To run CM7 you need the kernel provided with each release.
to flash the kernel open cmd and put the kernel (boot.img) on the same folder that fastboot.exe and type this command :
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and connect your phone in fastboot mode (blue led on the side)
or download attached zip and put the kernel you want to flash on inside flashkernel folder, rename the kernel to boot.img and double click on DoomLordKernel.bat
Obviously you need unlocked bootloader

You cannot use doomlords kernel with cm7 full stop. Doomlords kernel is built from Sony's kernel source! CM7 uses a diffrent source ........

You should link back to the CM7 thread, instead of posting the kernel here. I know the Devs want to keep an eye on the D/L numbers ........

If you have unlocked bootloader. Just flash binary's rooted update.zip from recovery!

You can use dooms kernel, or find the tft file for the rom your using, use 7zip to unpack it, find kernel.sin, copy kernel.sin to fastboot folder, open a command window and type in "fastboot flash boot kernel.sin"

It is explained on the first page. Basically, extract the package, put kernel boot.img files into kernels directory, put rom image files into ram disks directory. For example if you want to repack Faux123 kernel into cm10, you would put Faux123 kernel into kernels directory, CM10 boot image into ramdisks directory, zip the package as instructed, copy to sdcard, Flash in cwm recovery, collect the resulting file from sdcard. The flash it...

No, the modules you flash normally with the kernel you just repacked.

Promise, last question! Which modules do I flash, the ones that comes with the rom or the ones that comes with the kernel?

You flash the modules for the kernel you repacked.
---------------------------
Example:
You just repacked faux 005b3, then you should flash those modules for faux005b3.
----------------------------
You will only flash the rom modules and boot.img back if you want to go back to your stock kernel for your rom without reinstalling the whole rom.

Ok, so this is the steps.
1. Download required files
2. Open One Click.
3. Choose the boot.img of the kernel to be the kernel.
4. Choose the boot.img of the rom to be the ramdisk.
5. Flash the created file in fastboot.
6. Flash modules in CWM.
Is this correct?

[Q] Flash zip file without go into recovery mode

Hi all.
As the title says, is it possible to flash a zip file without go into recovery mode?
Many thanks !
recovery has to be installed, or no flashing.
but there is an app that is called Rom manager(free from playstore) you can use it to flash .zip while you're on your phone. it will automatically go to recovery, flash and reboot.

I heard others saying that ROM manager can cause brick. I recommend flashing CWM with terminal emulator first, then flash whatever zip with CWM.

The answer is famous: It depends.
Technical answer: yes, if and only if, the partition to where the updatezip is targeted is not being used.
More explanation:
1. You can replace Recovery and Bootloader (not that it's needed, mind you, praise be to Samsung for providing an unlocked bootloader) while the phone is running, because the partitions where these two are located are totally unused during normal phon operation.
2. You CANNOT replace the Kernel or ROM or Baseband while the phone is operating; the partitions are being accessed, and if you (stupidly, I should say) try to replace them while the phone is not in Recovery... chances are you're going to brick your phone.
To perform replacement #1, all you need are: a rooted phone, the Terminal app, and the 'dd' utility (usually installed alongside Busybox).

thanks a lot guysss!!! learned lot of things :highfive:
As pepoluan said, its possible. When you open the zip file, except the META-INF file, the other folder will go as it should starting from the root of the phone. Use something like Root File Explorer then its possible. Files such as init.d files can be copy and pasted. I tried and it works.
but its look like a lot of work and seem unsafe..flash using recovery is very easy and safe for me..

Hi.
Open the zip file on your computer and delete the "bcmdhd.ko" file from
/system/lib/modules .
Compress the 3 folders and flash
I will rebuild this kernel to not include this file since the inc2 does not use

Thank you for your reply, except the wifi not run, the another problem is the kernel not changed, it is still the kernel "3.0.16-g1aff800 [email protected]#1 PREEMPT " not changed. Therefore, using recovery to flash the kernel cannot succeed in the official root (rooted but s-on) or may be just in the official rom. do you think I am right?
still not booting after removing bcmdhd.ko ...

Thank you, Bsmitty83 and for your good kernel, and I may find the reason, because my phone is only HTCDEV unlock, so the kernel cannot be flash, only I can is to flash the boot.img through pc. so then I will go to s-off, and then I will try this again.

[STOCK BASED KERNEL]10.4.B.0.569[UB][DUAL BOOT RECOVERY ](Philz+TWRP)

Aimed primarily at those who have unlocked bootloader and want to root .569 firmware. Can also be used as a daily driver.
Stock kernel with only recovery added using @osm0sis's Android image kitchen. (Big thanks to him )
Instructions:
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked. (Backup TA partition on directly rootable firmware beforehand if unlocking for the first time.)
Ensure you have @Chainfire's latest SuperSU.zip from here SuperSU-v1.89.zip on your internal or external SD card.
Flash the boot.img from HERE with flashtool or command line.
Reboot, and press volume up when blue LED comes on to enter Philz CWM Advanced Edition recovery,
Or volume down to enter TWRP
Flash SuperSU-.zip from where ever you stored it.
Reboot - Done:good:
Credits

I see what you did in the new kernel , you changed the recovery-ramdisk .
I tried that too with others from CM 10.2 and CM11.0 kernels but no luck.
The phone boots.....vibrates & purple LED appears......i press vol-up several times....phones boots into the homescreen.
Everything works fine but the CWM window never appears.
Thats why i'm asking you again where did you get the kernel source ? I cannot find it on sony developer world

Did you try to boot into recovery via adb?
adb reboot recovery
So you can test if it is a general problem with recovery or with pressing keys in.the boot process.
When I had a recovery on my phone (I currently don't have one, and it had not been this recovery kernel by shoey) I was only able to boot into it via adb or the app X-Parts.
