Whenever I am overclocking to its MAX 768 Mhz. the phone is not responding and then i have no other option left but to restart the phone by removing and inserting the battery. This thing makes me quite irritate.
Please suggest how to fix this and also quadrant standard app is not running.
Sorry for my noobness
Then don't overclock to such high speeds. Try increasing slowly and see what speed is stable.

I mean to ask that if it can be fix through any kernel or else.
No. Your CPU cannot handle such a high frequency and such things cant be fixed through "kernels" or "something else". Only solution, Downclock in steps of 1 and see which is stable. (Go to 748, then 729 and so on)
Thnx 3xeno I was waiting for ur reply on this. I hv installed set CPU and now running on 710mhz.
Can u clear one thing y games are not running frequently on this device. If u r using good games which are supported den please suggest d name or provide links. I will b highly thankful to u.

Its because of the lack of a GPU. CPU Speeds alone don't have much of an impact on it, which is why even after overclocking, games will lag and not play properly.
I do have a few games installed like Angry Birds (Obviously), X-Construct and Alchemy, but that's about it. Thankfully, my iPod Touch is far more competent when it comes to games, which is why I don't even try to run any games on the Wildfire.
I use games such as
angry birds
Tank hero
Baseball superstars
Basically games which arent heavy 3d graphics

Hi there, the current CPU max for Desire HD on stock is 1GHz.
If we change to other custom ROMs and it allows us increase the normal 1GHz to say, 1.5GHz.. (overclocking?) will it damage our hardware?
Cause as far as I know the software should be supported with a powerful hardware as well.
Overclocking always has the possibility to damage the cpu. And as not all cpu's are the same, if you want to overclock, the best way is to start of slowly say 1.1ghz. And keep stepping it up slowly. If your device begins to get unstable, go back a step, and you will pretty much know the level of your cpu fyi ive had mine overclocked to 2ghz and it seemed to run fine, although i didnt keep it at that level for long. lol

I've been using minne over clocked at 1.5ghz since the day I bought it and I've not noticed anything as far as hardware failure. Being a computer technician I'm constantly trying to run what I have at the fastest rate without fail. I've not felt any overheating and per temps I've only seen about a 5-8°c increase over another user at work on the same ROM.

I have been running mine DHD at 1,2 for some time and ofc there is a chance that the CPU fries, because of the OC, but I don't think the chance is very big.
But please remember that the warranty of the phone dosn't cover overclocking
Hmm.. ok. Thanks for the advice.
I shall consider carefully before doing anything. Currently I am at only 1190MHz. Lol.
Anyway thanks again.
Well,I am running a really nice 1.8GHz,stable and fast as hell.Never noticed any overheating.
What most people should bear in mind is that the physical limits of our cpus aren't the ones that the manufacturers tell us they are with their spec sheets.Almost always, cpus are tested in higher clock speeds than what they are sold with, just to be stable and safe.
And one more thing.Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Flyer share the same cpu as the DHD?Cause it runs @1.5GHz stock. If they have the same cpu, guess what this means for us!

In setcpu,go to the info tab and do a stress test for some minutes. If it doesn't crash or anything you're good to go!
Thanks.
I did two ten-minute tests in SetCPU, the first 1,53Ghz and second 1.61Ghz, both without errors.
Anyone have any idea ?
Lol. Guess I will just try increasing the GHz slowly. Trying 1.3 now
I dived straight in, and set it to 1.5. No problems so far. Done a stress test successfully. But is there any need to increase the minimum level?

If you clocked your cpu too high, your complete phone will freeze. That means the only possibility to restart it is by pulling the battery.
If your browser closes suddenly without any notification, it's app related and not due to an overclocked cpu.

Well,to overclock you'll need a custom kernel, which means you'll have to be rooted and have at least clockworkmod recovery installed.ENG and Radio S-OFF are recommended.

ok I know, but I do not understand why when I enter the page, for example: speedtest, after a few seconds the phone is completely frozen (o / c) 1.22Ghz
I watch movies, play games, do tests, benchmark, etc. (o / c) 1.22 Ghz - 1.53Ghz. Everything is ok.
just a few seconds in the flash player and death:
Did someone try do downclock CPU to say 800MHz. Will it improve battery life?

Yes you can, you need to root, s-off and install a custom kernel first though.

Well,as AndroHero said,Flash is quite CPU intensive. However, your problem could be caused by the fact that your CPU isn't as "good" as others.By "not good" I don't mean that your CPU's quality is bad,it's just that it is unique like every CPU(nanometer scale devices like transistors are hard to be produced and be exactly the same one with another) and it might need you to up the voltages for higher frequencies. That by itself is no problem.
If the problem is indeed your CPU's limits,as it could be app related as Flussen said, and if you are running LeeDroid's rom or at least have his kernel installed,I could provide you with the OC script I am using myself. You see,I too am "suffering" from problems with the CPU not being able to handle too high overclocks,so I had to up voltages.Fortunately not much!
catevs said:

Well,in theory it should improve battery life. But calculating battery performance is a hard and tricky process.Just think about it this way;The CPU will run at lower voltages while at its reduced max frequency, thus needing a smaller electric current. However,it will need to run at the max speed for a larger amount of time. So,what you finally get is reduced drain, but for longer periods, meaning the gains in battery life could be minimum to non-existent.I for one am running 1.8GHz and battery life is just as good as @1GHz.
So I bought the gameloft games on sale... NOVA2, Backstab and Asphalt 6...
Haven't really tried the other games, but i play asphalt 6 a lot... But now and then it sorta freezes up my dz... kinda random... never ingame, always in menus or when entering a race... Seems like it's not gonna go away...
Has anyone experienced something like it? Should I try download the games files once more?
I'm running virtuous 2 with v6 unity kernel and sense 3 lockscreen... Haven't seen this behavior in any of my other games and i've got a lot of games..
Of course I'd rather not pull my battery if it can be avoided... but how damaging is it? I mean... it can't be that bad, can it?
Anyone?
Sorry I haven't tried running that game on my device, so I can't add anything about that.
But on pulling the battery: no, pulling the battery isn't bad for the device, but it is quite annoying. Something is obviously going wrong if its causing your phone to lock up. If this isn't happening in other games on this ROM, I'd e-mail the developer (of the app) and give them a crash report or some info on whats happening.
I'm guessing you have undervolted your CPU? The game is probably running at your max frequency and the custom voltage you set for that frequency is not enough to run stably. Happens to me too after I undervolted my DZ and tried running at 1.5GHz at 1300 voltage setting.
Awesome tips! Trying them out!
Same here with my galaxy s GT-i9000
Hi guys,
as most of you have experienced, Grand theft auto 3 came out for Android I have been waiting for it quite long, so I am very excited that it's finally here now.
I downloaded the game, and started playing it. It is playable, but it runs very snappy, laggy. I am playing with like 10 fps, wich is kinda slow..
What I tried to fix it:"
-Install the Blackice AOSP rom, so see if there's improvement.
-OC my phone to 1,5 gHz
- play it with Chainfir3D, and put the textures on low.
Like I said, the game is playable, but I think I can get more out of my phone..
Maybe I am wrong, and is this all I can get, or maybe there will come updates soon to optimize the game for this phone..
Let me know if you have any solution!
Thx
That's weird, I'm running it on Ultimate ace with pretty good fps (>30), maybe try changing the CPU governor to performance, or check if there's any battery saver enabled which could affect performance...
Thx for your fast response!
Unfortunately, this didn´t seem to help.. I even decreased the texture quality with Chainfire 3d, but this only gave me 2-3 frames win haha.
I don´t think it is because of the rom, since mine is as simple as you can get ;O
Do you have any other solution I could try?
Maybe try redownloading, perhaps you've got a bad file?
Im using the Black Ice Rom but Game runs quite good. It isnt that fluent but looks pretty good though. But I cant play the game properly. My DHD freezes and reboots after playing about a minute. I turned off undervolting, but problem didnt go away
Can someone upload there handling.cfg plz, I downloaded one for the SE arc and now the cars fly when accelerateing

Hi there
I have my Note3 Neo for a month now and it runs superb, love this device. However.. there are few 3D Games that glitch during gameplay
Beach Buggy Blitz- Starts up fine but after a while I start to notice game Glitches, The checkpoint clock and the Boxed graphics on the sides don't act as they should be. There other parts of the game that acting the same way.
Dungeon Hunter 4- (Great Game) Starts Fine, After a while all the characters lose their characteristics.. face.. sword details.. armor details.. etc..
PlayStation® All-Stars Island- The Game itself runs fine, but on the main menu (the Island) it like the 3D is broken (pieces disappear and appear again).
Other 3D Games like Kritika: Chaos Unleashed, Dead Space, Dark Avenger, Dead Triger run smoothly.
Just want to know if there is anyone else out there having the Same Problems or its just me.
P.S i read about Modern "Combat 5 not working" If thats the case Big.Little Possessor is there a way to fix this?
Thanks
Although the reviews compare it with snapdragon 800 and they say the cpu is on par and gpu os on par with adreno 320...however I have noticed games were much smoother on my Nexus 4. At SOME point on note 3 neo games do stutter.

This is my first ever post (or reply :silly on XDA  . I own a N3N (SM-N750 INDIAN VERSION). I bought this phone like a week ago, and i am enjoying it (except for the KNOX ). I rooted it the second day  and was playing around with it as i previously had a Galaxy Y :good: . I installed the same app (System Tuner) i used in my SGY to manage all the root level settings. I installed it on my N3N and first went into the CPU section and it actually displayed 6 CPUs (from CORE0 to CORE5) and also the first 4 cores which are based on Cortex A7 were clocked at 1.3 Ghz and the last 2 cores ie. CORE4 and CORE5 were clocked at 1.7 Ghz. And guess what it had all the options like configuring the speed of the cores, forcing them on or off and also changing governors (but i say dont change governors it freezes the phone then u have to pull the battery  ) and it had couple of other option to use on a rooted phone like FS Trimmer, Build prop tweaks (it works on mine no bootup issues ) entropy fixer (like seeder i think) sd card cache size, oom fixing, and all the other things u want on a rooted phone  . However i was not able to find any option to control GPU freq.
In short it was the best app I found till now to control various aspects of your N3N including CPU. :victory:

Have a look at this App to change GPU speed
FYI just tried the GPU_OC up to see if it will do any difference to the games.. But now i get an "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" error on the long press of menu button (recent apps). P.S i own an N3N 7505.
just saying as heads up..
The error was caused by the secure settings the apps asks you to download..

Alright, its a long shot but here goes,
Ive been really into this Family Guy Quest For Stuff game, for those who havent played it I recommend you do!
Anyway it really seems to hate custom roms, It lags unbelievably and becomes unplayable, Yet when im on stock it is smooth, fluent and works flawlessly.
Ive been into the game for a few months now and have progressed well and would like to keep playing it, However I dont wanna be on stock to be able to do this. Are there any other Family Guy players around here with the same problems?
For what its worth all other games work as they should, this is the only game in my collection that has this issue.
Cheers people!
? "Family Guy" and "Big Fish Casino" are the only 2 games I play on Android.
? I solved the lag issues by installing the games on my Tablet instead! (Bigger screen & more processing power).
Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
That doesn't help me identify the cause though, the issue doesn't lie with the devices processing power because on a stock rom it is fine.
I want to figure out what is different between stock and custom that could have an effect on this particular game.
The game is server based. Could there be something limiting my connection to the server? Could it be that there is different gpu configuration between stock and custom? I really don't know much about how things work but there must be someone who does around here
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Free mobile app
I think you already answered to your own question, when you mentioned "different gpu configuration"...
Try using some game booster app?!
Here some examples:
"clean master" for example, has a game boosting option.
Or maybe a more specialist app like (Android Tuner) that will help you to fully control how your device operates.
? I hope this can be of any help to you,
Good luck!
Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
Well I've been boosting the game through clean master and it has no effect. I've used an entropy generator to try and reduce lag. Still no difference. I've overclocked the cpu and fiddled with the governors too.
I will give the Android tuner a go and see how I get on with that.
Thanks.
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Free mobile app
Okay so I have optimised my device to the extreme for playing games. Boosted through clean master, had Android Tuner highly configurated and had the cpu overclocked to the maximum possible as well as kernel tweaks and gpu tweaks.
This issue is 100‰ not related to the devices specifications.
The conclusion I have come to is that the game isn't compatible with 4.4.4 as when I was stock I was on 4.4.2 it worked as it should. Can someone shed some light on this?
Also, what could possibly change from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 that could influence the way this game works?
I know it's no big deal it's just a game. But it's the principle now, it's got me intrigued as to what is happening behind the scenes.
Cheers.
