Can you help??
Gave my HTC desire a good soaking in shower gel..... Washed it out and got it all working again!
Unfortunately the screen has shifted all the display ( time, Weather, etc to the left)
Can you help, i think it has something to do with the way I put it back together.

Hey guys,
I did a DIY screen replacement on my DHD, only problem was that I kind of made a mess of the housing (the gap between the housing and the screen, it's loose so when i put my phon all back together the screen keeps falling out. I previously used sticky tape over the phone (LOL, looks pretty nomad), removed it and then screen falls out non stop, I was wondering what type of glue I would need to fix the housing into place, my screen is loose and constantly unplugs alot, so as of right now i'm using the androindscreencast java app on my pc to even use my phone, (since my screen still works but I always need to disassemble my phone to plug in the screen cable), so all I can do at the moment is just look at my screen. All I want to know is how I would sticky the inside so it wont let the screen fall out.

It needs to be pretty sticky, seeing as how part of taking the screen apart requires you to use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive.

I tried searching through the forum but has not found any solutions to my specific case. I dropped my phone earlier today and it resulted in no physical damage on the screen but the touch screen does not respond and shows up fragmented/ or remain blank. So I have a few questions:
1. Is the LCD broken or the digitizer? and to replace it which one could I buy and has anyone attempted it? could one of you send me a link to what should be bought?
2. the phone is one month old, could I claim warranty on it as the screen is in perfect condition and no physical damage at all on the body aside from a few light scratches.
3. If all else fail what way do I have of wiping the phone clean? (it is stock rooted)

I have an LS970 and I recently dropped it pretty hard onto a desk. The bottom quarter of the screen stopped working after the drop along with the capacitive touch buttons at the bottom. I was able to deal with this but today when I sat on the couch my phone fell again and a crack went down the middle of the digitizer. Now only some areas work and I am not able to unlock it. Before I buy a new digitizer and lcd I want to know if it could have also been main board issues that made the bottom part of the screen not work since no cracks appeared after dropping it on a desk. My play sometimes thinks its being touched when its not
so if I left the screen on it would start opening apps by itself
goes through my contacts and starts sending people gibberish lol
wondering if anyone els has had this problem?
and if its defiantly the digitizer or possibly the flex ribbon?
I intend to replace both at the same time
has anybody els replaced a digitizer?

how dose it hold up against scratches?
I attempted to clean my old x10 mini pros screen but when I closed it back up...
The screen lit up and stayed blank.... Do I face the same danger with the play?

Yup replaced mine after having the same symptoms. I got a kit from eBay with the digitizer, screen, and removal tool.
The process isn't complicated, but it's a pain in the ass to get the hinge working properly again.. took me a lot longer than it should have.

Hello, I had same problem and I solved it easily, but I recomend you buying digitizer with a front cover, because unsticking old digitizer and then sticking new one may cause next problems, because if you did not do it right, rubbish can get under your digitizer and you have to disassemble your X-play again to clean it.
So buy a digitizer+front cover on ebay and good luck with repairing...
Hey Guys, I've recently run into a problem with my Nexus 7 2nd gen... I dropped it. It now has a shallow crack that runs down the entirety of the screen. I think it might just be the digitizer because the LCD is displaying everything perfectly, and I've tried a few different roms to makesure it's hardware (cm11, cleanrom, sinlessrom, and stock kitkat) One half of the screen recognizes touches but the other half doesn't. Any help would be great, and if you think pictures would help I should be able to get some up soon. Also if any moderators think that there is a better spot for this thread it would be much appreciated if it was moved. Thanks in advance guys.
