My desire HD does not boot anymore tried all the usual stuff nothing I decided to send it back, could someone tell me how to restore at stock rom?
thanks
just search on XDA, there are a few full instructions which help u unroot and store your phone back to original one. I did once, and sent my phone back for warranty.
Can you boot into recovery mode? (Have you tried taking the battery out and putting it back in and then booting into recovery mode by pressing the volume button and power button together?)

Hello,
after i did a nandroid backup, my desire wont boot anymore. The display goes on, showing up some green htc letters but turns off after ~20 secs. After another ~10 secs the display turns on again; this procedure repeats.
I cant get into clockwork recovery (probably because the phone is only for 10 secs off).
Any suggestions what to do?
I am not that much experienced in android development etc :/
Regards, Nick
I had the same problem earlier after i did a ROM manager backup.
What i did:
1. Take off back cover and remove battery and replace
2. Get into HBOOT menu (Hold down volume button and power button)
3. Go to Recovery and recover there to a previous back up
It took me a while to figure this out, hope it works for you (seeing as you used nandroid, but hopefully it wont be too different. Im also new to this.)
Nandroid = backup
They're the same thing done different ways

Thanks, worked.
Saw your thread but thought i wouldnt work for me because i didnt get into HBOOT.
Think there was a thread about people having issues with the first boot after a nandroid backup...
well i rooted my inspire, and i had a custom rom installed, but my friend got ahold of the phone and factory data reset it, and now it doesnt seem to be rooted and i cant flash a stock rom, anyone have any idea on how to fix it?
After 'restore', are you back to stock ROM? It is very unlikely. But if you are, then re-root and play with it.
I believe that if you factory restore from a custom ROM, your phone can only be used in recovery, everything else is lost. But I may be wrong.
For DHD, we power off the phone (take the battery out) and then while holding down the Vol- button, we keep the power button pressed will the Recovery menu appears.
For more help, please switch to the thread/forum of your phone model.
Or you can install official RUU via PC.
Hello,i need some help.
My touchscreen(and the four touch buttons: home meny back and search) stop working will i was using the phone!
Only the volume buttons work ( up and down) and the power button.
so i rebooted the phone but i cant even put the pin or unlock it...
the phone is rooted and ai using revolution hd rom.
so i started with volume down and power button(to bootloader),where i can go up and and dow to the first menu
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
but when i go to RECOVERY ,the menu is touchscreen ,so unusuable for me....
i want to make the phone unroot and put the original rom to sent it back to service.
HOW can i restore it??is there a way to do it?maybe using the pc?
Yes , you can flash via fastboot , it is possible, but I don't know exactly how .
Probably you have 4ext touch. I remember reading how you can flash ROMs through adb but it might not be the most straight forward thing, so my guess is that initially you can move back to Clockwork mod and flash your ROM from there..
Have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852905
I Have tried searching for the answers and nothing really answers my question. I was on ICS then I flashed back to EL29 using QB's method and now my phone just turns on and then stays at the menu my power button doesnt work? Help?
Can you get into Download or Recovery mode?
Like MeWarning was about to suggest...
Yank the battery, get the phone into download mode and one click odin back to stock then format all, flash your rom.
I had to pull the battery and immanently had to boot into cwm or else the phone would just turn it's self on same with download mode. I finally Odin back to el29 stock and I rooted it but now the only thing wrong is that my power button wont work I.E Can't press it to turn the screen off or turn off the phone. I Tired to fash a new rom and It worked but the only problem still is that the power button wont work
My wife's old S3 was given to me to use. I had originally flashed CM 11 on it and tried to upgrade to CM 12.1. In doing so I accidentally forgot to flash GAPPS.
I reverted to the stock ROM via Odin but now I'm stuck in a boot loop. The best part? The device's power button does not work and I cannot make any selections within the stock recovery to clear the cache and reset to factory settings.
Can anyone help me?
Pull the battery to turn off the phone and put it back in. If you feel the phone power up by vibrating upon putting the battery in and not touching the power button and go into loop then you have a bad power button. Do you have this problem? If so, then your only options are repair or remove the power button (there is an alternate way to power the phone up). Let us know if it is a bad power button or not so that hardware issues can be accounted for and go from there.
NOTE: The S3 has been known for some time now to have power buttons that fail. Mine did, and I opt to remove mine as I could not justify paying for a repair when the S3 is my backup phone and test platform and I have a method to power up. I use widgets for controlling power off, restarts, and recovery once powered up.
I no longer have a power button either and recently encountered this same issue after using Odin to flash a stock image.
My solution was to flash TWRP recovery using Odin, which allows one to perform operations using touch instead of the power button.

Bootloops have not been uncommon when reverting from LP to KK. Once you have flashed TWRP as others in the thread have suggested, you will probably need to wipe/ format the internal sdcard. The other remedy some have posted is to load a stock recovery and do a factory reset from within that stock recovery.
Not sure how to get into recovery without a power button.
Is the button loose or not functioning at all? You could try opening the phone and removing everything from the frame and see if the power button functions.
I haven't tried this with my SGS3, but on my Acer tablet I have booted into recovery using adb and fastboot. This requires connection to a computer, but not a power button. Unless you have a touch version of a custom recovery installed you still would not be able to select an item.
You may be able to flash a custom recovery using adb. I had broken my stock recovery on that tablet and used fastboot to reflash a working stock recovery.
