect is to reboot the phone, and it comes right on. When it actually does connect, the speeds in the browser are really slow as well. Only when it shows the 'H' icon in the notification bar (instead on the 3G icon) websites load. I have flashed the radio mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1701467 and still no change. Any suggestions, as this is really frustrating.

Use Airplane mode (or flight mode) instead of rebooting the device

Have you tried wifixmanager (market) ?
